  1. Thank you, that is some great info I have learned today. Even, then, I would still pass on a turbo.
  2. That seems to be Fiat's real name, Money Pit! For those that wonder what colors and love this car I give you this to help you decide!
  3. Turbo's have not really changed, yes they have improved the material to deal with the heat inside the turbo and in the core engine and created better coolers, but the over all technology has not really changed from the 80's to today. As such, both Turbo and Supercharged motors have a much higher maintenance schedule than most people are used to since the Japanese introduced 100,000 mile tune ups to the world. Due to that, I do wonder how these higher pressure engines will last and as I have stated above, I have seen more and more Modern turbo cars blowing smoke due to the rings being fried. I have to question just how long even today's new Turbo cars will last compared to NA engines.
  4. @oldshurst442 I hear what your saying but I would take this used Porsche over the 124 as I posted in my response above. This baby to me looks better.
  5. I get that point and fair enough in the body size thing and yet I get the attraction to Porsche and if I am going to pay $30,000 or less and want a true road ripping car regardless of where it comes from. I can find plenty of very low mile Porsches here in Washington for $30,000 or less that would be better than the Miata. Autotrader search 1998 Porsche Boxster with 36,611 miles for $12,687 convertible. This is a freakin awesome deal. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=467544212&zip=98043&referrer=%2Fcars-for-sale%2Fsearchresults.xhtml%3Fzip%3D98043%26startYear%3D1981%26sortBy%3DderivedpriceDESC%26maxPrice%3D30000%26incremental%3Dall%26firstRecord%3D0%26endYear%3D2018%26makeCodeList%3DPOR%26searchRadius%3D25&startYear=1981&numRecords=25&maxPrice=30000&firstRecord=0&endYear=2018&makeCodeList=POR&searchRadius=25&makeCode1=POR&modelCode1=BOXSTE
  6. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Damn Icy roads in Pennsylvania. http://abc7ny.com/traffic/truck-carrying-vodka-bottles-overturns-on-i-95-ramp/2751923/?sf175615068=1 Semi flips carrying Vodka on I-95 ramp.
  7. OK, I turned 50 on November 27th just a couple weeks back and I still have not gone through a midlife crisis according to my kids and wife, so I guess I just do not get it as the Miata while well built is just a cramped uninspiring auto. Does it handle well yes, but I do not get what is so great about the car. The American Pony cars are far superior to me in handling and fun factor. For the fun and handling but in luxury form we have the ATS coupe. So covered no matter what end you want. I really do not get the appeal to the cracker jack box Miata, but then that is my problem I guess as I see Zero Appeal to that car.
  8. Drew, you nailed it with this last statement. I know many who bought here in washington state the 1986 Turbo Diesel Ranger and none made it past a couple years before the engines blew and needed new motors. Many thought they could ignore the stronger built diesel motors even then and just drive them. Sadly I have yet to see any of the mid 80's Turbo Rangers survive and still driving today.
  9. ATS starts at $37,595 Fiat 124 per the story above starts at $28,195 If the roughly $9,500 is more than you want to spend, I would then go Camero starting at $25,905 or Mustang starting at $25,585 as both I think are superior to the Miata or 124 and can handle on par or better. Just my preference, but while I know the American auto's are heavier, a quality driver can handle the added weight and match or beat the Miata/124 duo same as I think they can beat the Subaru/Toyota duo of BRZ/86. Again, just MHO.
  10. I get the point you're making, but would take an ATS Coupe over a miata or 124.
  11. @Cmicasa the Great Different strokes for different folks. Blondes, dishwater blondes just do nothing for me. Brunettes are a nice, asian are hot. Park Min Young I think is Beautiful And back on topic of Auto's while too small for me, I do have to say that the Kia Cub is a cute CUV that I think would do well in the global market.
  12. I know some are excited that this rebadge Mazda Miata is out there giving Fiat some much needed quality in their auto line. Yet the car is just Meh to me. Small, tiny and just does nothing to excite me. Miata is the same way. So many other exciting cars to drive over this.
  13. All Looks good so far, thanks @Drew Dowdell
  14. Would not kick her out of my bed, still a lovely lady but is aging older than I think her age is.
  15. Maybe this will make people happy or at least a chuckle. WOW, talk about Feds Crushing Auto's Search https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=feds crushing autos&qs=n&form=QBIRMH&sp=-1&pq=feds crushing autos&sc=0-19&sk=&cvid=23221C9786D946C3BEFE5C24DA6DAC03 This bing search shows you just how serious the feds are about taking criminal rides and destroying them. OUCH.
  16. Very Cool My only concern is how much of an increase in cost will it add for just a suspension / looks package. Converting to RHD will also really jack up the price I would think. Gonna be interesting to see what they create.
  17. Transporter series is awesome! Baby Driver was better than expected.
  18. So it would appear that no state or district requires a blood test to get married any longer except for Montana. https://www.usmarriagelaws.com/marriage-license/premarital-requirements/blood-test.shtml
  19. At the rate MB is going they will have gone totally cheapo opening the doors to hideous ricerized versions of their cars.
  20. I thought it was common sense to not marry your relative, be it first, second or third cousin. Do some states actually make you get tested before you get married? Did not know this if it is true.
  21. H'mm, guess they see more than I can see in the pics as I do not see the details they point out. Best of Luck Cadillac!
  22. One has to wonder why bother with the V6 when the Turbo 4 Hybrid system will out gun it at every level. Just offer the base 4 and hybrid system. One wonders what they will do for the interior which is a bit tight for bigger people as they also do an outside refresh. Will the Cherokee get new slimmer seats so you gain room inside?
  23. Right now I say 50 to 100K miles as I am seeing more and more Turbo motors especially Audi that are smoking with burnt rings and over all suck. My history with early turbo's has not been good at all and I see plenty of turbo Subaru's that do not seem to last past 100K. I acknowledge that some on this forum have had long life in a turbo, especially subaru. For me, not so. I will acknowledge that we have gotten better with creating longer life components that go into a ICE auto. Diesel has shown that turbo's can go long life, but have not seen it in regular Petro auto's yet.
  24. True and yet we are seeing more and more Billionaires that are going EV. So I would have to say even they are questioning the need of such a big guzzling engine.
