  1. VW Is rolling coal polluting garbage. I have not seen a single VW that does not heavily pollute out the tailpipe. Time for Diesel cars to die, Hybrid is far superior without all the pollution that heavily contributes to ACID RAIN and many other health detriments. Germany has some of the most dead forest around due to their heavy acid rain that is killing everything. Even Germany has admitted that Diesel is hurting their country, people, etc.
  2. @Zane Wylder Clearly you have not driven modern hybrid or electric auto. I would have agreed with you on the bastardized hybridized auto when looking at the very first hybrids from the 90's and even early 2000's. Yet Hybrid auto's are much faster with instant torque and can do much of what a diesel car did. There is no longer any reason for the polluting coal roaling cars. Not sure if your just unaware or just uneducated in regards to diesel, the acid rain it causes, the more than 40 toxic contaminants exhaust spews into the air and that most power is NOT created by Coal in the US. The bulk of power comes from much cleaner Natural Gas. diesel-health-effects.pdf Diesel has a place, but in trucks, not cars now and as technology pushes forward it will be replaced in trucks as well. After 110 years, time for Diesel to fade away as well as petro.
  3. Thanks for posting, good to see the turbo is a dual-vane for reduced turbo lag. Yet my gut tells me while it will get a high EPA approved MPG, real world driving will show a lower number. We are in interesting times.
  4. Yes asia has had a variety of high revving 4 bangers and most not here in the US. Just a few were as @ccap41 stated 7K redline Honda Turbo R or @Cubical-aka-Moltar also stated. It will be interesting to see what the details are on this engine as I will make the assumption that like others here that this will not have to rev much to make the torque and not even rev much for the HP. Yet this still begs the question will it or could it be a high Revving 4 banger with a turbo that could go into a Typhoon or Syclone GMC product or a new AWD SS Trailblazer? Could like the racing days of the Quad 4 with dual turbo's be between 500 to 1000 HP / lb-ft of performance magic??
  5. Sergio the IDIOT finally sees that Fiat is not wanted by most of Humanity. Garbage products. Sadly they are going to build a jeep in that country of Socialism laziness.
  6. Yamaha, Suzuki, Nissan, Honda all have high revving 4 bangers. I think this is due to the F1 high revving 4 bangers that these companies have all had a hand in building at one time or another. I am curious to know what the red line is for this engine. I know that back in the day, taking the GM QUAD 4 motor many race shops got it turbo'd and was able to have it rev at over 10K producing over 1000HP. So that is why I am wondering what this motor will do. Yup, like Cubicle and I seems that motor will be in two trims only for the first year. Guess work out any issues there before going across the whole family. Think of this motor in one of the Compact CUV from Chevy, GMC, Buick or Cadillac.
  7. Wonder if it will be a High Revving 4 Banger or not? ? Liked this chart from the official GM announcement. http://www.gm.com/mol/m-2018-may-0518-2019-silverado.html
  8. No Assembly line is perfect, but what is there is a good starting point. Musk Arrogance has him go from an overkill of manual hand building to an attempt at full automation and no humans and Billions wasted. Even now he admits they went from using too many people to to many robots and not starting at a proper Alpha and Beta test of the assembly line. This is His Error due to Ignorance and Arrogance. He believed even when people who worked for him said it would not work that he could take a software building approach and apply it to auto building. You cannot just make software updates on the fly in building a physical device. If he had listened to those around him about the assembly line, Tesla 3 would probably already be at 5000 builds a week. Right now they still have a hand built multiple module body that is taking way more time than it should to be built before it gets to the assembly line. Dies, testing and mass production are very solid and good. This is where Musk should have started by using what the existing auto industry had already proven and built. Then take it to the next level of automation and superior building. If you understood the history of Deming and Drucker and how they brought together one of the best JIT or known as Just in Time manufacturing systems at high quality assembly, you would understand why this is a FAILURE of Musks and why just not me but many others also point this out that he has cost billions more than needed if he had taking his technology of the EV auto and started assembling them on what is a proven production line process. Then take it to the next level. Yes I believe one day we will have a fully automated assembly process that could allow you to plug in the details and have a car out hours later at the other end of the assembly line. But right now we are not there.
