  1. My Week has been this every minute awake or asleep!
  2. Interesting so the Kia Soul EV is still only an appliance (oops) compliance auto for markets where they have to sell an EV in order to sell their ICE auto's. Hmmmmm ? not really sure if that is a smart move today with so many other companies coming out with EVs.
  3. I tend to agree with what he says, we have first gen solid state batteries, but to make them in the density and quantity needed is a bit out. I expect most if not all EVs that come out between now and 2024 will be Lithium Ion and then by 2024 we will see some of the top line models have the solid state and by 2030, we will see solid state push into pretty much all autolines for EV use. The benefits of Solid state batteries will I think help OEMs to push to move to them sooner rather than later.
  4. GM's approach is an interesting one and one that is making me rethink if I leave them for some other brand. Be very interesting to see what happens with their large EV roll out.
  5. Sad that Japan and Europe get the updated PHEV and we have the old one. ? You would think if they are going to update the auto, then do it globally and send the new one here too, not release as new the old one that is behind the one across the pond. ?
  6. R.I.P. to those who have lost their lives. The lack of Federal response to the fires is inexcusable. Amazing pictures of the wildfires that started on Federal land and are burning down California. One picture I thought was sad but cool is some person's McMansion is burning down, but the fire fighters knew what to save! Ford GT350 at a home in Malibu. Car Dealership in Paradise from the Camp Fire was a total loss as the town was burnt off the map. Some old cars lost forever
  7. I will say that the 1hr 11 second preprep of the battery pack for Ludicrous mode is an interesting point that no one else has ever brought up and I found buried on Tesla web site. Interesting, it would be cool to see the runs again if they did not do the battery optimization prep.
  8. Your just showing how Jealous you are of people with fun toys. All 4 SUVs are cool, but Tesla built the fastest one!
  9. Yet the Tesla X spanked those overpriced SUVs.
  10. Wonder if we could get an Eliminator version? ? I loved the original Jeep Pickup Eliminator. Gladiator Eliminator edition with a TTV6
  11. Bet FWD/AWD Plugin hybrid is what I think it will be.
  12. Believe it when it is actually on the dealership lot!
  13. DAMN, Just realized this past weekend was the Seattle International auto show. I drove by as they were winding down the final day and they had 6 Ford Rangers there for test driving, 3 jag iPace and 3 Mercedes-benz MQC. I am so pissed that I missed this year. Where the hell was the advertising.. bummer
  14. True, not from the OEM, that part is cool. Road rally is a big deal around here, amazing how big with Porsche and Miata owners.
  15. Cool that they did it, but Meh as far as interest goes from me. I see plenty of cars like this around washington from various vendors.
  16. Red Robin for lunch and this beauty was parked right there for me to check out. Needs a bit of TLC but very solid and cool.
  17. Not as impressed as I thought I would be for a car with this power.
  18. This is a very cool video drag race of the super powered SUVs and it is way too funny! WOW, G-Wagen G63 wallows like a Hippo!
  19. Nissan Press Release Nissan Frontier Sentinel Concept Photos Powered by a 2.3 liter twin turbo diesel - 190 hp Heavy Duty GT Radial 285/75 R16 Twin Nissan Leaf Battery packs - Enough Power to power an average size American home for 24hrs. Equipped for deep jungle support - Gloves, lanterns, helmets, ropes, axes, hooks, toolbox, and more. Drone take-off and landing from the top compartment cover. Multiple electrical outlets on the both sides and back of the truck allowing support for a wide range of appliances in various power types. Designed for heavy high water levels with snorkel and above windshield alert system. SÃO PAULO – Nissan today unveiled Frontier Sentinel, a concept pickup truck designed by Nissan Brazil's styling studio, at the 2018 São Paulo Motor Show. The concept is designed for rescue missions in all types of Brazilian terrain. Frontier Sentinel integrates a host of innovative features, including two battery packs from the Nissan LEAF to deliver auxiliary power. The cargo bed has been adjusted to accommodate the battery packs and also features a set of drawers to store gloves, flashlights, helmets, ropes, axes, toolboxes and other equipment. The top part of the cargo bed has a deployable platform from which a drone can take off and land. A strengthened roll bar stretches across the sides of the cargo bed, which features more space to store rescue equipment and two power outlets. The Brazilian hyacinth macaw, a parrot native to central and eastern South America, served as inspiration for the color: Thunder-Blue. Frontier Sentinel also stands out for its snorkel, which lets it navigate deep-water crossings, and a special lighting system on top of the windshield. Inside, the truck has an Electric-Yellow dashboard and central console. Inspired by electric circuits, it's the same shade of yellow as on the seat trim and stitches. Read more about the Nissan Frontier Sentinel on the Brazil newsroom here (in Portuguese.)
