I would like to add the Extended Length that they build for China to the US market for Luxury level cars. That would so get me back into a car. CT6 - L V-Sport

Discussion:2019 BMW M850i xDrive: The 8 Series Returns With 523-HP V8
So based on 2017 sales, 15,888 of the total S-Class were sold in the US and a total of 79,400 sedans, coupes and convertibles world wide. Seems like the convertible makes up about 10% world wide at best. The report states they sold 600 of the Pullman S-Class version, , 10% of convertibles / coupes and the rest are 4 door sedans. So that would make about 1,588 or the Convertibles or about 132 units a month. https://www.daimler.com/documents/investors/reports/annual-report/daimler/daimler-ir-annual-report-2017.pdf Not totally sold that the 8 Series will be profitable let alone worth the R&D, but guess if they build it off a Class 6 line, then maybe.

That one car...
Always wanted one, but was in college at the time so never got to buy one or drive it. 1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe. https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2017/12/16/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1987-chevrolet-monte-carlo-ss-aerocoupe/ This is a sweet clean fully loaded one with only 37K miles on it in Silver. I wanted one in Maroon, but I have seen these with an updated powertrain package from GM Performance that makes these auto's fly. If I could I would love to drive this 1988 Monte Carlo that was modernized and highlighted on The Block website with a modern Powertrain. LS376/525 6.2L LS3 525 HP / 486 lb-ft of torque connected to a T56 Super Magnum six-speed manual transmission. These connect and cruise systems are just AWESOME! http://www.theblock.com/?article=cd21a687-34ae-4f7f-9b83-b8c840aae880#news @balthazar I bet you would love to test drive this C10: http://www.theblock.com/?article=dbb4f11c-e1fa-45f3-8c5b-0f1352896ce3#news LT1 powered

Simplified Charging for EV auto's
Seems we have idiot sales people that do not bother to learn how to sell electric or plug-in hybrids and as such a company has moved forward with a simple chart to show the type of chargers and speeds the autos have. https://www.linkedin.com/in/mteske/ The link above is to the founder of this Oregon based company for their chart system. Color indicates the type of chargers the auto uses and the number represents the speed of recharging. Seems straightforward.

I have noticed a couple times till this morning walking to work that I saw 2 different colored Lincoln MKT Town Cars being used by Lyft services. I do wonder as we go Hybrid across the board and EVs become more common. Will taxi / private car services go with CUVs for the interior space?

Audi CEO Arrested for Diesel Scandal
http://fortune.com/2018/06/18/audi-ceo-rupert-stadler-arrested/ According to Fortune.com web site, they are reporting that Monday Morning the German Government arrested Audi CEO Rupert Stradler for his role in the 2015 VW diesel emissions scandal. They are reporting that he was arrested due to the highly potential risk of suppressing and tampering with evidence related to the Dieselgate as the news has come to call this issue. VW has confirmed that he has been arrested and have no further news to report. This comes at a time when Munich Prosecutors raided his apartment and widened their probe into board members as VW agreed to pay a $1.2 Billion US or $1 Billion Euros fine for the ongoing scandal. VW currently has legal proceedings in 55 countries as well as facing stock-market manipulation in Germany. Bloomberg has reported that VW alone set aside $27 Billion Euros to cover this but that they have surpassed this and this does not take into account the costs that will come from Audi and Porsche for their own Diesel emission cheating auto's. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-06-18/audi-ceo-stadler-taken-into-custody-in-diesel-probe

Even back East they swap out the VW Engine for an LS!

Yes there was a ton of VW products and no I only saw 1 TDi that was gutted internally and the guy was showing off that he had put an LS motor into the car. Diesel is not a desired auto powertrain here.

Did a 500 Mile road trip yesterday, over the North Cascade Highway, back over Highway 2. The PNW German Auto group had their yearly get together in the town of Leavenworth. A german town that has embraced their roots for tourism after the lumber mill shut down. Have to say I really like this Matte Purple Audi. Stopped at a fruit stand and found this which was very cool.

Saw an Oldsmobile Alero in Mint condition. Have been seeing alot of older auto's posted in Estate sales which is where I am thinking this came from as I have not seen an Alero in forever let alone in just amazing shape like it just came off the sales floor.

I believe except for the US market, most E-Class sales are still into the Taxi Business in Europe.

IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2018, Surprise Prius and Ioniq lost out to Kia Niro
IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2018, Surprise Prius and Ioniq lost out to Kia Niro http://www.iihs.org/iihs/ratings/TSP-List Amazing but for 2018, the Kia Niro bested the Prius and Ioniq as IIHS top Safety pick plus rating. Interesting observation is that this auto beats everyone else out as long as you have all the options checked as the Base Niro is good just not as good as the Niro that was used for testing.

Your E-Class is the world's best in YOUR EYES, The only reason it is successful is the cheap purchases MB makes for the mass Taxi community to buy them. Otherwise just a Meh car, clearly no time spent in a CT6 as it is superior in many ways and equal in others to the E-Class.

Bet a Fleet mgr would not turn down Uber or Lyft from buying them. Fusion Hybrid police package does make an interesting used auto purchase when they hit that magic 100,000 miles retirement point for the police department.
