  1. Could not prove that by me, E and S are the bulk of what I see in the PNW and of course all the variations of their CUVs especially the bargain basement GLA CUVs that are everywhere and are driven bloody slow especially the AMG version. I have never seen an A in the wild and the C while popular maybe 10 years ago, I rarely see any now, if I see one, once a month that is surprising here.
  2. The shine is off the newest fruit of tech love and Tesla is about to get a wake up call as other OEMs start bringing their EVs to market that gives them an electric CUV rather than a car. The car days are over at this time, people want activity vehicles and that usually means a CUV, be it FWD, RWD or AWD. People want the perceived space and versatility that marketing has pushed out for years about a CUV over a car.
  3. Good thing GM and Ford are pretty much going away from this segment as adding in the tech, I just do not see how Ford or GM could justify to build a break even let alone profitable small car like this. They just do not seem to figure out how to built profitable feature rich small cars.
  4. Interesting, if they do end the C7 production, could help push prices up on remaining models for those that want it over the C8. Gonna be interesting to see the final reveal as right now it reminds me TOO MUCH of the Italian Garbage over priced sports cars that I car less about.
  5. So what is the full story? Cause here one of two things would happen. It would be fully restored and end up here: https://www.americascarmuseum.org I spend plenty of hours every year enjoying this place ^^^^ Or one of the High Tech Peeps would take it, restore the outside but electrify it with a nice large Frunk! Around Seattle plenty of old 911 Porsches have been converted over to Electric like this example: https://engineswapdepot.com/?p=13737 eWilly's are very popular here too: http://www.ewillys.com/tag/electric-jeep/
  6. While agree with most of what you both say, I actually take a different spin on this using a perfect example as follows: In the Greater Pacific Northwest, that covers Oregon and Washington state, there used to be a high end Audio / Video dealer called Magnolia HiFi. They only sold top end gear, always had separate rooms setup so that those that want to experience high quality / high priced gear could try it out, then buy and schedule up installation and configuration on site. Magnolia HiFi was founded in 1954 and had 13 top end stores across the PNW. The children were not interested in Audio/Video as their dad, so on Dec 18th 2000 with Revenues topping $100 million a year, Best Buy stepped up and purchased them for $87 Million giving the children a pay day as the father retired. Now Why do I bring this up? Best buy then opened in every store across North America the Boutique Magnolia store within a store. To this day, Best Buy still has great high end gear / sales due to taking the concept of Magnolia and spreading it across the country in every store they have and making sure that that store inside their store is still the best experience ever. This is what I believe GM needs to do with Corvette. Corvette needs to be a Boutique inside of the Chevrolet dealerships that only sells V8 Powered and Electric Powered cars, SUV/CUVs and Trucks. These should ONLY be top of the line best powered performance auto's. The benefit here is that Cheverolet can whore out the rest of the history with entry level to so called SS visual packaged auto's with a bit more power, but when people who do not want the mid level or luxury level names such as GMC, Buick or Cadillac, they step into the Boutique store for a Corvette powered auto. That is who I see GM maximizing the Corvette without creating another division or group that has to be separate from the existing company divisions. In fact, GM needs to figure out the best way and they might have already by just having all GMC / Buick dealerships be a required merged dealership. Is there any more sepereate GMC or Buick sites? I have not seen any in a long time. GM needs to improve marketing for all name brands covering the full product line and not just spend it all on 1 name plate for a few years till another product gets updated and then shift focus. They need Family Coverage Marketing.
  7. Yet you know Chevrolet will never let the Corvette go away even though they have Camaro.
  8. Simple, to me I say leave Corvette in Chevrolet, but offer Corvette CUV/SUV V8 options. Currently there is no real performance CUV/SUV at Chevy. Corvette is the ultimate performance auto, so why not have a Corvette performance series of vehicles and leave everything else the way it is. Last performance SUV was my Trailblazer SS 6.0L V8 AWD, bloody fast and fun to drive, Chevy has nothing right now to replace it unless you move up to the Heavy RST Tahoe.
  9. All brands PERIOD should be tagged equally for calling a premium lux or performance brand with pathetic 4 banger or 6 banger engines as crap. I do agree that it is amazing how many will attack an American brand for a certain image and not the Euro or Asian for the same pathetic small engine in what is supposed to be performance or luxury. Reminds me of throwing stones in glass houses.
