  1. Picking up the wife at a friends house and this lovely Ford Fairlane 500 in mint condition was parked out front. @balthazar I never have really understood if this was just a node to boating or if there was a real reason for the rear deck on either side of the spare tire. Enlighten me Yoda of all things old!
  2. Both of my Grandfathers who lived into their late 90's always told us grand-kids the following motto: "Learn from History so that you do not repeat the mistakes of the past. Draw INSPIRATION from the past to make a better future by ongoing learning and strive to contribute to bringing a better quality of life to humanity!" Both were Marines who fought in WWII and a few other theaters and always felt the biggest mistake is when we cannot help humanity to have freedom and move forward into the future. Living in the past with stagnate ways of doing things is death to humans. My inspiration is to always find new ways to help others and improve quality of life. Technology has done that and with it many others have drawn inspiration to help people have a better quality of life. Hurrah!!! to the Future! Here is a perfect video showing why we learn from the past, move to the future and help all.
  3. Agree, I hope they can deliver. Interested if they are using the MB urine treatment system in the exhuast or just how they are getting these cleaner emissions. Being a 2.0L size engine also tells me that they must have figured a bigger engine delivered something that smaller size does not even with a turbo.
  4. Very respectable rating, should do well for them. I do wonder if this will be the last Hurrah for Diesel trucks as Electrics start coming to market. After what Ford showed with a 1.25 million ton pull in their AWD electric F150 I would think that Diesel days are limited to the next 20 to 30 years.
  5. That roof line says I have little headroom for people over 5'6" tall. ?
  6. Assumption is what you made and the first 3 letters is what a person is when they make those Assumption's about a person. I DO NOT hate convertibles or any open top auto and just because I have a Silicon nose bridge and my cheeks from my face now cover my nose due to cancer, I still do not hate them or being out in the sun. I am more cautous about being in the sun, but there is really only ever been a real convertible and that was built in the early years when size did not matter and you could have a real convertible and @balthazar has shown us many lovely REAL convertibles. The only one I really love and was driven by the one man I have always drawn inspiration from Arnold Schwarzenegger is this: 1957 Cadillac Convertible that he has owned since he bought it. Second most lovely convertible is the Cadillac Convertible Eldorado he drove in his 1985 movie Commando: Even though it was FWD. Course I have always had a soft spot for this lovely Cadillac Convertible: 62 series Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. In regards to the Dakota pickup truck convertible, it was a cool concept poorly executed and they could have done much better if they wanted.
  7. Another perfect slayed out explanation as to why Costco with their set prices have surpassed many dealers to become one of the largest dealers. People hate to deal with the haggle of sales at less than reputable dealerships.
  8. I used to think it was cool but the more I look at the Dakota Convertible Pickup truck that Dodge made in limited production, the more I realized what a waste of resources they spent. I bet most of those trucks had to be sold at a loss.
  9. Seems the 2019 eCOPO Chevrolet Camaro Dragster is going to auction with a $425,000 to $525,000 expected auction price. There are some other lovely old auto's as well. https://russoandsteele.com/featured-vehicles/?tsauction_id=203&search_text=&run_day=&caryear=&caryearto=&showpage=1
  10. Seems to do very well for Bose and many other high end products. Corvette is a bargain at the MSRP price and would not only simplify the sales experience but guarantee a consistent profit margin to the dealer. End result would be a win win for both GM and the dealer.
  11. Full size SUV with Thors Hammer would be cool! ⚒️
  12. I honestly do not see why GM cannot do what other companies like Bose does that sets a price and retailers are not allowed to sell it for more or less than the stated price. The additional market markups needs to be smacked down by the auto companies and they can do this by refusing to ship them products. I get what ever the market will bare, yet at the same time if GM is truly wanting to build goodwill, then they need to control their dealers and stop the stupid price add on's. I refuse to do business with dealers like that.
  13. Want Crossovers yes, convertible on top of the crossover, I doubt it.
  14. Just the Facts please and according to the following: http://concealednation.org/2016/01/how-many-guns-does-your-state-have-a-look-at-the-numbers-plus-comparisons-to-other-countries/ This info is from the recognized statista.com web site. https://www.statista.com/statistics/215655/number-of-registered-weapons-in-the-us-by-state/ As of 2018 it would seem 43% of US households have at least one gun. Of those that do have a gun, most have multiple. https://www.statista.com/statistics/249740/percentage-of-households-in-the-united-states-owning-a-firearm/ This in comparison to the number of auto's: https://www.statista.com/statistics/196010/total-number-of-registered-automobiles-in-the-us-by-state/ According to the statistics, we have 375 million guns or equal to 113 guns per 100 people. According to the statistics, we have 272.48 million auto's registered to people in the us or .85 of an auto per person. Guns are winning ownership.
  15. As one that has lived in the sun but after skin cancer and a rebuild of my nose, now uses hats heavily and prefers to stay out of the sun. Pass on this convertible.
  16. Cute cuv for small people who want a small auto. Have to agree with @Drew Dowdell as the power seems anemic for the auto.
  17. I expect consolidation around the globe for all the auto makers as the recession takes hold.
  18. Seems the news around the globe is all in sync for a global recession, the big ?????? is how big and how deep. Could it be the big Global depression that everyone has feared about and could really blow us into a cast system of have and have nots? https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/jan/05/global-economic-crash-2020-understand-why https://upfina.com/2019-global-economic-recession-or-just-a-slowdown/ https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/09/business/economy/recession-world-economy-federal-reserve.html https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-08-14/recession-warnings-pile-up-for-the-battered-global-economy https://www.wsj.com/articles/as-global-order-crumbles-risks-of-recession-grow-11565784000 All good reads especially this one. https://www.theguardian.com/business/live/2019/aug/14/germany-economy-shrinks-gdp-recession-uk-inflation-stock-markets-business-live
  19. According to the faithful, superior off road capabilities. AKA Rubicon!
  20. Does this picture signal the investment potential in Amazon? Watch Mad Money! He has for the last few weeks been talking about the impending recession / correction. He does talk about some real bargains and the potential consolidation in the auto industry.
  21. His GC is a 2017 model. I had a 1994 Sahar Wrangler, was fun but your right back breaker if you want a smooth ride. I tend to think of the Wranglers as more of a youthful ride even though the prices are crazy now especially for a Rubicon. Take my Escalade over a Wrangler any day.
  22. Has way more style than the current Yawn of style at MB.
  23. Not bad looking, better than what they have now.
  24. Guess they want me to buy Asian.
