As stated Detroit, Tesla never has been part of Detroit and Tesla DOES NOT build a full size Pickup Truck. Love the interior, this should be a wake up call to the Detroit Legacy OEMs. A center-mounted digital touch screen will serve as the hub for vehicle settings, heating and cooling, and infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.   10. Very cool, I love this I get that a number of folks here have stated they still want physical manual switches or knobs, yet the whole touchscreen interface I see as being the long game of the future for easier changes/updates and especially customization.
  11. That has been the other thinking is could we see GMC / Buick go away in the US leaving a Chevrolet / Cadillac brand for the US market and a Buick / Cadillac setup for China or would it be a Chevrolet / Buick lineup for China.

I do wonder if the next major change of GM will be to retire a couple name plates, which ones is up for debate, but since China seems to love Buick over Cadillac, Could we see a future GM that is Chevrolet / Buick only? Makes me wonder what the Escalade would look like with a Waterfall nose on the SUV. ?

LOL, I wondered the same then when he mentioned the regrade of Seattle, it dawned on me that when Seattle had their great fire, the city decided to fill in the wet lands and spread out and with that they removed many hills / small mountains and leveled the city. The building in that pic and many others like it were destroyed for the complete leveling of the city which is now the Pioneer Square area and SODO area of Seattle, the south end of the city.

I will have to agree to disagree, we have history but nothing other than a few stories of coast to coast trips and there people like EV drivers of today probably planned to be in places where there were no fuels and farms DID NOT have storage systems of various fuels like today as you point out there were not really any transportation systems. So yes I do believe there were drivers who wanted the new ICE technology to replace their horses but also had range anxiety till better roads were built and gas stations were built. Today we have a far superior infrastructure of ability to even slow charge EVs and I believe the switch to EVs will happen much faster than it was to ICE.
  16. I am not aware of any ICE auto that can refill in 3 minutes with 300 miles of range. XFC does bring 400 miles of range in 15 min and that should go down over the next few years as solid state batteries with capacitor storage is added to EVs. The charging infrastructure is extensive and growing daily. It is just a matter of time, much as it was with ICE auto's in the early 1900's when you had to think about where a gas station was to make sure you had enough fuel for trips, now at least even if there is no XFC or level 4 charger, there are usually Level 3 DC or level 2 charges to be found and always Level 1 or 110 V chargers so an EV can get power always in the 21st century.

  18. You also are forgetting the human element besides what @A Horse With No Name has stated that is very accurate. Humans make irrational decisions and in some regards some things seem stupid to one but to them makes sense and makes them feel good. Most Prius owners want to minimize their carbon footprint. The Prius, VOLT, heck any hybrid or EV allows their owner to feel good about the carbon footprint they leave regardless of if they understand how the carbon footprint shifts.
  19. True it has been, but it can be more as the electric motor in the Bolt is programmable and has the ability to put out more HP and Torque. A different controller programming could really change the way it drives. If you ever do try a test drive of the bolt, click on the Sport button, and then hit the accelerator. Big difference, they could just make an RS Bolt in Sport mode all the time. Yes lower battery range but wow, so much fun factor.

  22. @A Horse With No Name @ccap41 Saturday Seahawks at Cowboys, while not watching or pretty much supporting professional sports, I see this game going 1 of two ways. Blow out of Seattle by Cowboys, Intense knuckle fight with a close scoring game between them. I could care less who wins.
  23. Pretty much what you state is what I have always told youth. Education is the great Equalizer that allows people of various beliefs to live together peacefully. If one ignores reading views from all sources it makes one ignorant of trying to understand why the other side believes the way they do and to take those sources of information and come to a better understanding of why society needs to change, technology needs to change, products we use need to change. If we stop learning, stop changing to make ourselves better we start dying.

My son who is a graphic designer and is all Apple has passed on the latest phone's stating there is nothing technologically worth it to upgrade and he now sees better options from the android side that give better quality over apple. He is taking a wait and see approach as he also says Apple has lately seemed to roll out new tech every 2 years like the old Microsoft and now Microsoft is creating new products yearly. It is as if the two companies have flipped their rolls. Some might like Tim Cook as CEO but I think he lacks the creative leadership to drive Apple to new products, solutions and consumer driven demand of profits.
