  1. G80 seems to have the same presence: G90 2020 sure has a presence WOW, they also have a G90 Special Edition that sure has presence!
  2. Thanks for posting, seems you can buy and pay the dealer to program and install it or in the thread you posted there is a person who will send the unit programmed and you just have to plug n play to swap out head units. QUOTE: Every 2014+ has intellilink. You do not need to specify it like the older generations do If you have no nav, then you have RPO IO5. The HMI part number I gave you would upgrade you to RPO IO6. RPO IO6 is the same system you have now but with the factory nav option. Your icon for on*NAV will change to just "Navigation" as the unit has a nav application and maps built into it. If you use a NG2.5 HMI with IO6 (the part number I sent you), you will add Android Auto, CarPlay, and Navigation to your current system. You will loose the Time Shift Radio functionality. You will need to add a nav antenna (the blue connector) No it is not hard. If you have ever put a radio in a car before you can handle this. It is a plug and play upgrade. You can purchase it preprogrammed from Chris@whiteautoandmedia or you can go the DIY route and procure it yourself and have someone program it locally.
  3. Just looked up and the 2015 and 2016 use the same ECU part number. This is very interesting as it does make me scratch my head on why the 15 could not get the phone feature. Will have to dig into this more later as I am really wondering why. ?
  4. Seems that they do use the same part number nav system so you could get a 2016 with Android / apple and put it into the 2015 car. I checked a few other GM OEM part sites and they all use the same part number. Like Drew, not sure why the 2015 cannot be upgraded to work with the system but 2016 does say it is compatible. The radio / antenna components for Digital Audio are the same too. Very interesting
  5. WOW ? First time building a Rubicon and I did not even select everything and still hit $60K. ?
  6. This just confirms that how an auto rides, drives and the overall layout inside of how a person interacts with an auto can be positive or negative. One persons like of how it drives on the road is another's person negative. At least we get to arm chair quarterback and debate these in a civil manner. Thanks for the post! I will agree with you that both of these cars have that same presence!
  7. What ? Trump did his own FAKE News? Shocker This goes along with the statement that Mexico also said was FALSE, Trump's claim that Mexico was going to buy immediately a ton of US produce. Which would drive an increase in truck sales to move it. Yet again not happening. At least for now, this Tariff thing is over with Mexico and we can move on with our focus on work and life. Truckin since it sounds better than SUVin, lol
  8. Toyota’s bold new electric cars look nothing like your friendly Prius http://flip.it/3Wq13u Seems Toyota is joining the ev game and moving up ther time table to get them to market sooner. No frumpy Prius here.
  9. Out wine tasting with my wife and sister. New Gladiator showed.
  10. Your missing my point, Building a race engine is one thing, we all know MB will put this into as many auto's as they can to recover development cost. Point being, plenty of quality engines have been built with low end grunt that moves plenty quick with decent hp. This engine continues what I view as a poor design based on Marketing lies about needing high reving high HP engines with lower torque or very weak torque as most Italian cars have and more and more German cars have. High RPM to produce the torque does not make an efficient engine. Proof is in the need to Turbo the heck out of the auto's adding a ton of weight and not really getting any more MPG efficiency out other than a smaller engine for lower tax purposes.
  11. Agree that the Quad had it's problems, Yet it was loved for being a motor that could be turbo'd and pushed to over 1200hp / ft-lbs of torque. I give props as MB has built a small motor with high HP / torque numbers, yet the Torque is still below the HP and high in the RPM band. This means like a sewing machine engines you have to really rev it to get the performance out of it. GM on the other hand built plenty of small motors that could move without reeving the hell out of them.
  12. @smk4565 this hurts, MB best selling GLC is not getting the love in the new release. As they say, one step forward and one giant step backwards. Mercedes-Benz GLC review: one step forward, one step back for this popular family SUV http://flip.it/erXKDL
  13. Wonder if a 2016 radio could be bought and fit into the 2015? ?
  14. Yes allot of Juice, but pathetic still. Still not sold on these overhead cam and in this case dual with high horsepower and weak torque. Guess Germans like Italian love their High revving noise over actual grunt of moving. Interesting note is that the Quad 4 always had more torque than HP without a turbo and still passed emissions. Anyone that drove a Quad 4 could feel the grunt of movement in your gut without having to race the sewing machine engine.
