Nissan News: Nissan Patrol (Armada) Leaked Out On Facebook

Over all just Meh!, but I do think the nose is better, the rear tail lights remind me of the old Lincoln Navigator. The interior is just another refresh that neither excites me or bores me. Just Meh! -
This is so true of the states that follow California CARB. They are figuring in an equal gas tax fee to your yearly auto registration. Washington state for EVs adds a $150.00 fee onto your auto registration and $75 on top of Hybrids. The off set to this as some said this is higher than what ICE only auto's pay in gas tax over a 10yr life is that we have no sales tax on EVs and reduced on Hybrid. https://www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/altfuelexemptions.html On August 1, 2019, the sales and use tax exemption was reinstated for the sales of: vehicles powered by a clean alternative fuel certain plug-in hybrids The exemption applies to dealer and private sales of new, used, and leased vehicles sold on or after August 1, 2019. New vehicle transactions must not exceed $45,000 in price or lease payments. Used vehicles transactions must not exceed $30,000 in price or lease payments. These price thresholds include both the cost of the vehicle and the value of your trade-in, if applicable. For example: If the cost of a new vehicle is $48,000, and the value of your trade-in is worth $6,000, you can't receive the tax exemption. Even though the trade-in brought the cost down to $42,000, the new vehicle was still worth over the $45,000 limit. You cannot use a trade-in to lower the price of a vehicle to meet the exemption limits.

Porsche News: Porsche Puts Tesla in the Crosshairs

I get it, I was being a bit sarcastic as my day been a crazy one, but I would hope since the bits of this are being shared across the Audi and VW product line that they should be able to at least break even at that price point and even then if they do drop 1 motor, 1 controller and the wiring to go with it plus other stuff, they should be able to have an entry price point about equal to Tesla I would think.- 39 replies

Sure they can do a $75K version by just taking 1 motor away for RWD only. But will they is the question I ask. Probably not for the first few years.- 39 replies

If I ever get the urge to get back onto a bike, I would go this route for ICE: For EV I would go with the Live Wire from Harley.

Porsche News: Porsche Puts Tesla in the Crosshairs
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Porsche
Actually this is on par with what Tesla did when they first came out and I would be willing to bet that as Porsche gets their battery tech ramp'ed up especially in regards to solid state you will see more battery options over the next few years. Porsche is playing catch up, but I expect as a Premium brand they will surpass Tesla in a much shorter time frame.- 39 replies

Porsche News: Porsche Puts Tesla in the Crosshairs

That seems to be on par for me with the Tesla S, as I got into one and out of it, but lucky me I am flexible. I do agree with you that I wonder about that comment also on the Porsche. Tesla X is not roomy either but to me and yes I am big. Yet still excited for these auto's as this is the start of all things EV eventually.- 39 replies

EXCITEMENT!!! Tesla is going to have to really step up their game as I believe this car will be way superior than a Tesla S. Tesla has their Ludicrous mode. I wonder what Porsche will eventually come out with? ?- 39 replies

Lamborghini Unveils 808 Horsepower Hybrid

I have been reading that many auto sites are now looking at Benchmark Sprints with distance covered as a more reliable test since even a V6 Camry can haul ass off the line now. I honestly agree it is time to retire the 0 to 60 quote of performance. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2012/05/zero-to-irrelevant-in-sixty-years-its-time-to-change-the-performance-benchmark/ To Quote: It’s time to replace the 0-60 test with something that is actually relevant to modern American motoring. The quarter-mile, as wonderful as it is, really does exceed what’s safe and sane. I suggest eighty miles per hour as a good compromise. With the possible exception of I-94 in Chicago and 495 in northern Virginia, if you can accelerate to eighty miles per hour you’re going to be good to merge. I would also suggest that, in lieu to time, we substitute distance. How much room does a car need to get to eighty? That’s the most relevant power statistic we can provide the American motorist. I will say I love all the new Vehicle Benchmarking that is being created. https://www.avl.com/vehicle-benchmarking -
5 years ago I cut the cord and went with streaming to enjoy the shows I wanted to watch, reduce the commercials and BS Media Manipulation. Course Social Media is even worse than Mainstream American Media. Rather read BCC or some other news source over our current mess.

Seems Cadillac is behind the 8 ball in regards to the new V series due to emission issues that they say are now resolved but explains why the V and Blackwing 2019's which are all sold out have not shipped to a single dealer yet. http://cadillacsociety.com/2019/08/31/cadillac-ct6-v-deliveries-delayed-over-emissions/

Seems VW is full court press for setting records in EVs. They just posted the fastest time ever for reaching Heaven's Gate in China. 7:38.585 for conquering 99 hairpin turns on the 10.906 kilometer Big Gate Road. Very cool pictures and details can be found here: https://www.media.vw.com/releases/1194

@daves87rs I am really interested in why you think putting up a commercial grade charger is harder than a destructive environmental gas station. All the EPA regs and double wall tank plus underground leak sensors, soil sensors, etc. compared to running the 220 or 440 3 phase to a pad and putting up the trickle or quick charge chargers. Right now there are 22,800 commerical charging stations in the US. https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/electricity_locations.html#/find/nearest?fuel=ELEC&country=US&ev_levels=2&ev_levels=dc_fast&ev_levels=1 According to the U.S. Department of Energy, we have the following statistics: 270 million ICE autos, 150,000 Gas stations, 1.2 million pumps which equals 225 ICE autos to a single pump. 1 million EVs at the end of 2018 registered, 22,800 Charge stations, 63,840 Charging connections which equals 15 EVs per charge connection. This does not even include 110 or 220, level 1 & 2 home or business connections that are out there. I would say the EV charging infrastructure is building fast. I would say check out your area for current details.
