  1. I believe both figures to be exaggerated and not true. Sadly a number of near retirement people have given up on finding jobs due to their expectation of high wages they had before the 2nd great depression this country had from 2007 to 2012. As such, I believe the U-6 number is closer to double that and the regular Unemployment is also higher than what is reported. Yet then what can really be believed anymore with all reporting seeming to become gray. Transparency is more and more no longer accurate. I do question how companies must report things as the monthly reporting does not really take into account trends and quarterly I do believe is more accurate.
  2. Yup, not much diesel compared to gas for sale. Wish I could find an easy quick way to see the comparison of diesel registration to gas and EV. One site has the info but not gonna pay thousands to read it.
  3. Nope, west coast, did a search and found a whole 43 across the 3 west states for the toxic diesel compared to 388 gas. Yet that is in comparison to the whole country which has 2,979 diesel Colorado's compared to 59,673 gas versions across our country according to auto trader. I say Diesel is not that big of demand.
  4. Right, same thing with the crazy sloped windshields. Mazda Komodo dragon design seems to be a head bonker for us big guys. I have found most Asian auto's with their sloped windshield can really make it hard to get into the auto.
  5. Not so sure about the Inflationary effect. As having to work in a city where they went to a mandatory minimum $15hr living wage, I have noticed so many of my coworkers that used to go out to eat have changed to bringing in brown bag lunches like in school. Many small places to eat have closed up or to keep prices the same have cut the portion size in half. Cost of parking in Seattle has doubled in the last 2 years. Daily parking was $30 all day with $25 early bird parking. Now early bird parking is $55 and all day is $60, event parking for the stupid pro teams is now anywhere from $80 to $160. The last two years costs have exploded. Seattle now has average home prices of $1.1 million. Where I live up north, the days of finding $300,000 to $500,000 homes are gone and now starting home prices are around $600,000 and go up. Wages are stagnate, if you want to make more money, it seems entry level jobs around here require a masters degree in tech. A bachelors is what people used to think of an AA or 2yr degree 10 years ago. One positive is that Highschool kids who apply themselves can graduate with a 2yr college degree and go into any of the 4yr colleges here and have their bachelors by age 20 and masters by 22. Wish that was an option for me as I would have done the extra work to get it.
  6. So true, been without a auto payment for years and yet I suspect once the wife decides on her next auto, we will have one again. Life.
  7. True, but you can always use a beater for beaten streets. Yea, this last winter was harder late in Feb and so we have more than usual and that is with using environmental deicer what ever is in it. At least non of my auto's have become rust buckets.
  8. I heard those wheels were the early prototype for the airless all plastic / rubber wheels that have been experimented with.
  9. So somthing like this? I love it especially if they do deliver on AWD Electric which would sell the wife. I wonder if this would have sold better if it was 4 doors? ? SSR
  10. I thought GMC tried that with the Envoy XL or some weird extra long with a rolling roof thingy. Would be great if GM would come up with a new term to replace the gad awful crossover coupe name.
  11. Best looking Dakota was the 98 gen which matched the look of First Gen Durango. The current Durango is a WinWin so just copy it and go or like Robert says us a Promaster City cab/chassis version and build a FWD pickup which would work too.
  12. Should find some buyers in the coal huffing West Virgina and surrounding state.
  13. Once it pops, deals are gonna be all over as dealers try to unload new product and CPO / used.
  14. Lately I have seen many new auto's where the owners seem too lazy to remove the labels and yet the auto has a license plate, not been washed in a month of sundays and body damage from winter. Truly lazy asses, that are pathetic use and discard elements of society. Pathetic how some have become.
  15. Have not seen a base pickup truck in my area in years.
  16. I understand the point you are stating, but from all accounts, Alfa and Maserati DO NOT generate profits. The billions taken from Chrysler, Dodge, Ram and Jeep to build a platform and sell a few thousands auto's does not make Alfa a profit center and Maserati has been eating up company capital also. Drew once said merge the two together, but I have to wonder if they really can survive in the over load of auto choices especially with the Chinese pushing their own auto industry so hard. Italians seem to be lazy about building quality auto's.
  17. Agree, should stop waisting money on trying to revive and push out the garbage italian auto's and focus on what drives their profits. Kill off Fiat and Alfa and invest in Chrysler as a luxury brand to mid market brand equal to what Buick and Cadillac are.
  18. Amazing how far we have come in auto design from this and how the EV industry has used some of the same thinking in making their auto's today. Please correct me if I am missing it @balthazar but did not the beginning of the industry do a type of skateboard concept with the frame and the body was just bolted down onto the top of it with everything else either between the frame or under it? @Robert Hall If ya was back in AZ, you could check this out. Rivian is gonna be at the Overland Expo West.
  19. Let's not forget that with XFS starting to be installed and Toshiba solid state batteries to go into Nissan and Mitsubishi auto's that are planned to go on sale in 2020 as a 2021 model we will have two options. 198 miles battery pack with a 6 min recharge time or the 396 mile battery pack that recharges in 12 min via an XFS charger. XFS is what Shell has implied they will install at their gas stations for paid use by the public.
  20. Cool, Jetta Sportwagen EV! I like it!
  21. So how will you get that gas with no power? ? No ability to pump it from the ground tank to the dispenser and then into your auto. No Power, no ability for the refinery to process the oil into gas and then transport it to the wholesaler and then to the retailer and then into your auto. No power, then no ability to drill the well to pump the oil into the holding tanks, then into the rail car, to the refiner to the transport, to the wholesaler, to the retailer to your auto. With power, be it solar, wind, hydro, natural gas, coal, nuclear, power generated, transmitted over the lines and dispersed via various charging stations or even in your own home means: ALWAYS FULLY CHARGED in the Morning, Fully charged during the power outage times due to weather storms, Means not going out in a storm when you are near empty to make sure you have a tank of gas in the morning to attempt to get to work. EV or ICEV???? ??? I will grant you both have exciting reasons and draw backs, yet like the early 1900's we are at the beginning of a new exciting era. Enjoy your ICEV Blu, I will enjoy mine too till the EVs are in production that will fit me and I can retire my ICEV for an EV. Thank you for the tension breaker. It is spring and lovely today. Off to do yard work.