  15. I actually am, this is a hand off to a new generation. A.I / M.L. is a reality, for those not accustomed to the acronym, Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning. I am working on a project right now, it is real and will be coming to technology near you soon. I am excited by the new robots and the final hand off from both Linda and Arnold to a new young cast. Having Cameron doing the movie, should be great.
  16. Lovely another WASTE of Tax payers dollars on a company visit to really hid the cost of being used to stump for re-election of Potus45. https://www.abc27.com/news/local/carlisle-west-shore/vp-pence-to-attend-pa-gop-state-dinner/2053594541 Pretty clear this is a fund raising / re-election visit than a valid company visit. Need to stop of Political people from abusing the system this way. Seems since December 47,000 manufacturing jobs have been shed. Guess the Trump Bump is over. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-04-05/manufacturing-jobs-boom-is-fading Harvard University economist Robert Z. Lawrence described this phenomenon in 2017, writing that it suggested “a tradeoff between the ability of the manufacturing sector to contribute to productivity growth and its ability to provide employment opportunities.” In the booming 1990s, big gains in manufacturing productivity were accompanied by more or less flat manufacturing employment; in the less-booming early 2000s and in the immediate aftermath of the last recession, spectacular gains in manufacturing productivity were accompanied by plummeting manufacturing employment.
  17. Totally agree, I think there is more here that will come up as your right, the sales reporting was in the news for a long time, yet this I think will bring up additional uglyness.
  18. Yet it does hurt the Americans in their pocket book. The gov is another mess all together and I just do not see this changing anything versus getting an agreement to send advisors to work with their military on the southern border. We have tried the Bully with a big stick approach before and look what it got us in Panama. A General becomes dictator and biggest drug lord that then has to be removed by us after we put him in there. End result is the Tariffs are the wrong approach I believe.
  19. That is the error in his logic as it will not hurt americans except in the pocket book and it will not stop people from attempting to come to America for a better life. Also Mexicans make up a minority of people attempting to come into our country. Good read here on this subject as 2007 was our highest rate as 12.2 million illegals and yet Nafta has helped to reduce that amount to 10.7 million by 2016. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/11/28/5-facts-about-illegal-immigration-in-the-u-s/ This is additional good info on the subject of illegals: https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/12/03/what-we-know-about-illegal-immigration-from-mexico/ NPR also backs that Mexico is no longer the lions share of illegals. https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/04/25/525563818/mexicans-no-longer-make-up-majority-of-immigrants-in-u-s-illegally
  20. Agreed, the Tariffs will not change the immigration of people attempting to come to the US for a better life. It will also not bring back those jobs already moved offshore.
  21. I understand what you are saying but in reality, I doubt much if any of the jobs will come back to the US versus going to another country that has low labor costs and no tariff war with the US. Perfect example of this is I can see much of the computer assembly work being done in Mexico going to 3rd world Asian countries like Malaysia.
  22. Dirty Laundry in the news now to attempt to force them to pay him. Gonna be interesting to see how this goes. Suspect other ugly things will show up.
  23. Very true, I heard this morning that it will take 180 to 360 days to move sub assembly to other manufacturing plants either in the US or other countries where we have no Tariff war for computer parts. Whole assembled computers with are many companies that build them in Mexico are looking at 18 months to 2 years to move. So guess what, Monday is coming and all prices across the board go up 5% ON TOP of existing Tariffs and then they change to 10% on July 1st, 15% on August 1st, 20% Sept 1st and 25% Oct 1st. Many do not realize we already do have tariffs on existing products from manufactured goods to food such as Avocado's. Get ready for your costs to jump big time this month and the rest of the year.
