  1. Very true just as we had a period of time about 30yrs as some still rode horses into town and do even today in some west coast places. I expect ICE, Hybrid and EV to co-exist for a long while as the transfer to EV does it's thing. It will be interesting to watch countries where ICE is banded now or going to be by 2035. We can learn to not make the same mistakes as our own country changes.
  2. We have slide warnings in effect due to excessive rain / snow. http://www.king5.com/article/news/local/landslide-threat-warning-in-place-through-tuesday/281-540334981 https://media.king5.com/embeds/video/8098314/iframe"
  3. Easy, BOLT, LEAF, Tesla S, X, 3, etc. Considering that there is no gas version!
  4. Totally understandable that they would start with the XC40. Looking forward to seeing what all else they bring out. Hopefully all 5 EV's will make it in roll out in 2019. ? I wonder how sales will do with knowing a year from now you will have EV options. This could make 2018 a very ugly year for sales.
  5. Train them to lift the seat, do their business and flush and I am all set to have dogs again. Grew up with 3 black labs and 1 chocolate lab and a mutt that was my sisters dog. Love the dogs over cats, but have decided I like my road trips and travel over dealing with dogs, cleanup and boarding. Cute babies, especially the one giving you a razzberry! ?
  6. Totally understandable, as UK moves to go really green on power and environment, diesel is going to die. Hybrid / EV is the future.
  7. My gut tells me this will cannibalize sales of existing AMG models. They are splitting hairs of a limited group of enthusiast. AMG is a premium brand that sells to a set group of people and if they do this, I suspect you will see some models drop in sales and sold into this auto, but no real growth.
  8. @oldshurst442 Yup, EV West has been doing conversions with Tesla Power trains. http://www.evwest.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=476&osCsid=9e6h3nv5si1l4do6uo7vio1om7
  9. True, I agree as you say not the full reason of why I believe we are starting a Bear Market, but it is one of many noticeable check boxes. Dell Technology pretty much has made all travel restricted as skype meetings / webex sessions are to be used with customers unless they are certain prime top 10% accounts then you can travel, but even they are have restrictions. I have also seen we are now on 5yr internal refresh of hardware versus 3yrs only a year ago. Many of our customers have informed us that they are moving to 5yr refresh cycles. Then you have the loosening of financial markets, the reduction in cash reserves that banks and investment firms have to hold onto. etc. etc. etc. Like you there are many signs that we are going into a slowing market or bear market world wide and that will have effects. Even in China, things are slowing, course Trade wars do not help either. Interesting times we are in.
  10. Tesla has started to sell their power trains to EV conversion companies so there are many places you can now buy the AWD Tesla system with controller modules and convert any auto you want with a Tesla Power Train and Tesla Battery pack.
  11. OK, found it on their site and they truly say their tech is free. https://www.tesla.com/blog/all-our-patent-are-belong-you So anyone just like that Chinese company can use their tech to build EVs and sell them and no ability for Tesla to sue them. This is based on the hope that more companies building EV auto's would push Tesla auto's allowing them to make coin!
  12. Totally agree, I have seen that many companies both in the High Tech sector and outside but use high tech products are slowing purchasing and drawing out change and investment. This has me seeing a slow down also. I truly believe we are looking at the start of a Bear Market globally.
  13. 2019 Camaro is ASS and like Honda had to do a 6 month refresh, I suspect Chevy will have to do the same! Terrible
  14. I thought that while it is in public domain, there is also still a small royalty that has to be paid or am I missing something else?
  15. Totally makes sense, late to the party but makes sense as I am sure they can make more profit there than in the US if they do it right!
  16. To me and my road trips, it is the ultimate road trip auto. I have no problem paying that price as it has been totally worth it. Course I also still have my 1994 GMC Suburban SLE with over 300K miles on it so I would have to assume I am next to zero on the cost per mile. ?
  17. Chevrolet Bolt Gen 2 in 2025? At the 1 min 25 sec mark, the Bolt discussion begins and they talk about the production of the autonomous BOLT. Plenty of other EV info on BMW, MB and Kia plus so much more. I have to question the 2025 release of Bolt 2.0 as that would put the current bolt into an 8yr run which in today's society, would be 4yrs past due and very old. I more or less expect a refresh next year with a new version in 2020 as a 2021 model or 2021 as a 2022 model.
  18. 2006 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum edition Bought new, Currently 130,000 equals .32 cents per mile
  19. In this story I now wonder if GM got their Avalanche Idea from FORD. https://jalopnik.com/behold-the-beautiful-madness-of-what-brazil-did-to-ford-1794932201 Seems Ford of Brazil made a 4 door truck with bed before GM ever did.
  20. Very Cool Ford Story on the Mexico B100. A 3 door SUV built out of the F100 to F150 from 1973 to 1994. https://jalopnik.com/the-mexican-market-ford-b-100-is-the-three-door-ford-f-1825191099 Would have posted the cool looking 3 door pic but right now not able to attach jpg or png images.
