  1. Good write up, very interesting and for me it confirmed that this car falls in the same category of BLAH car as the Prius. Both have ugly dashes, exterior is that blah coupe design that is so tiring and right now is just barely better than the gas cars in mileage. I would rather just have a pure electric over this.
  2. Interesting ?, he squeals like a little girl!
  3. I agree that the AMG is an awesome line just like Cadillac's V edition that I still do not get why they have not done a V-edition to every product. Escalade, XT5, etc. Yet the worst part is also their most common BLAH part. From the S-Class to the A-Class they all look the same. On top of this, stop duplicating with a Roadster and Cabriolet. Just do a freaking convertible for the few that want it, no need to have one in every product line that sells less than 100 a month. I truly think there is an excessive waste of car duplication in MB which also is a waste of money. They are in their hey day and right now it is great they are so profitable to waste money on excess, but this is also how Cadillac fell and right now, the German brands have allot of black eyes due to the diesel emission scandal and other issues. If all was great in Daimler, they would not have broken the company down into 3 stand alone divisions. Starting next year, a true picture will show on just how well Mercedes-Benz is doing now that the other profit sections are broken out from them.
  4. At least it is not bloated with excessive models like Mercedes-Benz. Interesting how they innerchange roadster & cabriolet for in essence just being a convertible. Plus you also have the AMG version of just about every one of these cars. Comparing the sales numbers to this extensive list of cars and the listing of of them shows they could cut 50% easily and not really affect sales. They might as well just make 3 really good models only since they have so many versions of each one listed here. 5. WOW, Amazing just how big the European Hornet is compared to the US. Glad to see this El Camino was recovered from the suckers. OUCH, the Queen shown at the end is monstrous!
  6. Totally agree with GM, there is still valid business to be had here. No reason to abandon the car business like Ford is doing. I still see a need to consolidate the auto business, way to many models, name plates and build capacity. I think China and Europe have pain ahead of them in a consolidation that is coming.
  7. At least they kept the communist look with a modern power train.
  8. And cost much less per month to fuel.
  9. I have to say that in Korea, China and Japan they are truly "Dare Greatly" in marketing and sales. Here that motto has fallen flat on its face.
  10. I am mixed on the style, but have to give them Huge Kudo's for giving a modern spin on a communist old car with a 21st century power train. It would for sure make you stand out in a crowd here in the USA.
  11. I like the stories that all talk about Musk being removed as CEO and left as a boardmember, chairman possibly and bringing in a man who could get Tesla on a profitable track Mulally.
  12. https://media.jaguar.com/news/2018/08/jaguar-i-pace-sets-production-ev-record-lap-time-weathertech-raceway-laguna-seca-ahead To quote Jaguar's press release: Jaguar has set a production EV record lap time of 1:48.18 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the new all-electric I-PACE performance SUV ahead of its display at the 2018 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
  13. According to a story by Autoblog, Kalashnikov is showing off a retro Soviet era electric car. Yes this is the AK-47 gun builder making something a bit more peaceful and silent in their newest venture. Using a 90kWh battery pack, this bad boy is good for 215 miles and a 0-60 mph time of 6 seconds. What are your thoughts? LIke it, pass,???? https://www.autoblog.com/2018/08/24/kalashnikov-electric-car-prototype/
  14. http://www.piaggiogroup.com/en/archive/press/piaggio-group-vespa-elettrica-go-production-september October you can start ordering either the Vespa Elettrica or the Elettrica with range extender. Sales will be immediately available in Europe, and the US and Asia will start early 2019. According to a story by Autoblog, the all electric version is 62 miles of range, the extender version is 31 miles pure electric and a couple hundred with the generator. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/08/27/vespa-elettrica-electric-scooter-production/
  15. Have to say that the Korea Instagram site for Cadillac has much better marketing than our own US Intagram site. http://www.cadillac.co.kr/
  16. WOW, That is cool but also one loud truck. Weird, that if you go back in and edit your post afterwards and click at the end, then press spacebar, the YouTube link will then properly post.
  17. Weird, this just takes me to a generic Youtube page,
  18. It will be bashed by some who can only hate changing technology, but for those that love sports cars and pushing boundaries, this is a home run hit on all fronts from the exterior style, to the interior options of single or dual seating to the power train. Audi has pushed the boundaries of WOW!!! Now who will step up to challenge them? The other German brands have not yet.
  19. Of course this was to never happen but I bet SEC will still fine him as he played the Short sellers. This was a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum. I find the investment in Lucid Motors to be very interesting. Karma is another that will be interesting to see where it goes. I honestly do not expect all these new electric startups to survive past 2025. Some will be bought out, others will just fold and 1 or 2 might survive, mostly those that open up shop in China and give away a chunk of their wealth and technology with it.
  20. The News is abuzz with stories by various sources that Elon Musk needs to be replaced as CEO of Tesla, leaving him as non-executive Chairman of the company. Bob Lutz is now officially on record that for Tesla to survive, the board should replace Musk with Mulally. https://carbuzz.com/news/ex-gm-boss-bob-lutz-thinks-elon-musk-should-step-down-as-tesla-ceo https://www.autoblog.com/2018/08/20/bob-lutz-tesla-elon-musk-ceo/ https://bestsellermagazine.com/news/How-to-fix-Tesla?-Let-Mulally-take-the-wheel https://www.yahoo.com/news/apos-time-tesla-replace-elon-160000937.html https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/a22812531/tesla-replace-elon-musk-bob-lutz-column/ https://carworldwide247.com/bob-lutz-tesla-should-replace-elon-musk-make-him-non-executive-chairman/car-news/video/ https://www.quora.com/Who-would-be-a-good-candidate-to-replace-Elon-Musk-as-CEO-of-Tesla https://insideevs.com/bob-lutz-tesla-musk-step-down/ https://driving.ca/tesla/auto-news/news/motor-mouth-should-elon-musk-stay-or-go https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/04/27/tesla-stockholders-to-consider-removing-musk-as-chairman It would seem that with Musk self medicating himself and his recent antics with Social Media, investigation from the SEC and more craziness that fans of Tesla world wide are now bringing this up as a real possibility. At the next stock holders meeting, a proposal from shareholders to be voted on is to force a CEO replacement with professional management that can take Tesla to the next level. So the question asked here is: "Should Elon Musk be replaced as CEO, possibly by Alan Mulally?" Place your Vote and Sound off on what you think!
  21. Have to say this looks really good in person. Some one just bought from the Ford dealer this used Redline Edition Chevrolet Traverse AWD. Found it in the Costco Business Parking lot.
  22. Seems only 29% of the public agree with the proposed EPA freezing, the bulk of society thinks fuel economy standards should keep getting harder. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1118400_fewer-than-1-in-3-new-car-shoppers-agree-with-proposed-epa-rollback-according-to-poll
  23. I get that for the vintage cars, but the Jag press release makes one think they also might produce more as new cars. Maybe a Kit car and that is what I was wondering about. I am happy that they have come up with a great Electric power train to take classics into the future.
  24. This Rocks, not only keeping a classic beauty like this going forward into the future but also making new ones for people to enjoy. My only question is that for the new ones, will they get airbags and all the normal safety stuff or will this be more of a kit car registered auto? ?
  25. Wow can it be anymore ugly like the Toyota Prius cars with those big fat whatever you call them BLACK PLASTIC spots in the lower left and right corners of the front end. I really question what the designer saw in it.
