Current Equinox--anyone have experience with one?
G. David Felt replied to Robert Hall's topic in The Lounge
Have to totally disagree with you CCAP, the CX line sucks and after having spent extended time in the CX-9, I could never recommend the CX CUV lineup to anyone. Jeep, Ford, Chevy or GMC before the Mazda CX line. Terrible entry and exit, pathetic weak motors, tight cramped space and over all fit n finish leaves much to be desired. In fact the 4 I mention all have beeter Nav, Bluetooth, Andreoid / apple play systems than the Mazda. Nope, Pass on the Mazda CUV family. Not worth it at all. Having spent considerable time in the Mazda cuv line since the start of Dec, I have yet to get anywhere near the MPG stated for the CX-9 or CX-5. Those MPG figures are totally false in real world driving. -
CNG was a natural stepping stone away from OIL towards the day of EV auto everywhere. I now see no need for Hydrogen as EV is coming into it's own. Why waste R&D / Tax dollars on this when they should just focus on EV.

In washington state, we have plenty of them and most are the V6 that I see in the city and up on the pass. They seem to be solid AWD CUVs that just go. People I have talked to like them and I have not heard anything really bad other than those that have the 4 banger wish they got the V6. Seems smoother and a bit more get up and go. I suspect the newest redo on the CUV can change allot of this especially for the 4 banger, but if you are looking used, then you should go AWD V6 and do not worry, they seem to handle very well in snow. If you need new tires, I would go with Bridgestone Duellers. -
Bummer, sorry to hear you had to go through hell. I think I have everything ready. My mom and dad are back at the house and things for now have settled down, but I expect 2017 to be a rollercoaster year as both have poor health. Thanks for sharing and the support.

Tesla Sues Ex-Autopilot Director Over Stealing Secrets
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
There is nothing wrong with taking the knowledge one learns and applying it in a new and different way to make a better product. People do this all the time. Yes if you sign a non compete clause and leave to a new company or start your own and just copy the work you did at the old place, you should get the law thrown at you. We have brains and can rethink our knowledge in new and exciting ways and I believe many who learn new stuff, then think up better ways to do it leave to do just that, Prove they can create a better mouse trap that competes but is built totally different than the last place they worked.- 6 replies

That is what I thought, when on the web site they look Identical, but downloading the pictures the GMC does look darker but that I think is due to the lighting as they put the light on the Escalade and back lite the GMC.

I have to totally disagree with you on this statement. The mistake is of auto companies and marketing groups that say you always have to grow. BS, As long as the car is in the right size inside and out for the class of auto, then leave the size alone and just always make it better. Enlarging an auto is what has always screwed up the heritage and history of that auto. Mustang and Camaro owners do not want a car the same size as an Eldorado with 2 doors. We need to stop this lie that auto's will and must grow in size from generation to generation. Drew, same here in Washington. I believe it is the baby boomers as my dad loves the XTS but my mom refuses to give up her SRX and hates how low the car is so my dad traded in his truck for an SRX so they have two now. The XTS at the dealership I go to are almost all sports. They usually only have one lower tier and one or two higher. Seems according to my salesman that the bulk of buying is the v-sport. Crazy but cool I think.

Prosecute to the max and require the return of their Golden Parachute payouts. After all VW is going to need it to help pay the fines if they survive without going Bankrupt!

@hyperv6 I totally agree with you on Cadillac and would rather see the R&D spent on the Escalade and CUV lineup being the best in segment / Luxury Industry. If a convertible needs to be done, high end for sure and a 4 door sedan convertible would be the way to do it in honor of the cadillacs of past and what people really wanted. That might even make me buy a car again if they did it right with room for us big folks. 4 door convertible

How about room inside? How tall are you? is there still plenty of room once you set the drivers position for yourself to then get in back behind your seat without having to twist and turn or not?

Very Cool, look forward to some pictures of your new digs! Congratulations. -
Guess living in a rainy state with money, I rarely see a convertible, but plenty of coupes. I honestly cannot say when I last saw a convertible from Benz, BMW or really any other car brand except Mustang and Camaro. I will say that Silver Escalade is sexy. Imagine if the C pillar was black rather than silver and you would have a long floating roof on it till you got to the sexy tail lights.

I agree that they need a deeper CUV lineup, not sure about the car lineup. I honestly do not see a need for the convertible. Coupe yea, but convertible is such a small dying market that why waste the R&D dollars when there are far better areas to spend it in.

I totally agree with you, how hard would it have been to use the mold, change the center section to remove the rectangle and have a properly centered Holden logo. This just screams old GM cheap to me. I would question the wisdom of this when they could have so easily redone the grill that fits in there with a proper Holden badge.
