A "Would You Rather" Thread - Grosse Pointe Blanke Edition

@oldshurst442 Totally agree that so many have missed out on a classic movie that was awesome then and still now. I have it on DVD in my collection. Lincoln, no if's, and's, or butt's about it! -
We get it, you do not like Aluminum and you hate EVs. Yet the future is moving forward and Hybrids and EVs are the future. What is wrong with turning 1 brand into a focus of EV products that eventually would migrate into the other brands like Nissan?

Many reports are saying Manuals will be gone in the next 2-3 years if not sooner. You might not be able to find a manual except in an old auto.

Lexus News: Toyota Exec Admits Lexus' Sedans Need to Step Up
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Lexus
You are so right, took my sister auto shopping and she insisted she test drive a Lexus cuv. After driving it, she asked some questions to the sales person about why the interior was so identical to her friends Toyota, the sales person tried to say it was not and this is what luxury looks like. She took his card and we left, she then test drove the Buick Envision and loved it and said this is what Luxury is like, quiet, quality interior, what she would expect from Lexus. End result she has bought her Buick Envision, ordered the way she wants it.- 27 replies

Some how , this will do little for them to survive long term. I still think more name plates will die in the next 5-10 years.

Happens when your 280lbs 6'6" tall. Cars after the mid 90's lost the space and comfort for us big guys. After all the ultimate Cadillac that was roomy and comfortable to me was the 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham!- 27 replies

Industry News: Why Are New Car Sales Falling? Higher Prices
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
WOW, Common sense, raise minimum wage for no work experience and call it a living wage and you end up with forced inflation and everything else rising in cost. There is no such thing as a living wage. There is also too much gov oversight in regards to requiring auto's to have all the damn nanny devices. Sorry, but only about 15-20% max of the required safety devices I am really interested in. Backup Camera is very nice, 360 camera also very nice, air bags cool and HUD. Otherwise the auto breaking I am not interested in, neither am I interested in blind spot warnings and so many more. This also has increased cost of auto's and we need more alert drivers paying attention to driving, not idiots playing with their smartphone ignoring the responsibility of driving. Make a choice peeps, learn to drive responsibly, pay a taxi or take the bus. -

BMW News: BMW Still Believes In Diesel, Sends 540d to U.S.
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
Best Friend had a M3, Twin Turbo V8 and it spent time in the shop waiting for parts as much as he got to drive it. He said the best day for him was the day he bought it, the day he traded it in on a Porsche. He says the M label is greatly overrated especially now that he understands why Porsche fans love their cars. He could never go back to the over rated and underperforming M label. Before this he had an AMG and said he would take the M label over the AMG and now Porsche over both of them. Interesting is he did drive the most recent bad boy from Chevrolet, the corvette Z07 and said dollar for dollar that is a hell of a sports car. Better than most supercars from europe. I built what I would want on a corvette and this is it, Z07 Black Rose painted Corvette. -

Pecking Order of the Jeep 4x4 systems? Thanks to Drew, I had overlooked the web page that Jeep has on their powertrain systems. http://www.jeep.com/en/4x4/ Now that we have this great resource, I need some help in figuring out the pecking order of where things line up or are similar. Why you ask? Easy in the sense that my son who bought out of college his first new auto, a 2012 Jeep Patriot Latitude Trail rated edition is now ready to step up to a nicer auto and has decided to get a Jeep Grand Cherokee. We have tested them and he pretty much has all the details hammered out except for one question he asked me. I have searched and searched various jeep forums and no one really has a good feeling for where the various 4x4 systems line up in comparison to other products. So the question is as follows: Where does the Patriot Latitude Trail Rated system line up in comparison to the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 system options? Is it between the the Quadra Drive II and Quadra Trac 1 system or below the Quadra Trac 1 system? My son wants equal to what he already has and is not sure if he goes with the all black Jeep GC Altitude edition if he is moving up or down in the 4x4 department? If the system is above the Altitude Quadra Trac 1 system, then he will have to go with a higher trim level. He is trying to get as much as possible by staying in his chosen price range. So anyone know how the Jeep 4x4 systems line up against each other, especially the trail rated program?

So true, even though I am a computer engineer and love all things computerized, I still love my books in printed form. Heck, at least is the power goes out, I can still read the book and fix things by candle light! Printed Books rule especially over a Kindle!

Totally agree, saw an old Jaguar on the highway. Have not seen one like it in a long time, older guy and gal, all dressed up in sunday best. Very cool to see such old classics out and about especially on a drizzle day of Seattle.

@A Horse With No Name Totally agree, focusing on the awesome auto's.

Everyone has their right to say what they want but your statement came across to me in the way it was posted as negative and you never expanded on it. Just a negative reading post. So since I do not remember everyone's posts, mine I feel is valid in questioning you since you seem to be lately just ranting on how great the VW auto is. Then you post what seems like a negative post of how could you buy this. I am happy you find them great.

LOL, I spend more time than most on the lots exploring and test driving cars. They are a passion of mine and while I have not driven every single version GM has, I have driven enough to question your statements about them and have doubt about you driving every single one of them.

FAILURE, I doubt it will sell in enough quantity to offset the price of building it, shipping it and supporting it in the US. Like SMK, I am surprised by this and they must be grasping at straws for CAFE. -
Kinda like the phone app you can use to track you kids and make sure they are where they say they are. Cool!