  10. RIGHT! I totally agree that Corvette needs to have a performance CUV/SUV and this tech SHOULD be shared with Cadillac as part of their V Series. Other than the V Series, I think Cadillac should be the focus point for moving all things to EV as a true Tesla Destroyer and checkmate to the Germans.
  11. OK, Woke up to this email from Chevrolet, seems the count down clock on the new Mid-Engine Corvette is set and running now. 97 days, 15 hours till the reveal. 7-18-19 is the new reveal date of a mid-engine Corvette.
  12. Wish Cadillac would realize that not everyone wants normal chrome. Just think of a Platinum edition Escalade all in Black Chrome.
  13. That's OK, I figured he was just putting us all in the Happy Group of Auto Enthusiast! ? Now I feel alone! NOT but that is OK Dwight, I still get ya!
  14. I like the 3rd option as that would be best for me if I needed cash. Long term things especially properties tend to still go up. Refi, get the cash you want to deal with things you need to do and then have a management company run them for you.
  15. WRONG, Totally disagree with you. There is always taxes and maintenance in everything you do. Property, especially places to live will always be in demand and having a solid revenue stream is important especially on the back half of life when you need cash flow. Right now, Drew is not really needing it, if the management is a bit much for you, then hire and pay a property management company or person. But building your wealth through property investment is better than just having cash sitting around even if it is invested in wall street. Balance, you need cash, you need investments and that should always include property. The tax breaks for property, management, repairs, etc. are ways to deal with paying taxes and gives a nice variety of how one manages their income / wealth. Once your in your 70's if you need cash, then sell the properties, but now I do not see the need even with the price of property growing we have to cash out unless you truly need to pay down debt. Property is one of the long term investments I always recommend for people.
  16. WOW ? We get an Acura PMC TLX SH-AWD SH-AWS with special paint. I think Acura could get a few more letters on the back.
  17. Very cool, I am excited to see this go into production and hope it get expanded into more body parts to help reduce weight thus improving MPG. Would be great to have a lightweight SUV body of this stuff.
  18. Totally agree with you about the words, but also I do like her unique voice. For me many songs tend to either click for personal reasons or motivational reasons. One that I can always get going on especially as I like to listen to it just before going to the gym. We all tend to come to that point where we question our relationship, our career, our life style, the things we like and dislike. I can understand that greatly, my son just broke it off with his girlfriend of 7 years as he was very unhappy in the relationship as of late and needed some time to himself and to figure out where he wanted to be career wise, relationship wise, etc. His girlfriend is not perfect, but Kay was a good compliment to him in a number of ways but also had a number of nagging personal things that also made her not a good fit and I get that he needs to see if she is the right one and where he fits. So dad helped him move back home. Crazy having a full house again. My son just quite his directorship position as one company he has been at for 7 years and took on a contract role to grow and expand his experiences. Not sure how that will work out either. Lots of changes, but some times we all need to do that. Just do not settle for what is good if you truly think there is better to be had. Good Luck Drew in what ever decisions you make in life, one always has to be happy with themselves before they can make others happy.
  19. @oldshurst442 Having grown up with a father who had a repair shop, made race cars and have driven my share of big block V8's and Supercharged V8's. I can tell you that I get where you are coming from. The Supercharger wine and power is amazing no doubt about it and I always loved that sound since I saw the original Mad Max Movie. Yet with that said, I get the all natural aspirated motors. Having a custom built 402 in my Suburban, I can tell you the long hard pulls of power and movement without the wine of a supercharger or the G push into the seat of the Turbo but a true push into the back of the seat from raw big block power is something most younger people have never experienced. I can honestly say I know now where I get my passion for Electric auto's, they give the same solid push as a massive big block V8. That long constant pull of power. I get what you feel and think about it. This could also be why I am a critic of all things DOHC built engine with high horsepower and weak torque. I just do not see the need for these high revving engines when we could build them simpler and cheaper. That is the attraction of electric, I still think long term, electric will simplify and be cheaper than ICE auto's to run for people and the planet.
  20. One of the best performances ever, tribute by Heart to Led Zepplin doing their Stairway to Heaven. I could watch this many times over. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
  21. Agree while the foldable phone is cool, leave it to the rich with surplus cash to burn and the ego of Look at me with the new Toy and crease down the center foldable phone.
