    I MISS BILL! It doesn't matter what party you belong to, this is good-natured political humor from a show on Canadian TV, where a comedian said he misses Bill Clinton.... "Yep, that's right - I miss Bill Clinton!" He was the closest thing we ever got to having a real black man as President. He plays the saxophone. He smoked weed. He had his way with ugly white women. Even now? Look at him .... his wife works, and he doesn't! And, he gets a check from the government every month. Manufacturers announced today that they will be stocking America's shelves this week with "Clinton Soup," in honor of one of the nations' distinguished men. It consists primarily of a weenie in hot water. Chrysler Corporation is adding a new car to its line to honor Bill Clinton. The Dodge Drafter will be built in Canada. When asked what he thought about foreign affairs, Clinton replied, "I don't know, I never had one." The Clinton revised judicial oath: "I solemnly swear to tell the truth as I know it, the whole truth as I believe it to be, and nothing but what I think you need to know." Clinton will be recorded in history as the only President to have sex in the Oval Office between the Bushes.

    You clearly have never raced or built auto's that could go triple digits. GM 4 spd tranny's can and do go 150mph. You just do not want to even consider let alone accept that Americans can and do build fast auto's that used lesser geared transmission than the Germans.

    Custom chip, tune for the SS and no problem hitting that speed. My GMC Suburban has a custom built 402, 505 HP 551 ft-lbs torque with custom chip, 425 posi diff and custom suspension and tranny and yes it has trashed more performance cars than many thought possible. Never say never when it comes to engineers and our toys especially when I grew up building racers as my dad had his own repair shop business. Some of us still know how to turn a wrench and build things better than the OEM.

    Seems weird that there would not be a rollback option. In today's age of overair or over internet pushed updates, rollback feature should be a defacto standard to allow people who have issues to go back to their last stable build. Seems Auto Nav systems are in the heydays of Windows ME which was a nightmare for anyone that remembers that bloody OS.

    I think GM needs to use their Skateboard EV platform for an EV Escalade that optimizes interior space and refinement of the luxury category. I will be expecting this of the germans and Asian auto companies too.

    I can totally see myself going 150 mph plus in this or many SUVs. Course already done it so no big deal.

    Yes and no, the GLS and X7 clearly compete on size and 3 rows with the Escalade and Navigator and today really outside of auto enthusiasts, who really cares if BOF or UniBody if it can both do the same thing. As some have pointed out over and over, the American products never really go off road any more than the MG or BMW products. I think the next luxury level will be when you get the EV versions of these SUV/CUV products.

    True, for the 450 that is a sharp monochromatic look with just a hint of chrome. I wish GM would offer in both the Escalade and Yukon a monochromatic look as well as a black chrome look. I know this is a custom job, but this Yukon all black chromed out is very sharp to me.

    I figured you would say that and yet the bottom GLS and the AMG is almost all Monochromatic and yet their luxury packages include all the chrome as I posted in the one picture from their web site above that shows chrome. Including link so others can quickly check it out. https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicles/class/class-GLS/bodystyle-SUV This one even includes a front chrome bumper in addition to the roof rails, around the windows, front grill and logo. Yes you can get Silver wheels, but they also offer chrome and of course the Aluminum rims with painted accents. Rear bumper even appears to have Chrome All pictures from their own web site. MB does have chrome on their SUV's. Just depends on the trim level. 550 seems to have much more than the 450 level.

    Size is almost identical, 2 inches different. From a comparison standpoint they seem to both hit the same check marks except one. Current GLS Chrome Points: Rims - Check Door Handles - Check Around the WIndows - Check Roof Rails - Check Front Grill - Check Current Escalade Chrome Points: Rims - Check Door Handles - Check Around the Windows - Check Roof Rails - Check Front Grill - Check Door bump strip - Brushed aluminum Only thing extra over the GLS.

China on the other hand has actually had a keel laying and is under construction.     Yet the GLS has SubPar fuel economy per all the reviews and sorry SMK but the dash is a mess and not elegant or luxury at all. The GLS might out sell the Escalade due to Badge snobs and global sales, but the escalade says Luxury Visually and physically.
