February Car Spotting
At Fred Meyers gasing up and a grey Ford Taurus X station wagon pulls up to gas. Ugly autos and fit n finish is terrible from what I can see. I see no reason to buy them.

DRIVEN: 2019 Chevrolet Blazer LT AWD 3.6
@Drew Dowdell @caddycruiser @regfootball @Robert Hall So I decided to compare the XT5 AWD to the Blazer RS AWD and in getting as close as possible in matching vehicles. The XT5 comes out cheaper in both total cost and leasing. This just DOES NOT make sense for GM.

Random Thoughts Thread
Why bother when they can just apply the Prius technology to their existing Toyota lineup and give the customers who want Hybrids, hybrids or EVs on the same named and looking platform as those that want their ICE auto. I think a Prius sub-brand would be killed just like Toyota's last sub-brand.

Audi Brings 4 Plug-In Hybrids to Geneva: Comments
Very cool news. Wish the battery pack was bigger, but this is a great first step towards better emission auto's.

Honda News: Honda Civic Hatch and Type-R Production Heading to the North America
This is good news as long as car sales last for Honda, though I think they will continue to reduce down as CUV/SUV sales take over and with the move to EVs, I can see Cars becoming a very minor sale item as people want the all activity vehicle that EV will allow I think.

Cars you are ashamed to admit you like
Saw a TRD Pro 4Runner today and it was sharp, monochromatic. Was eye catching. I could see why people like that package.

Cars you are ashamed to admit you like
I honestly at one time thought I could see myself with a G-Wagon from MB. Yet with the moving goal post that @smk4565 has done with everything MB and especially today with an ASSHOLE MB CUV owner who moved set cones at the pass to park right in front and minimize walking which also made it impossible for me to leave I had to wait to get the Ski Resort to tow the assholes POS out of the way. I can honestly say I do not see myself ever owning an MB or BMW auto. I can say that I might if Porsche ever builds something big enough to fit me comfy go with them or Audi. My other only two non-American auto's I would own is a true Skyline (R33/R34) or possibly a Land Cruiser from Toyota.

Mercedez Benz News 2020 Is The Last Model Year for the S65 with a V12
Do I really need to point our the obvious? Like MB, Cadillac is using what they have. There is nothing to say the TTV6 might not end up in the next refresh of Escalade. YOU were talking about the FUTURE, I pointed out the OBVIOUS that with down sizing, taxes on engine size and the move to hybrid / ev that there seems to be little reason to justify a V8 in those cars. ?

Opera
My Lenovo W530 is still running strong, course 1TB SSD drive x2 and 32GB of ram so I figure this laptop will still go another 3-5 years for me. Probably will be forced by the company to move to a newer Dell Laptop in the future, but for now after 5yrs, this thing rocks.

Mercedez Benz News 2020 Is The Last Model Year for the S65 with a V12
Disagree with you on the V8 is better than V6, the global world is changing as to what is luxury and what it means and when you have double production but all sold out of the Porsche EV sedan, the added maintenance and cost of a TTV8 with mild Hybrid system will mean nothing. As it is, without you constantly talking about the high end of MB, I would not know about the expanded bloat of the S-Class Maybach edition that I thought like most people was a failure and dead only to be brought back as a package on the S-Class. People wonder why Maybach cars are so cheap now. Guess cheaper yet. Most people who are badge snobs know of the S-Class and mostly the mid level line, the AMG S-Class cars, V12 have not made Mercedes the luxury snob they are. If you believe it, I have waterfront property in New Mexico to sell you.

Mercedez Benz News 2020 Is The Last Model Year for the S65 with a V12
Yet with the proven Torque and power of Hybrid or pure EV power trains, I see no reason for a TTV8, might as well just make it a 4 or 6 banger with proper electric motors or pure electric for the 2020/2021 new model year.

Rivian Files Patent For Auxiliary Battery
If GM got the rights to use it, I could see them take the Skateboard platform and spread it across the whole family. Then maybe if the contract was done for reverse use, Rivian could pick up the HD version that GM applied to it and use it. Course I love to Dream of where we will go with EVs.

GM News: GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Given Temporary Reprieve
I totally agree, but with the marketing invested in CT, maybe keep ICE on alpha numeric and with the new EV product line go all names again. That I think would be the best for Cadillac moving forward.

Lincoln News: Lincoln Corsair to get Plug-In Option
As long as they keep them looking truly different, if Ford falls back on old lazyness of badge engineering it could end up being very ugly to the Lincoln Line. I would rather hope they focus on being Unique and luxury, leave off road to Ford.

Mercedez Benz News 2020 Is The Last Model Year for the S65 with a V12
With Hybrid Power Trains and powerful Turbo small engines, this is understandable and really I see no need for the V12 and in many cases V8 engines. Sad as I like the Torque of a V8 over a Turbo 4 or 6 engine. More excited when they show off the power of the Pure Electric motor for these cars. With 700 to 800 HP electric motors that have been shown, I would expect the S-Class to have the power of the Tesla Roadster 2.0 in that ubber luxury sedan first.

Opera
We are moving finally to our single global domain dell.com as the Legacy side of EMC and Dell go away over this whole year. One of the first deaths that everyone was happy was the removal of IE. Lucky for me we are allowed Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Opera as our browsers of choice. The few people on Apple laptops have all been informed they have to exchange them with Dell XPS notebooks by the end of the year. Not many of them are happy about it, but understandable that Dell does not want to support Mac. lol I am very happy with Opera and liking it on both work and home systems.

Random Thoughts Thread
That is interesting as I never see any of the Seniors in the TSA Pre at SeaTac airport here and it is one of the top 5 or 3 busiest airports in the nation now. I honestly love the less than 5 min to go from dropping my bag off with Alaska and then on the other side going to get food, water, snacks for the flight. Considering the Global one for international flying as I hear from coworkers how fast that is too especially when coming back into the US. Yet I only seem to travel every couple of years internationally.

Rivian Files Patent For Auxiliary Battery
Agreed, not a 5th wheel right away, but I could see a HD version of their skateboard concept doing that and this aux battery pack adding the much needed juice.

GM News: GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Given Temporary Reprieve
So maybe the CT6 and CT8 on VSS with CT5 & 4 on Alpha till the 6 & 8 are up to speed and then refresh 4 & 5 to VSS?

GM News: GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Given Temporary Reprieve
Good News, hopefully they will find use on the BEV3 platform to keep the plant going even longer.

Rivian Files Patent For Auxiliary Battery
That is cool, just like a aux fuel tank for fueling tractors or a tool chest, having it sit in the bed with the power to tow, that would be a smart add on for 5th wheel / trailer towing. Wonder what the added range is?
