Any Idea who built this truck? Cool looking! Cool old truck, looks like they took the front end of a car and added a bucket to it. Liked the look of the 3/4 ton Studebaker Pickup.

I honestly see no reason for the continued investment in Hydrogen producing electricity to drive an electric auto. The amount of energy needed to produce the hydrogen and then break it apart to produce electricity with only a water vapor is beyond common sense at this time. I honestly can only see a few of these being made for the LA market that has the only few Hydrogen fuel stations. I wonder how much government money is being spent to off set this research project?

Agree, I am also scratching my head as to why have the Q8 so close in size to the Q7 and only 2 rows at that.

XT5 comes in at: 189.5 inch length, 112.5 inch wheelbase, 75 inch width. Q8 comes in at: 197.64 inch length, 118.11 inch wheelbase, 80.32 inch width. Q7 comes in at: 199.6 inch length, 117.9 inch wheelbase, 77.5 inch width. So yes, you could say this is the next size up category but almost identical to the Q7 in size. Interesting

Fixed it for you as I assume you meant the XT5. I will have to disagree with you. XT5 has the more SUV brick look over the overused Coupe look. Also not sure why as my eyes could be playing tricks on me but I think the XT5 has the longer hood which is a nod to the cadillac of old days with a long front hood. Audio looks more like a car that they pumped up on Steroids compared to a more traditional SUV look on the XT5

Frogger I did not think about it till I compared side by side and your right very similar profiles for these two CUVs. Thinking on what Frogger has said, I take the Cadillac over the Audi as I like the stronger brick look over the coupe look, but very similar.

I understand the points your both making and wonder myself also, I assume everyone sets the seat at the lowest point to measure but then where on the seat are they measuring from and is it a consistent point for all auto's in that class. One would hope that the SAE Standards would cover this, but from what I have read they do not seem too and in this is where the rub is. I would also think they would move the front seats all the way forward to maximize the rear seat leg room, but then how many people really drive that way versus having the seat all the way back and then measuring rear seat room. So much wiggle room on how one measures interior space. Very crazy I think. Weird the inconsistent nature in updates that they have posted on that link. A few years in a row shows updates yearly, then every 3 to 5 years and back to yearly. Really weird on how they update them. The SAE standards must be written by lawyers due to all the gobbly gook that is written in them. sad

I understand the measurements, but there seems to be no industry standard on where they are taken at and the ATS seats I know for a fact go lower into the floor than the others so I can get the head room I need. I really wish there was a set standard for where one measures the interior room at.

Outstanding write up on SuperCruise versus Tesla Autopilot and I can accept the reasons that the writer gave the win to Tesla on specific sections of Criteria. Capturing driving actions and feedback to enhance Autopilot where Supercruise does not gather that info to make it better is a big win. Over all a tie depending on where you live and your road conditions, I totally agree that an extended drive in both is warranted. I also like the clarity of why MB self driving system is terrible and how they have since buried the self driving mode of MB due to far to many issues. Like @balthazar stated, long read, but worth it and all the videos that show just not Supercruise but the others out there too. Thanks for Posting!

Have to disagree with you. The ATS is small yet I can actually fit into the driver's seat while no one can sit behind me. The 3 series and MB C-Class I actually cannot fit into to drive safely as my knees are on the dash. Yes that is getting 6'6" tall me with 40" inseam so long legs into the auto, but my knees do not push on the dash in the ATS compared to the BMW or MB products. So much for my Heritage land building something that can actually fit me.

Agree a huge price drop, but one that I think was needed as I felt their original pricing was over the top in comparison to what you got for that price. They are now very competitive and I think they will grab sales with this new pricing.

Sounds Like we need to put the ocean on a diet to reduce it's weight while also reducing the greenhouse gas production. In other news, I somehow started 2018 off with a pinched disk in my lower back that is also pinching both nerves into my hips, I have never felt such discomfort before and limited mobility.

Sounds like a price war is about to erupt in the US to help offset the auto companies R&D as they work to bring EVs into the market. Interesting times we live in.

Could the Plug-in Hybrids be a move to capture state and federal discounts I wonder?

Europe as well as asia had displacement taxes and they are all looking to up them to push the autos into EV mode. I think they do not sell enough to justify the high cost and even the rich while many here say they do not care about the tax or gas price, actually do. Just sad that european automakers can only look at 20 to 30 miles on pure electricity. when it has been proven you can do so much better. Pathetic engineering and vision by these companies.

Agree TOTALLY! The concept had me interested, this warmed over refresh is just Meh, I bet still tight back seating which means the Escalade beats this as a luxury SUV. Yes SMK, G-Wagon has better offroad capabilities that I think these sales only help them to reduce R&D for the military version as you never see the G-Wagon off road much if ever except for the extreme videos on YouTube.

Electric would be a faster way to pump up! Just Saying!

That dash is a tragedy for me and a deal breaker, could never own an auto like that.

Sorry it was not clear, pinched nerves in my hips and low back distracting me this week. Yes it does happen sometimes, but mostly no, you do not find the upgrading in the same badge that I have seen.