  20. Agreed, it is an awesome bike that I can so see being popular not just on rural day trips but in the inner city. Talk about easy to get around with no smell.
  21. @Robert Hall @trinacriabob @A Horse With No Name OK peeps, where is the story, wait I found it! More pics at the story link. https://fighterjetsworld.com/2018/11/07/boeing-747-400f-suffered-a-runway-excursion-after-landing/ GOOD NEWS: No lobsters were lost, all will make it to China for Dinner. QUOTE: Airport spokesperson Theresa Rath Spicer said the Sky Lease Cargo plane coming from Chicago was making a scheduled landing to pick up live lobster and then fly to China, with a stop in Alaska along the way. Rath Spicer said the lobster was instead picked up by Gateway Aviation to be transported to its destination. This cargo jet was to be loaded with live lobster and head for China, but it went off the runway upon landing. (Steve Lawrence/CBC)
  22. GM who I believe invented and clearly one of the first to use day time running lights has made it standard that you have an off, but the switch moves back to marker. So if you wanted, you can switch the headlights to off but not the marker lights and then turn it one more place to auto. I agree with @balthazar I see no reason for anyone to take them out of auto mode. I suspect as I have learned this weekend that many english as a second language drivers here do not understand that the lights auto turn off after a set time. Driving is a privilege earned and so many around me think it is a right and folks that cannot speak English get a license and a car and never read the owners manual as they do not understand how to read and as such they get in a habit of turning everything off even auto lights. Helped my wife with some Koreans who were shocked to learn you do leave the light switch in the auto mode on. She translated and they were happy to finally understand. After this, I now feel strongly that all those dark auto's truly are people that are ignorant of how the lights work.
  23. Facebook = hell, they have some of the worst virus prone posts ever. I have never had and never will have a facebook account. I would try using one of the free antivirus scanners on your system if you do not have antivirus software. Microsoft posted this: Hi Tammy McIntosh, a) What is the message you get when you log in? b) Is it just the facebook that you are not able to log into? You might want to use Add-on Manager to disable some add-ons and then turn on add-ons only as you need them. This will let you determine which add-on is causing the problem. 1. Click Start Start button , and then click Internet Explorer . 2. Click Tools , and then click Internet Options . 3. Click the Programs tab, and then click Manage add-ons . 4. Click an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable . 5. Try to view the Web page again to see whether it works correctly. 6. If the Web page works correctly, you know that the add-on caused the problem. If you still cannot view the Web page, the add-on did not cause the problem, and you can enable it again. Also you may Optimize Internet Explorer and check if the issue persists. Follow the steps in the given link to optimize IE. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936213 Azeez Nadeem - Microsoft Support I did find this on Facebook support post: If you find yourself unable to stay logged in to Facebook, the problem may lie with your Internet browser or with Facebook itself. To be sure, troubleshoot your computer and see if it fixes the problem. If the problem is on the Facebook side, though, you may simply need to wait until problems with the site itself are repaired before you can stayed signed in at length. Internet Settings You might experience problems when using Facebook in Internet Explorer if the browser is configured incorrectly, repeatedly signing you out of the site. To change the settings, click "Tools," then click "Internet Options." Click "Security," then click "Custom Level" and look for User Authentication. Select "Automatic Login With Username and Password" and then save your settings and sign in to Facebook again. Troubleshooting Browsers Clearing your saved settings and cookies on your browser may fix the problem with Facebook logging out. Open your browser settings and clear your private data. In Chrome, you can do this from the Settings menu; in Firefox, you can do it from the Options menu. In Internet Explorer, swipe in from the right side of the screen and select "Settings." Click "Options | History | Select | Cookies | Done" to clear the cookies. Sign back into Facebook to see whether the problem is resolved. Remote Logout If someone else has your Facebook password, that person can kick you out of Facebook from a remote computer. If you suspect that another person is logging you out of your account, sign in to Facebook again and end all other active sessions. Click "Settings," then "Account Settings." Click "Security," then "Active Sessions." Close any sessions other than your primary and then reset your password. Site Errors It's possible that you're being logged out of Facebook because the site is experiencing problems. Sign out of your account and wait for awhile before logging back in. If you're still having problems, contact Facebook to alert them to the error with the Consistent Logout Problems form (https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/268228883256323). Choose how often the problem occurs from the drop-down menu and then describe what else is happening when the disconnection occurs in the text box. Submit the form to Facebook when you're done.
  24. My first auto rental was a Lincoln Town car when I lived for a year of hell in Texas. My parents came to visit and I needed an easier auto to get into than my lifted wrangler.
