  1. @Drew Dowdell Is this like the 7th or 8th month in a row for Mercedes to have down sales with the continual message of ramping up new products for sale later in the year? It seems to be that they have been in a constant slide down for the last half a year or more while saying new product is coming. Seems really weird their messaging.
  2. WOW, so the Outback and Ascent carried the whole product line. Crazy, but glad they are growing in what looks like a bloody quarter overall.
  3. Yet that info is also based on battery packs that had no environment control or insulation to moderate the affects on the battery packs. With the winter testing being done in Alaska by Tesla and other auto companies, I expect that 30% loss to drop over the next couple years. I have to think Ford with their EV F150 coming is looking at ways to minimize that kind of loss in cold temp climates. Just as they have plug in heaters for the blocks on ICE auto's, we know that GM for the Bolt has a regulating heater / cooler for when it is plugged in to keep the battery pack from having drop off. According to posts I have read this morning, folks that had Bolts in cold climate with below freezing had around a 7 to 8 % range drop off. Being plugged in over night helps minimize the cold affect on the battery.
  4. Interesting mix of sales across cars / CUVs. The telluride really helped out this month.
  5. @smk4565 Says any real luxury auto line must have all those models to exist, so BMW is listening to SMK as they follow the MB road map even as you point out, they exist on a total of 5 models only.
  6. Surprised that the CUV segment is down for them.
  7. So nothing new here except I am surprised by the drop in some of the Jeep numbers. At the rate Fiat is going, the doors should be closed on their dealerships by this summer I would think. Alfa should be dead again by the end of the year if not sooner. What a waist of money on those labels.
  8. Ya forgot one, TLX with SH-AWD SH-AWS Type-S Turbo!
  9. Toyota is doing what many of us had hoped the American brands would have been doing for years, just solid sales with solid consistent quality. Nothing new here.
  10. Mini will always have a fan base, but not really sure how you could grow the mini business unless you grow their size. BMW CPO is not surprising as I am hearing from coworkers that a used BMW like MB is the worst auto to buy due to the cost of repairs and maintenance.
  11. These negative numbers is what I was expecting on a every auto maker reporting by now. Surprised that some really have had positive especially in car sales. Nissan needs to find their mojo, maybe talk to the Fast n Furious film makers again.
  12. Honestly surprised the over all auto industry has continued with the sales gains especially the car area.
  13. Should make a solid commuter car for those looking at Toyota.
  14. Interesting is that Tesla has the highest resale value of any luxury auto in Germany. https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-model-s-highest-resale-value-germany/ The list of highest resale value of luxury auto's is as follows: Tesla - Model S Porsche - Panamera Audi - A8 Mercedes - S-class Luxus - LS BMW - 7 series Jaguar - XJ Makes one rethink the marketing tag of "The best or nothing at all!" Tesla is going to go against the big 3 truck makers and will have to deliver bigger than any of their current auto's for them to sway the loyal masses. This is going to be interesting to watch!
  15. Actually the Tesla Semi is rated at 80,000 lbs https://www.tesla.com/semi As to what the actual torque is along with hp, who knows. Just for Apple to Apple comparison, seems that most modern semi trucks come with a 38,000 to 40,000 lb differential system. https://www.mylittlesalesman.com/sleeper-semi-trucks-for-sale-i2c55f0m0 Yet if we look at the Top of the line best Semi in the business, the Kenworth W990 system the transmission is good for 110,000 lbs but the dual axel system is only good for 80,000 lbs. So Tesla has spec'd Kenworths top of the line Custom Semi that starts at $100,000 and can top out north of $300,000 dollars. It is amazing to see them roll off the assembly plant in Renton Washington here. I have taken the tour many times, very cool to see these custom ordered babies. https://www.kenworthsalesco.com/kenworth-trucks/kenworth-w990/ Yes, Tesla has built a car that is faster than an exotic sports car, yes they have built a CUV that is faster than just about any other CUV out there. This is great and as you know I am all about moving to EV's. Yet, the personal truck market is a very different beast and Musk has not fully delivered yet any full size auto at a profitable price let alone a mid size or compact auto at a consistent profitable point yet. Just what he will deliver in an electric pickup truck that would attract a conventional truck buyer is anyones guess. We have Rivian which is fully focused on delivering a full size pickup but only a limited amount of specifications at this stage. Tesla which is anyone's guess. We know this is disruptive and as such Ford has an Electric F150 as they do fear the loss in pickup truck sales, otherwise why would they invest R&D in the mules that have been captured so far. What is GM or Rams response, we do not know at this point. https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-pickup-truck-rivian-r1t-vs-ford-f-150/ I will say that it is going to have to be equal to the ICE trucks and look like them.
