  1. This would be a great idea if they actually deliver on it as Mini needs diversity to deal with an over bloated CUV lineup. Wish them the best, I wonder if it will be a rebadge of the BMW 1 series? Fastest way to market is put a new skin on the BMW 1 series and move forward. They could then use the rest of the lineup to become a full diverse auto company with a variety.
  2. Suav, I agree that the pattern is nice looking, but wonder if it is real wood or just a quality fake? What auto is this from according to consumers report?
  3. WOW LOOKIT ALL THESE SEVERLY LIMITED SUPPLY CARS INCAPABLE OF TRANSPORTING MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE AROUND AND CATERING TO A NICHE AUDIENCE THAT WILL BE LEFT IN THE LURCH WHEN THE AFOREMENTIONED CAR'S BRANDS ALL DIE IN SIX MONTHS. TESLA IS DOOMED YOU GUYS. CALLING IT RIGHT NOW. APRIL 17 2016 TESLA DOOMED, RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW. Doomed to die, doomed to be consumed by a larger company after MUSK is bankrupt, Doomed to what? Small niche player? Do not get me wrong, I also do not think Tesla can survive in the current state they are, but I do think they will survive in a different business model, what that is could be many things, but I will say I do not see Tesla being independent for long. Perfect example of why the Tesla 3 is questionable for 2017 with 400,000 models on reserve is that the Powerwall introduced to great fanfair in April 2015 is still in reserve mode and they are looking for distributors, installers, etc. Yes great at $3,000 per 6.4KwH pack, but then you also need the solar panels and space. I love the idea of the solar wall, but wonder about the viability of Tesla getting it to market. Course the Powerwall is also dependant on the GigaFactory, which I have no idea if it is actually up and running yet or not. So many unknowns, but one, Tesla has shown off some very innovative tech.
  4. WOW, Talk about an Idiot. This from a guy who has stolen BILLIONS for the so called revival of Alfa, instrumental to the success of FCA long term rather than reinvest that money into the lines that already exist and bump up quality. If he really wanted to build an EV he would have done it already like GM rather than wait till everyone else has done it, and then follow along way too late and still loosing. This guy is not only NOT a car guy, but has NO business sense and the board really needs to kick his lazy ass out.
  5. And yet today I saw an E350 that was cloth seats and plasticy and looks as cheap as the $2 dollar hooker on the corner. Unless you buy new or used the upper level maxed out, MB has some very cheap looking auto's and a lack of style. Jellybean from bottom to top. Right now the only thing that has it's own style to stand out it the ancient G Wagon and the 4x4 squared or what ever the weird name is supposed to mean is their only interesting auto they make.
  6. Totally agree with you about the Apple Car = Apple Pie. This is the most pathetic bland auto ever. Maybe it will appeal to apple fans if it is totally self driving and you can not drive it at all except sit there and give it the destination then play with your fruit phone. I see this as a big failure for Apple.
  7. Trimming back the overblown Mini CUV lineup and adding a Sedan is the only way BMW will grow this autoline.
  8. We'll I have to give MB as they built a version of the 40 year virgin that I actually like. A lifted SUV. Now in regards to the 4x4² (4x4 squared) I am not sure what it really means, but I do love the big ground clearance, big tires, etc. It should sell well here. Biggest issue is that this is a very old platform and as Drew showed at one of the auto shows last year the mix n match of screws and parts so that there is no quality in how these over priced SUVs are built. I remember looking at the G wagon on display at the Seattle auto show and showing the family and my parents the crazy price and mixed n match screws. One of the reps said it was a show model only and that the real G wagons are all perfect only to have his BS story blow up when another rep came by to show off the SUV to another attendee and said it came off their lot at the Seattle MB dealer ship, just having arrived.
  9. Very cool review, learned lots, but the color leaves me blah on having any desire to buy it.
  10. Interesting how you can find testing on Nuremberg of the S class, C class and of course AMG, but nothing on the E class, or any other.
  11. We'll after the hail storm in texas, I would want the Coupe more than ever over a convertible!
  12. SMK where did you hear officially that the XT7 will be based on the Enclave? I have found nothing and heard nothing to this statement at all. We have no idea what the new platform will be. Yes the XT7 could be a stretched bigger version of the XT5 but nothing has really been stated yet.
  13. I agree with you Hyper, I know there are 300,000 folks who have preordered and plunked down $1000 to Tesla. I do wish GM would have done this with the BOLT. I think they could build allot of excitement with this auto. I think GM will deliver more than most expect and with a very clear message of 25 miles of charge per hour and a 9hr charge time for full means the BOLT is 225 miles of range compared to the 215 of Tesla. Yet I respect the conservative 200 mile range they quote. I really think the BOLT SCARED Tesla and finally forced them to move forward with the Tesla 3. Wether GM has many or few rebates depending on where they are at with the 200,000 sold and they do have strong sales of the VOLT, Tesla it is already known will not have them at all. My wife is very excited about the BOLT and we cannot wait for them to get here. I wish it would arrive sooner than later but totally understand GM as they do need to make sure this is spot on perfect.
  14. Bet you would have loved the version that has the corvette V8 engine in it. That would have Electra-fied you!!!
  15. So then BMW will attempt to have an CUV to compete against Cadillacs SUV. Be interesting to see if this X7 get compared to the XT7 from Cadillac or if people look at price and compete against Escalade.
  16. Sounds awesome just like my Cadillac dealership. Glad the experience is so solid. Yet with that, just like my dealership, this is just bland and does not speak luxury to me. In this case I would have to say that both MB and Cadillac have failed us in having a luxury attractive dealership.
  17. Does the car look good on it's own? My opinion - not really. But I have poor taste in luxury vehicles. Given the money, I'd beg for a CT6 coupe and pocket the $50-70k less it'd cost... +1 I would totally agree with you on that. I think the S class is totally over valued.
  18. Just under the top price, but I would be happy with this!
  19. So then you will have those that are all about the badge saying why should I get the higher end versions when it looks like the cheap CLA? Saving money, I am driving an MB. Those in the 100K class and above are probably not ever looking at the low end models and could care less.
  20. When Karma goes back into production and available this summer supposedly, I wonder how this will impact Tesla and their bland auto styling. Karma Automotive Will anyone care that it came from the defunct Fiskar Karma automotive? What about these other companies who all have anounced they would go into production by summer 2016 with availability by end of 2016 in the US. Detroit Electric Spirra EV Supercar Rimac One EV We are in interesting times!
