  1. Performance for DUMMIES. That is what I think this change is at Cadillac, my gut tells me this is the last of Johan's changes he was doing. Rather than a V-Sport and V edition auto's. Johan was so in love with his German brands that he wanted a V edition that would then go by numbers. CT4 V = 320hp / 369 lb-ft of torque OR CT4 V = 239 kW / 500 Nm CT5 V = 355hp / 400 lb-ft of torque OR CT5 V = 265 kW / 542 Nm So then would Johan have a CT4 V 500 and CT5 V 542? If CT4 V had a 450/450 TTV8 would it then be a CT4 V 610? If CT5 V had a 640/630 6.2L V8 would it then be a CT5 V 854? I get the idea of simplifying the name with a number that represents a bigger engine. Yet I question if the public is able to adjust to these new numbers and properly understand it or not. ? Wonder if we could have a super CT5 V with the 755/715 V8 Supercharged from the Corvette in the car, that would give us a CT5 V 969! ? Could be covered or purposely left off to not give away the actual HP / lb-ft of the cars. I myself think it would not be bad to have a V series of cars that go by Torque / Newton meters.
  2. @smk4565 Outstanding read on understanding Torque and Horsepower in laymen terms. https://www.quora.com/What-is-torque-in-terms-of-cars-and-why-is-it-important-in-layman-terms OR this has great visuals to help explain the Torque versus Horsepower too: https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-meaning-of-torque-and-power-in-a-car-in-layman-terms-If-you-say-a-car-has-a-particular-torque-at-3000-rpm-and-power-at-4500rpm-what-does-it-mean Another great way to explain it here: Prepping for the Electric auto world, this is a good overview of Newton-meters: https://www.theunitconverter.com/newton-meter-to-foot-pound-conversion/360-newton-meter-to-foot-pound.html Also excellent conversion chart here where you just enter the figures and have it figure it all out for you. Future is metric man: https://www.metric-conversions.org/energy-and-power/newton-meters-to-kilowatt-hours.htm
  3. Good Luck, let me know how it goes as I imported, they got alphabetized and all were given grey stars, even after visiting a web site, edge does not seem to pick up that sites unique icon if they have one. Trying to organize them on most popular to least did not work well for me.
  4. Agree with everything @Drew Dowdell has stated as that has been my experience to date and Dell Tech has gotten us a corporate discount with Uber and they push their employees to use it both personally and for business to save money. With that said, I have also found a private car service if your are a ways out to be cheapest of them all usually scheduled up days in advanced and then I call the day before to confirm a person will be at my house for pickup. For me where I live, private car service is cheaper than Taxi, Uber or Lyft.
  5. I see nothing stopping this from moving forward into the 3rd largest auto company in the world and hopefully a clean up of brands and the mess they have. Be interesting to see where Nissan stands after this, but my gut tells me the Japanese will be happy to stick with being independant and just co-producing platforms to share costs. ? I wonder if this means "Alfa has a Hemi" Spawn Child style!
  6. @Drew Dowdell This is a very sharp Riviera with the Turbo V6 1985. http://topclassiccarsforsale.com/buick/112915-1985-buick-riviera-t-type-turbo.html @balthazar Seems this Turbo V6 is the base engine from the Buick GNGX. 7. I feel that way about Toyota Pickups and VW in general. Bland blah auto's that have not soul.
  8. Totally get and agree on the interiors, Yet the body does speak to me. Maybe it is the older guy in me over ya young buck! Having that powertrain in the Riviera would have been AWESOME!
  9. Heading back to Opera or Chrome, not happy with Edge. Seems to not give me the unique icons for my bookmarks. I cannot just drag and drop a tabout of a browser and have it become it's own page like in Opera or Chrome. A bunch of other nuances.
  10. Easy for me to answer is all the bloody praise heaped on the hard plastic interiors of the superior Lexus CUVs and how they are better than anything America builds. My sister was all set to go test drive and buy one based on all the crazy praise the Lexus gets and once inside, she was totally underwhelmed. Test drive was also not impressive and she ended up buying the Buick Envision. Far superior to the Lexus.
  11. Day 1: you start with 1 penny but end with 2^1 pennies Day 2: you start with 2 pennies and end with 2^1*2=2^2 pennies Day 3: you start with 2^2 pennies and end with 2^2*2=2^3 pennies ... Day 30: you start with 2^29 pennies but end with 2^29*2=2^30 pennies In dollars, you now have $10,737,418.24. (And not, $5,368,709.12, because 1 penny is what you have on day 0, not on day 1, when the doubling started) Of course, if every day you are adding what you are getting to what you already had, then in the end you would have $(2^31-1)/100, or $21.474.836,47.
