  1. Ouch, lucky it is an easy warranty fix.
  2. According to Channel 3 KCRA news as reported on msn.com, California has pushed through their first gas tax raise in 23 years to address their $130 Billion plus backlog of road repairs / upgrades. This will be covered by the following increases: Gas tax $.12 per gallon Diesel $.20 per gallon Auto Registration $25 - $175 per auto. They say this will add about $10 per month to the average driver's monthly cost. While many people say it is more expensive and will be tougher, they also say the roads are needed to be repaired. Interesting is while this got pushed through by the Governor, republicans in the state which are a minority in both houses say this is a contest between the house and senate of California to see how expensive they can make it to drive and live in California.
  3. So you're saying that this V6 powered regal will have 295 lb-ft of torque if they get the V6 compared to 260 on the turbo 4. Yet we know this Turbo 4 can also be had with 295 lb-ft of torque as they do it on the ATS. I still wonder as the ATS Turbo 4 is way more fun to drive than the V6 ATS.
  4. Cool on one hand but on the other. The Turbo 4 is a better engine as its torque is delivered lower, the V6 while having more HP, has only a smidge more torque than the 4 banger. They really need to stop the stupid design of high revving engines to create horsepower that is useless in most driving and give the torque that scoots off the line and up to speed and holds. Yea, the my engine is bigger than yours fans will still pay a premium for the V6, but I honestly do not see it as much of an improvement over the Turbo 4.
  5. Interesting, I can see to offload Opel/Vauxhall that they would commit to having some auto's built in the European plants, but eventually I think this will wind down.
  6. Hyundai and Kia have in the US and Korea plants to build their own engines especially for the Hyundai luxury line. but in the past and covering these years, doing a search seems to bring up a wide range of suppliers. Not sure if it is all accurate, but Mitsubishi is showing as a supplier as is Chrysler. Weird, hopefully someone knows more on this and can clarify for us.
  7. Agreed, Amazing that this type of manufacturing error happened today. Hopefully they can recoup the cost from the supplier of the motors.
  8. G. David Felt - Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.cheersandgears.com Hyundai and Kia possibly replacing 1.2 Million engines! According to a breaking story on King 5 News, Hyundai and Kia are recalling 1.2 million auto's for possible engine failure. 2013 - 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport & Sonata 2011 - 2014 Kia Sportage & Sorento Company has stated that debri from manufacturing was possibly left in the engine that will restrict oil flow to connecting rod bearings that will increase temperatures and cause premature wear and failure on the bearings. Dealerships will inspect engines and if wear is detected, will replace the block if needed at no cost. The Detroit Free Press also has this story but states that the recall is 1.4 million as they are also including Canada and South Korea models affected in this recall.
  9. Interesting is that Green car is stating that Daimler is pretty much woken up to the fact that Hydrogen will not happen due to excessive costs of the infrastructure and production of Hydrogen. Plus the fact that you can go double the range on diesel and with battery tech farther on battery than you can with Fuel cell. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1104842_early-mercedes-fuel-cell-drivers-sobering-assessment-to-industry http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1109713_did-mercedes-turn-its-back-on-hydrogen-fuel-cell-vehicles Clearly Daimler sees EV's as the full future right now.
  10. Cruze Diesel Review by Green Car http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1109762_2017-chevrolet-cruze-diesel-first-drive Came across this review of the cruze diesel and have to say I was impressed by the writeup, pictures and found the following two quotes to be very telling of just how well Cheverolet nailed the new Diesel Cruze. Quote 1 Driving the Prius for mileage was an annoying affair, requiring me to putter away from stoplights and hang out in the slow lane on the freeway as other cars passed, just so I could come up short on the EPA-estimated freeway figure. It was tiring and tedious. Quote While the diesel engine deserves a lot of praise, the reality is that I'd be ignoring the sublime 9-speed automatic. GM has just nailed this transmission. Over all this guy says this auto was snappy, responsive and quieter than a cruze gas ICO version. GM needs to apply these same traits to all their product lines.
  11. LOL, PSA, FCA, both the same mess different messed up leaders. Still question PSA game plan.
  12. I still question Sergio's plan of action for economic self sustaining auto production.
  13. Sadly GM did away with the home page to their Monte Carlo SS Performance upgraded auto project but someone at montecarloss.com did capture all the pictures and info. http://www.montecarloss.com/community/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1003486&page=all Like the Impala, I would love a ride like this one. Freakin HOT!
  14. @loki So NRE let you go? I checked out their web site: http://www.nre.com/about yet they do not say what NRE stands for? Wishing you the best in your search for new employment.
  15. @ccap41 Totally agree with you. Honda is weak and still not following. Their sheeple will still buy it, but it will be seeing plenty of tail lights from everyone else.
  16. Cmicasa might want these dice
  17. This was sold recently at Barrett-Jackson http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1966-CHEVROLET-IMPALA-SS-CUSTOM-2-DOOR-HARDTOP-137955 The rims are 18" front and 20" rear.
  18. @Cmicasa the Great is this not what yours would look like?
  19. There are a number of Escalades around Seattle driven by the seahawks players where the cadillac dealership I go to has put on the Supercharger performance package so in essence building a V-Edition Escalade ESV. These rock with 600+ HP and Torque. True, It should have been an SS. I am thinking of the 6.2L with supercharger for the Yukon and Escalade. This way we have an Escalade V and a Yukon Typhoon edition?
  20. Sweet Hopefully they are going to do the V edition on the Escalade and maybe some performance edition for the Yukon would be awesome too.
  21. If the STS rims are metric, then just use a metric to standard rim plate converter. Might make the tires stick out a bit farther now that I think about it. The rims on there are nice, but it seems everyone has those. I do like the Torque II best.
  22. Very Cool, excited to hear how she fly's!
  23. Nice Numbers, the Standard GLC63 is decent looking. Hate the GLC63 Coupe, no need for these ugly car wannabe cuv's. Wonder how many will really sell world wide? I expect the pricing to be high and as such limited sales. Be interesting to see what all gets cut from the portfolio down the road to make room for the onslaught of CUV versions.
