  1. ??? Nope Wrong, Never will want an S-class or anything MB makes. They have nothing to compete with the Escalade and before you say it, the G-Wagon even the new finally updated one is still no match to an Escalade! I would take a Hummer H2 over the G-Wagon!
  2. @Drew Dowdell You nailed it, that quiet lazy boy comfort in a luxury cruiser was it 40 yrs ago and now everyone implies they want the ultimate driving machine. I for one love the ultimate driving machine but also love the quiet comfort and I believe you can have both. No reason to not have a auto that can handle when thrown about but also blocks out the exterior world. The Buick Envision does this very well. In fact the more I think about it, the Cadillac XT5 was noisier than my sisters Envision. I want my next auto to handle like my SS but be vault like quiet from the outside world. I wish Cadillac would use the Buick quiet tech on their lineup of auto's plus extra sound deadening material.
  3. That just means you have to lift your ass up rather than sliding in. So True, I remember all the cadillac and Delta 98 interiors my family and relatives had and they were awesome. Suburbans had nice cloth interiors too for the GMC side of the house but nothing like that above.
  4. This totally makes sense as Diesel is a dead duck for most of the first world countries now in regards to perception by folks after the German mess of emission cheating. JLR is right to make this change ASAP.
  5. Cloth is instant warm on a cold morning day and warm on a blistering hot Phoenix Arizona day. I myself love leather but also can understand the comfort of cloth. My 1994 GMC Suburban has cloth seats and it is nice to sit on when you are either freezing or frying outside. But I do dig my Escalade Leather chilled seats.
  6. Not me, Like to play sports, but find watching them boring. If you are a Soccer fan or Football fan for our European members, I wish you all the best for your team to win.
  7. I think as complexity increases on Hybrid and traditional ICE powertrain trucks, we will see more and more overlap as the updates, conversion of existing assembly plant to the new model will slow things down and increase building time on top of the change by suppliers to these newer electrified parts.
  8. So totally agree with this statement, UP VOTE it +1000! Leatherette should not ever be in Cadillacs and only in low end Buicks and all things Chevy.
  9. If so, then you found the only redeeming point of Socialism. Consistent math for all.
  10. ? When will America just drop the stupid Standard measurement and join the rest of the world on superior Metric.
  11. It does seem weird to see the Luxury is the bottom level, then premium luxury and the top level is Sport and yet with sport you have Leather seats like Premium luxury and you get Leatherette trim which makes no sense to me. I would think Sport would be bottom, then luxury and top would be Premium luxury. I like the CUV, but am a bit confused by the packaging of the trim levels.
  12. Maybe it is not in American Standard but in German metric. could be looking at a difference then.
  13. This is one very sweet F100 pickup. Love it! http://www.thedrive.com/video/21753/classic-car-studios-1953-ford-f100-restomod-driven-the-fancy-muscle-truck-grandpa-never-had Check out this sexy Green pickup truck brought back to a awesome modern spin.
  14. Bosch newest Powertrain member - eAxle https://www.bosch-mobility-solutions.com/en/products-and-services/passenger-cars-and-light-commercial-vehicles/powertrain-systems/electric-drive/eaxle/ Bosch has introduced their newest powertrain system available in performance from 50 to 300 kW power output or for the Americans, that is equal to 40 to 402 HP. Bosch full details of their electric drive components can be found here: https://www.bosch-mobility-solutions.com/en/products-and-services/passenger-cars-and-light-commercial-vehicles/powertrain-systems/electric-drive/ Bosch makes the following components available today: eAxle - The main powertrain for any auto. iBooster - Vacuum-independent, electromechanical brake booster for improved performance on EV auto's. ESP hev - Regenerative braking system for hybrid and electric vehicles. Pedal-travel sensor - sensor series for electronic brake pedals Bosch also makes a wide variety of power electronics and separate motor-generators for other applications. The EV powertrain of the future is coming fast and options are going to be great.
  15. Elaphe - Newest In-Wheel EV motors with Torque Vectoring Elaphe Website This Slovenian company has clearly stepped up to compete against Protean, the only other in-wheel EV motor company to date. Both have manufacturing in China and are aggressively going after OEM, but where they go divergent paths is that Elaphe is also feeling that their product can and should be used in older auto's where people want to replace the ICE powertrain with something new and better. Elaphe makes 7 different motors for a wide variety of applications, from cars to trucks / suvs, commercial trucks and marine applications. These motors go from 29 kW or 39 HP with 400 Nm or 295 ft-lbs of torque to 110 kW or 147 HP with 1500 Nm or 1,106 ft-lbs of Torque per motor. Using their designated SUV motor would give you in AWD mode 588 HP with 4,424 lb-ft of torque. Diesel torque with supercar performance in an amazing package. They even offer a in-wheel solution for motorcycles that is 20kW or 27 HP with 225 Nm or 166 ft-lbs of torque, giving a motorcycle 54 HP with 332 lb-ft of torque. Here is the founders own words on why they are building a superior motor system.
  16. Bummer for the delay, but no big deal, it will still come out and this fall we should see a nice bump in EV auto options. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Wish Cadillac would get their act together. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  17. I just hope the XT4 is quiet when riding inside. I feel that cadillac has given up the quietness of the luxury area. Buick Envision is quieter than the XT5 I recently just had.
  18. Very cool tech including the 2 second reconfigurable wheel to track and back.
  19. It was your evil Twin that posted it then. I agree that the pricing is very enticing for the XT4 lease.
  20. Seems Toyota has come out with a new Century Luxury Sedan for Chauffeur based driving. The first came out in 1967 to be the ultimate conveyance for the Emperor of Japan, the Imperial house and politicians. The newest version is now 210 inches overall with a 121.6 wheel base. Packed with modern tech and now will use the Lexus LS 600H 5L V8 replacing the very old V12. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/06/23/toyota-century-hybrid-v8-luxury-sedan/#slide-7361448
  21. So True, if @ocnblu was Amish.