  16. Your parents are looking good Blu!
  17. ? to you Blu! Mark my words enjoy your laugh as the winds of change are going to change things very much over the next 10 years more than some of you here realize. ?‍♂️
  18. I agree with the thinking, while Musk's EGO is printing HUGE Fictional Checks, as @balthazar has clearly pointed out, the RAM, Ford and GM trucks have a very high bar with a diesel engine even in 1/2 ton configuration for Tesla to cover and Tesla HAS NOT done anything Full size unlike Rivian. I actually expect Rivian to deliver before Tesla will and that could really hurt Tesla. My gut is telling me with GM's investment in Rivian, we could see some Hybrid / EV magic in the full size pickup truck from GM and that could lower costs enough to being a battery deciding difference on the pricing.
  19. I can believe this, I also believe that with the quality of full size trucks and SUVs, that people are holding out till they see what full size EV pickups and SUVs are like. I know I am in no hurry to buy another ICE auto. For me, depending on features / functions an EV pickup or SUV will be my next auto purchase. Who it will be from could vary as right now Rivian is the leading option, but that could change in the next 12-18 months as more and more models come out. I truly believe which ever OEM builds a Hybrid pickup that doubles gas mileage while maintaining feature / function fully with no increase in price could steal a ton of sales.
  20. Very Sharp, Regular looking auto's with less maintenance should help EV's get selling. I expect this to do very well.
  21. Dirt Track Racing seems to have really picked up here in Washington State, The evergreen Raceway and drag strip sees races, but even the high school drags have stopped, I honestly do not know the last time a drag race of any kind was done here in Washington. Sad as I had fond memories of going to the drag strip for High School drags at the end of the year. Always fun to see what the kids built out of the auto shop class. Time are a changing.
  22. Yet if you look at the pictures of the GM, Ford, FCA, etc. assembly lots, I do not see the bulk of the workers buying the auto they build but seems to be allot of Asian and European auto's. Yes many workers take pride in their job but still own another manufactures product. GM responded to the people who screamed the loudest, not the bulk of who is actually probably buying it. I doubt those that screamed actually own a GM product. While there has been without a doubt garbage built by American, Asian and European auto companies, one point that needs to be made very clear is the LAZY Americans who DID NOT follow maintenance schedule and when their American made auto needed repairs cause they ignored the 30,000 mile service schedule, they complained and went to the Asian auto's that Engineered the product to work till 100,000 miles. Then they complained about the bad American built auto's that actually worked just fine as long as you did the service schedule. I know this as I ran into many such people who bitched about this and never took responsibility for following a service schedule. Yes all auto makers built some crap auto's, but just as many worked long lives just fine when you followed the every 30,000 mile service schedule. I still have my 1994 GMC Suburban which has such schedule.
  23. You sound like all the other entitled brats out there, Mary at least knows how to run a business for profit, not losses and self destruction. At least she is making a profit unlike some leaders that only made their money by bankrupt after bankrupt and stole it from hard working folks. No one is entitled to a job, no one is entitled to anything, you work hard, save, and earn the privilege to own something, have the service, etc. Face the facts that we are a global economy and I have yet to see you or anyone else bitch about no American TV set maker, phone maker, computer maker, etc. America is past the economy days of manufacturing. We are now a service and intellect provider. We all have choices, you can choose to go to college and have a college degree job, go to trade school and have a trade school job or bounce from job to job with a high school or no school education. One gets out of life what they put into it. Welcome to the Multi-Cultural all encompassing society of products built from around the world with various languages, thoughts, beliefs, etc. Enjoy the Rainbow! ?