  9. I understand not following in the footsteps of existing auto companies. Yet that should not stop a person from also looking at what they did right and using it. Deming and Drucker who were ignored by American auto companies and then went on to teach the Japanese how to build superior auto's and then the Germans have shown that some things once perfected should not be ignored. Musk is a smart man in many things, but is stupid for ignoring the perfected auto assembly line system. That is the point I am making as I would hope he continues to push the bleeding edge of all things EV auto and Space but also save money and time by using what has already been proven to work and then look to see how it can be done better. Right now the Tesla 3 assembly line is a joke and the quality sucks. Facts not fiction based on clear tear downs of the car and the constant delays. I hope they survive and yes they have made everyone else look at the EV auto. This does not mean he could not have also done way better if he used proven manufacturing processes. Current process of creating software is what he applied to building auto's and it does not work as software and hardware are two different beasts.
  10. Wonder if you can get a turbo 4 with the Carbon Fiber bed. That would reduce weight big time and I can see it making it really lite for a performance version. Maybe an AWD SS could come back.
  11. Yes I would agree that his arrogance has allowed him to push boundaries, but then history is there to learn from and he clearly is not willing to learn from history as the company could have done so much more by looking at history to use what does work right and well in Manufacturing and still push the boundaries. Right now arrogance is what also can cause the downfall and has of many powerful men and woman. Like life, moderation is still needed in all things.
  12. Musk Arrogance can also lead to the collapse of a company. I totally agree, why re-invent the wheel especially when one thinks software development can be used for manufacturing of an auto. Arrogant big time he is.
  13. UK Sales started on Nissan Energy Solar System Nissan has announced the start of their all encompassing Solar Energy System. This system has the ability to reduce home electric bills by 66%, increased independence from the national grid and electricity providers and the ability to generate, store and manage energy use overnight. Nissan says even on overcast or rainy days the system will still do all this and provide charging to your Nissan EVs. Nissan says the basic home system starts at £3,881 and includes the supply and installation of six solar panel system, home energy management system and VAT at 5%. For those that do not speak UK Pound Sterling, this is equal to $5,242.45 at todays 5/17/2018 conversion rate for Dollars. To get a complete solar panel system plus the XStorage unit that would be installed in your garage, your price starts at £7,635 or $10,313.46 at todays 5/17/2018 conversion rate for Dollars. Nissan is also selling additional storage units for £6,446 or $8,707.34 allowing one to go totally grid free if they so choose to add more panels and storage systems to fully support the house. The Nissan Solar System allows one to use the Nissan wireless charging mat under their Nissan EV and if you need a bit of extra energy, you can always pull it from your auto battery and then return it later on. This maximizes the efficiency of electrical grid and solar solution. Nissan UK Solar System web site Nissan has stayed silent on if or when they plan to bring this to the US. Right now they are focused on the UK, a much smaller market. Yet once they feel this is perfected, it will be a solid competitor to the Tesla SolarCity panels and Powerwall 2 which has seen a large drop in installations since Tesla bought them out. With a 57% drop in installations and what shareholders see as a clear conflict of interest due to the bonds that the Tesla CEO and his family members held, it would see they had more to gain than the shareholders. A Delaware judge is letting the lawsuit move forward creating more headache for CEO Musk. Solarcity & Powerwall 2 web site Clearly Nissan has taken ideas on their ideas of a smart street with fluid green energy being used between the auto and the home. For more pictures and info on this check out the story posted March 16 2016 here: Nissan Press Release Tesla Solarcity & Powerwall lawsuit
  14. Right now I see no reason for PSA to sell here, their quality of auto is piss poor like Fiat and Alfa. Why would anyone want to go to a lower quality auto?
  15. I loved these car with the straight 6 motor.
  16. This makes sense, I bet if you look at the sales rate you can pretty much see who has the strength in numbers to justify paying for an auto show and who does not. Luxury auto lines from Germany are probably not that strong in Detroit compared to other brands. Same in France, VW is clearly not as popular as Audi.
  17. Agreed, Damn 2 plate state crap this looks good. Just wish all states would better define a set amount of standards. I really like RFID License tab on the back plate. Police scan and know the info they need without a front plate.
  18. Personally, all states should go with RFID tag License tabs and only a single license plate on the rear. I see no reason for a front plate at all even for Police or any other gov service use.
  19. Never know when you might race and if you lose control always good to get a quick pull out and back into the action. Kinda like why do women and men have nose rings? Rings in the center of the nose has always been used by farmers to control unruly bulls. So are they saying they are unruly and need to be controlled? ?
  20. I actually like the Tow Hook being Red like the Calipers and standing out.
