  1. I thought the Range Rover offered those jump seats that fold up on both sides of the back area.
  2. I wish I could say you are right, but in talking to coworkers in the Hightech industry. More and more are questioning the Luxury side of BMW and MB due to the rampant excessive mid to low end models running all over. You really do find a ton of them all over the streets now. Seems the brands that are truly only high end luxury and performance have changed and some are questioning if the old guard is really true luxury or not. It is a very weird area we are in. Weirder yet is many say they would rather have the Luxury Tesla over MB or BMW as it is harder to get and even without the Tesla 3, more exclusive along with the performance part. A trend of different thinking is happening I think, at least on the west coast.
  3. Did not think about it till looking at the Yellow Rubicon again, but the design of the Roll cage and with the top down, it really does have a military style look to it that will I am sure appeal to the gun toting peeps of North America. I also saw a Mongolian film this week, subtitles with my mongolian friends called Single Ladies 3, third in the series but the first one to have english subtitles and be shown outside of the country. Very funny movie, but the star of the movie was here in Seattle to introduce the film and talk about it and the Purple Rubicon 4 door wrangler in the movie is actually hers. Come to find out Toyota is the brand to own in the country except if you want the best off road, then the citizens believe only Jeep gives you that and the Wrangler is the best one to have followed by Grand Cherokee. It is very interesting.
  4. So are you saying it should have the 3rd seat or since they do not sell many LX, if the market questions show the 3rd seat was not a big deal for selling the LX, dropping it is just a way for increased profits for Lexus. Just trying to understand where you stand on the 3rd row seat.
  5. Totally agree, I think the center weight can be dialed in for a superior performance ride much the way F1-EV racing has done this.
  6. I know our resident MB fan SMK will come up with a reason for having more AMG, but I feel like MB has lost their focus and way by watering down the AMG line with excessive models just like MB is more of a Toyota like company with luxury than the luxury company they used to be. Yes I know they always sold cheaper stuff in Europe, but for the US market, they are no longer the Luxury only auto company they used to be. Sad.
  7. Smart Move, no problem selling the new ones, but this will help those sitting on the fence and not wanting to spend the money to buy up the remaining ones on the lots now.
  8. Guess I have not looked close enough at the Highlander, so it has the same 3rd row kiddy seats? Full size SUV, just have the 3rd seat as a Delete option like GM and Ford does with their full size. I bet more than less still want it.
  9. Totally agree that Bolts on the exterior like we see with the Wrangler, Hummer, Ford Troller is fine and a more butch off road type look. Interior, they should have cleaned that up 10+ years ago.
  10. I have to agree that I think VW is missing out on a bigger picture of allowing A La Carte choices. Taking a page from the US Truck lines with pretty much the ability to choose packages or individual components but at a higher cost is a good thing. This would allow people to get what they really want and ignore those things they do not. Clearly the LA Auto show had a CUV/SUV theme, I am surprised there was not more concepts of potential future products with alternative powertrains at this show. Hoping that Detroit has a bunch of this stuff. Looking for something special out of Cadillac as well as the whole GM family for EV CUV's as well as other OEMs.
  11. The Lexus SUVs really have me scratching my head! Stretch a mid size CUV for a 3rd seat that really is only good for little kids and then remove the 3rd row from your full size SUV that is more inline with the competition. What are they thinking as it just does not make sense. It leaves me thinking that someone at Lexus is a car fan only and really only cares about the CUV/SUV cause they have to have something in that category but does not want to spend time or investment in it. Very out of touch thinking as Toyota / Lexus is already playing catchup to the rest of the industry for EV/Hybrids. Why miss out on the way the market has changed away from cars?
  12. Interesting that Petrol tax is on average 61 cents per liter versus 56 cents per liter for Diesel. UK has the highest taxes. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/road-and-rail-transport/10668970/British-fuel-tax-highest-in-Europe.html They truly play more than us.
  13. Crazy as I did not see them but really appreciate you posting them here. Thank you. Good to know they had it.
  14. Nice looking coupe design sedan. I wonder how much this will hurt existing sales since multiple outlets say this is a more luxurious version compared to the existing Jetta.
  15. Interesting love the change of design language from their current hideous design language. Sadly I hate that coupe back end and wish it was more true SUV style. To me such a waste of potential usable space and letting the sun in to the back of the auto with a coupe style rear hatch.
  16. Warm coco brown was not on their pallet in the last few years, you could not get any color you wanted unless you went custom and paid a crazy price. Part of the standard colors available is what I was commenting on and that seems to now be part of their 2019 pallet. Interesting comparison of the 2018 Escalade interior dash to the 2019 G-Wagon dash.
