Rumorpile: Next-Generation Camaro To Head Down Under
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
Interesting, but as I love the Skyline of old with the Right side driving, why would Aussies not like a left hand Camaro that is different than all the right hand sided driving machines? -
Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
I am happy with my ASSumption. Yes It can make an ASS out of you. History of Italy and their heavy handed Socialist system and Unions is laziness. I have done much business with Italy and so far, every time I get into bed with an Italian business it is nothing short of a nightmare of garbage quality. I have finally decided nothing short of being paid millions will make me do business with Italy. I take asian, German and especially American built products over Italy any day. History of working on Italian auto's has proven to be garbage. Current 4C is garbage. There is no reason to expect anything better from the Giulia.- 114 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
It's an Alfa, stop moving the goal post to justify the 4 door sedan that no one can really expect to be any better based on history and existing products including the European links I posted that clearly shows both Products from Alfa as being garbage.- 114 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
My coworker bought his 4C from the Kirkland Dealership, much like the one they have on their showroom floor. http://www.fiatofkirkland.com/new-Seattle-2017-Alfa+Romeo-4C+Coupe-Base-ZARBAAA45HM222427 Loved it when he test drove it and I think was crazy as he paid MSRP, but since then the last month it has sat in the shop waiting for a variety of parts as he was given a loaner from the lot and not even an Alfa, they gave him a challenger which he says is fun but to bloated of a car for him to drive. History has repeated itself with their cars just not holding up. The links just continue to show that from Europe to America, Alfa and Fiat have not changed from being garbage auto's.- 114 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
First post the video of the C63 you want to compare to the V as sounding so sweet. The black edition is what comes up as their audio standard and so far not impressed. In regards to Fiat, unlike the US auto makers who worked to build better and better auto's and have proven themselves at least GM and Ford has at getting better, Fiat brought in garbage and still building garbage. They ignored their history and clearly felt that the current buyers would not be aware of their piss poor track record. Regardless of the model of 500, there is a ton of proof of all the motor, transmission, electrical problems even the 2017 models still have. http://www.carcomplaints.com/Fiat/500/ http://www.fiat500usaforum.com/forumdisplay.php?46-Fiat-500-Issues-and-concerns Forum is an amazing read of people who love the quirky little tin can but hate all the issues they have had with the auto. Examples of compliants on the auto for just 2014 alone: http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2014/fiat/500/engine/problem.aspx 2016 if you want something current http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2016/fiat/500/ Love the graph on True Delta that shows the areas of problems: http://www.truedelta.com/FIAT-500/problems-1014 Electrical / AC is first place Body / Trim is second place Engine third place Suspension fourth place Transmission fifth place In regards to Alfa, Build quality from end to end is still their number 1 problem not to mention just getting the new Alfa's to start and not stall out according to owners. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/alfa-romeo/giulietta/reliability My coworker who bought it as he loved the design has had enough of it spending most time in the shop. He has started the paperwork with Washington state to have the auto declared a lemon and force the dealer to refund 100% the money back. https://www.startmycar.com/alfa-romeo/156/problems http://4c-forums.com/ Seems no matter what model you have Quality is still a big issue and I doubt Fiat / Alfa will still be here in the states by 2025 with a piss poor product line.- 114 replies

I hear from my German and UK friends how hard it is to learn to drive and pass the tests and yet this must only be a UK / German thing as the rest of Europe seems to have many stupid drivers. Course this is to not say the US also has their fair share! Amazing

Not sure why but there is just something coarse, rough just off about the sound of the C63. CTS-V Love the sound of this over the C63 Europe does seem to like American fast auto's.- 114 replies

Very cool and interesting, but I wonder how well it will sell as the Wrangler crowd is pretty much good blue blood common folk. I wonder if this will sell well for them if at all. I would expect and they should do first the Cherokee, GS, etc. as those are more main line street auto's where a Hybrid would totally make sense.

Cadillac announces XT4 Crossover (not XT3) in Geneva
G. David Felt replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
Love the car but 6 inches is not that big of a deal to me in length. Hopefully the interior is able to make better use of the leg room as the CT6 as much as I love the auto is tight in the back seat for leg room to me. But then pretty much everything car wise is tight for me even my beloved V series. XT4 I wonder about this and hope they truly size the actual CUV properly and do not end up having to do an XT4.5. -
I see no sense in this, Yes some people love to have the top down, or smaller auto to drive, but the market show spoken that 2 door 2 person coupes are not what the bulk of people want. They have limited use and honestly the market is not supporting them. Why waste R&D money on 3 variations. I can see having 1 model and in this case make it the Supera with a stripped, mid and top end model.

GM ‘100 percent’ Commited To Holden Following Sale of Opel
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
I expect rebadge of all GMC products as the new Holden with some rebadge Buick as Holden for cars. -
Pretty Dead Market, I would be surprised if the ultra conservative board would green light this. I honestly see no reason to bring back the MR2 or even the Celica. Supra, yes, I can see that if done right.

Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
I have to disagree, extreme tree huggers hurt it, but plenty of Hummers still around here in the PNW and people love them for their off road capability. Every bit as good and in many ways better than Jeep. Hummer as an offroad GMC package would do great. Take the HX above and give it a GMC grill and call it the Terracross. have various packages including the ultimate would be the hummer package.- 114 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
Yes there is certain power with the Jeep name, but honestly, GM just needs a Hummer Edition on the GMC product line and produce the the HX concept. This would address the Wrangler needs of the GM family. Imagine this with a GMC grill. It would sell big time!- 114 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
True name recognition in the US with those two is big. That is the only reason I could see VW buy those two items. Pass on the rest. If VW did want to do it all in house though I believe they could.- 114 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Still Dreams of A FCA-GM Merger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
VW has many other options before even needing to think about FCA. What a joke. Yes, one could make a case for VW and FCA so VW gets Jeep and Ram and sells off Dodge/Chrysler to some China Company. Fiat/Alfa would also either be sold off or closed. Sergio just does not seem to get it, he is clueless about what other companies would need to fulfill the final pieces. VW has just about everything they need and might only be interested in Jeep / Ram. Course they could also easily build their own versions of those two which is what I really think VW would do.- 114 replies

Agree, I think there are far better options out there for 40K large than this auto. Honda has lost sight of their value option.

Spied: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
G. David Felt replied to FordCosworth's topic in General Motors
Makes ya wonder when the average Joe can see what seems like common sense ideas, why a company does not. Thinking about this, guess the cab would still be High Strength steel at least in the pillars for roll over protection while the skin is Aluminum. -
Spied: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
G. David Felt replied to FordCosworth's topic in General Motors
I actually could see the GM Full Size Pickups being 90% all aluminum except for the high strength Hydroform Frame and the inside of the bed being made of High Strength Steel. This way the outside of the truck is Aluminum and lightweight, but the bed being High Strength Steel can still withstand the punctures of commercial use. -
So True, probably brag about beating a V8 off the line and never state that they were still half a block from the next light when I am at the next light past that one.
