Korea Cadillac is going great to get people to try out their auto's. Cadillac is giving free rides all over Jeju Island as people go there to swim and enjoy the warmth. Kinda like going to the Florida Keys Islands. Great way to get people into a Cadillac even for a short trip and let them see what the auto is all about.

@Drew Dowdell I am using Opera, and have not had any issues till today. Any thread I am in and if someone else posts to it, I usually get the pop-up at the bottom of who posted and do you want to show the most current one. Now it just shows up with a circle to represent the person and a black box. Anyone else seeing this? Yes very weird that part of the info of who your quoting is blank too now.

And all look cheap like any other auto in the same segment. @ccap41 Come on you know that for the price you pay for these 3 auto's you can get better CPO options out there that look way better.

Either company would be good for FCA to merge with as I think they would also benefit from the dynamics of larger global purchasing / sales. I honestly cannot see FCA, PSA or JLR surviving much longer as an independent company.

Interesting, Guess BMW had that car in a variety of Matte finishes: Matte Bronze Matte Green M6 version in Matte Black M6 in their Green is Nice.

So then this would say BMW is joining the likes of Toyota, Chevrolet, etc. in whoring out an auto to every Tom, Dick and Harry they can! FWD is the New Ultimate Driving Machine? ? GM beat them to this by what 30 years? @balthazar

Do I get a Millennial Hug to make me feel better and Trophies all around so we do not forget to include everyone both winners and losers? Course according to the 21st century parenting guide, there is no more winners or losers. Everyone is equal. ?

Rivian Files For Patent on Reconfigurable Bed
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Rivian
Very cool, found this on it too: http://gmauthority.com/blog/2019/03/gm-advertised-but-never-sold-a-single-unit-of-the-samson-car-history-alley/ I see they had plans to produce 2,250 of these cars the first year and then 5,000 the second but none other than the prototype ever got built and while it was announced, it actually never went into production. Very interesting for GM and the acquired Samson tractor company. -
The car is growing on me more and more, but then I always liked the front half and the rear end. Just that weird part by the C pillar, but I do agree it will be a moot point once you tint those damn rear windows and realistically all of them. Still think that redish color is the best so far on this sedan.

Rivian Files For Patent on Reconfigurable Bed
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Rivian
Sorry, might be late due to long work day, but what do you mean people might want to learn how to use what? The optional bed features, the skateboard platform for building auto's? Please clarify for my tired brain. Thank you -
Listening to Welcome to the Jungle as I work on wrapping up projects for our big trade show in 6 weeks.

I believe he is talking to @regfootball

Totally agree on the color comment. No we are not pansies bitchin, that back section from B to C pillar is terrible, but the rest of the auto is awesome enough to deal with that flaw. Life is not perfect, eat some chocolate and drink your wine and enjoy the majority of what we can!
-
I honestly hope this is not the case, I would rather they go on the bigger size than scale down.
-
I think the one thing we are missing here is the safety requirements. Newer auto's like the CT6 have far more nanny devices / safety features on how an auto is to crumple and fold around the cage holding the humans. As such, I suspect one thing we are all forgetting is that the safety requirements of the auto's are going to eat into the interior room of the auto. I do not know for a fact, but that is one thing we have not touched on is the increased safety crash testing requirements. This could explain the reduced size of trunks.

Cool stuff found while eating lunch. Colorado ZR2 Bison details at GM Tech Link web site:https://gm-techlink.com/?p=11181 Toyota upping investments in US to $13 Billion.

I would say they were building a scaled down Escala and then the Bean Counters showed up at the point of the B Pillar and said you have X amount of cash left, finished the car with X dollars and we ended up with that back end mess.

Hopefully their investment in Rivian gets them access to the platform so they can get it to market fast. -
Next gen Charger underpinnings - what's it going to be?
G. David Felt replied to trinacriabob's topic in Dodge
Totally agree, if and when the next gen Charger comes out, either Turbo 4 or V6 as the base engine has to have a minimum of 300HP. -
Love a clean engine bay, Lincoln did a good job. I understand this is a white one compared to yours, but I get it, clean for what it is. AGREE totally on the dark brown contrast. My Escalade is the full cream / tan interior with brown dash and while they did not have it available when I bought it, I would love to have the Mocha interior they now have on the Escalades. Platinum Trim gets this interior as the only option to black: Where as Luxury and below levels get the Mocha Honestly for the money one spends, especially at the Platinum level, one should be able to choose any interior they have.

Rivian Files For Patent on Reconfigurable Bed
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Rivian
This is very exciting, I wonder if one could get a longer bed then to replace the standard 4.5' bed. That would allow them to build a single truck with bed length options. The future of trucks / SUV's based on a skateboard concept is what will bring true customization to peoples orders as they can mix n match what they want in their auto. EXCITING TIMES! -
Fisker Shows First Look at New Electric SUV :Comments
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Fisker
True and valid points, thank you my friend. Yet I still find that while we learn from our failures, those CEO's that are better grounded tend to bounce back better. In regards to Fisker, I have now wondered what the auto failure rate was for auto companies in the 1910 to 1930 range? ? I was looking at the hundreds of Chinese auto start up companies, the few here in the US and wonder how long before we see a crash and a flow to the history books for a bunch of these companies. Fiskar while he is a show man, I question his ability to actually deliver his auto's. I hope he does not turn out like Faraday, exciting concept auto, but yet to deliver anything but spending others money.- 10 replies