  12. @ocnblu Alright young man, please explain the down vote on the Electric Mack Garbage Truck post? ? Downvoting is your right, yet it would also be professional to then respond with why you downvote it so that we can all understand what you are downvoting? Is this just continuation of your hatred for all things electric? Hatred for NY trying to improve the air quality by removing toxic Diesel trucks? Hatred for MACK who sees the need for a better garbage truck and has built it? Hatred for the fact that Battery production is increasing nicely that should allow more auto companies to produce and release a larger variety of electric auto's? I am patiently waiting to understand! ???
  13. @Drew Dowdell For $26,900 you can become the proud owner of an all Original Buick Regal with 9,000 original miles of this ultra rare, more so than a Grand National GX. 1 of only 1,547 built with 245hp Turbo 3.8L V6 with 355 lb-ft of torque. https://www.showdownauto.com/vehicles/480/1987-buick-t-type?utm_source=motorious.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=motorious#next-image
  14. I also know that I under consume as I hate to shop compared to most it would seem, I also feel Balanced Trade is a better term for what all countries should strive to achieve. I also agree that our Federal, State, County and city governments all FAIL to live within a balanced budget and over consume to a point of hurting American society.
  15. One thing that is overlooked is that countries like Spain, Greece, France, etc. where they do have tariff's but also have high wages, unions, etc. also have a very high unemployment especially in the youth ranks. Spain runs 20-30% import Tariff, as such, debt is higher and unemployment rates are crazy high. Tariffs are NOT the answer. Here is a good read on the Tariffs of Spain: https://www.export.gov/article?id=Spain-Import-Tariffs Here is a good read on the debt to income in Spain due to Tariffs: https://www.magnuscmd.com/tariff-deficit-how-expensive-will-it-be/
  16. @ocnblu Burn baby burn all the peteo you want, humanity is dead after 2050. New Report Suggests ‘High Likelihood of Human Civilization Coming to an End’ in 2050 http://flip.it/-UDbyv
  17. I give ya the remake Yet some people are more like this: Then you have me which is more like this: or this: So True, Dictators love power and Tariffs tend to allow them to stay in power. Freedom needs to break it.
  18. Seems VW averaged 128.6 mph in setting this new record. Makes ya wanna go Hmmmmm about ICE powered auto's. Porsche 919 Hybrid EVO set a lap time of 5 minutes 19.546 seconds that has remained pretty much untouchable since 2018.
  19. Thanks for posting the news link. Appreciate that. I will politely and completely, disagree with you in regards to the scary right mental cases. Left has plenty too, both have lost their educated minds hung up on ignorant party line rather than looking to fix american working together. America's Extremist parties of the Left and Right, AKA Democrats and Republicans.
  20. Yes, top end models are built in Texas, but the middle and low end models are built in Mexico and this is going to hurt the blue collar labor force more than the white collar. No matter what, Tariffs are not the way to go to solve social issues by hurting your own citizens with higher costs. Tariffs are the tool of ignorant individuals.
  21. Thank you Robert for reminding us that they did presale all 275, so it is NOT a question of If it will get built but WHEN it will get built and then we will see real official numbers. My gut tells me that all the delays in the AMG1 is due to not hitting their original selling numbers on HP / Performance / Etc.
  22. For those that might be interested: Official Harmonized Tariff Schedule 2019 https://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/index.htm
  23. AMG One is Hyperware as no production and no real specifications at this point, just concepts which MB/AMG are good at showing but not delivering. Let's hold off on comparisons to mythical auto's till they actually are in real production form.
  24. Interesting story, Washington state is considered to have the best economy in the US right now plus the worst unemployment rate for those not college educated. https://www.king5.com/article/news/state/washington-has-best-economy-in-us-study-says/281-650f8fcc-d58e-4d9e-9ee1-375fc513755b One does have to wonder how Tariffs are affecting our ability to export products. Washington leads the country in Export of fruit, yet the asian rim is taking less exports than they used too due to the tariffs. History is riddled with religious leadership attempting to control through ignorance the population. Religion would rather have everyone stupid and poor to blindly follow them. I totally agree that rational thought and science from educated individuals usually brings calmer heads. We do not need another holy war on a global scale.
  25. So then should we just build walls between the states and require special visa's to move state to state then? ? After all the art of the deal is dead, dictator for life is the focus here as well as killing the economy, increasing costs to use consumers. The Art of political negotiation compromise seems to be going the way of the endangered species around the world. We seem to be heading back to the ignorant days of caste system of have and have nots with those born into wealth thinking they are the rightful rulers of everyone else. Education is the great equalizer that is failing the leadership to learn from history and improve on the future as a global society!
