  1. At least it is not your shake n bake current cars or CUVs. ?
  2. @balthazar Thought you would like this. Citroen built to spec a new 1922 Sahara Half-track. https://jalopnik.com/citroen-recreated-one-of-its-legendary-sahara-crossing-1841610315 Pretty Cool
  3. Drop Dead Sexy, Fords New Liquid Carbon GT. ???
  4. Seems Yamaha has decided to get into the EV Motor game. You can buy it as a crate motor for conversions, but they are also offering full engineering services to talor their EV motors to customers needs in both the Auto and Motorcycle segment. The Yamaha EV Motor can hand from 35 kWs to 200 kWs or for those wanting to know in traditional ICE terms, 47 hp to 268 hp. No torque figure or any other details were released yet, but they did release this video showing a converted Alfa Romeo 4C to EV.
  5. Seems VW is not wanting to loose anymore money like Honda does on their Ridgeline pickup. As such, according to the story, VW is killing the Tanoak CUV based pickup. https://www.thedrive.com/news/32166/volkswagen-doesnt-want-the-honda-ridgeline-problem VW points to the loyalty of the American buying public for trucks and says even Toyota has not been able to crack the Truck Nut. Having 1 or 2 percent of a market does not justify the R&D to get the product done. VW does say with the EV Trucks, this is what they see as a potential RESET of the Truck market and while there will still be strong loyalties, he says VW might come in with a competing AWD / RWD Pickup EV.
  6. Marketing of DOHC Twin Turbo Bangers does not mean it really is the best long life engineering solution. YES, The German brands to me DO have it Wrong and it is NOT impressive when they are driven. But then I drive auto's that have outlasted pretty much everything those brands you brag about have built in the last 30 plus years. I see more American Small block motors lasting much longer than the Germans and even in the asian rim, it is amazing to see how many people also convert and install an american small block V8. The engineering of the Small Block V8 has out performed so much of the European motors. There are rare exceptions but they are rare.
  7. Yup, I would say there are hard times ahead for all auto companies.
  8. Nope not true, WOW, you really look through rose colored Blinders. Will agree to disagree as electric superchargers are out there too just like electric turbo's and have no LAG. Seems you have also forgotten European auto companies that use superchargers too.
  9. Lets also point out superior to Turbo charged motors. Supercharging always is better than Turbo. Marketing has fed the global Public a LIE about Turbo's that is proven with supercharged motors. Clealry, GM failed to maximize the variable uses of a supercharged engine.
  10. Why? Motorola has a new Razor coming, as does just about everyone. Seems a full screen Smartphone that fold in half to take up less space is the new trend.
  11. Wow, a very rare 5.3L V8 extended length Trailblazer LT.
  12. They also showed off the new Flag ship phones Galaxy S20 Phones. WOW, so you have a choice 64 mega pixel on the small and medium phone, 108 mega pixel on the Ultra.
  13. Get ready for smaller smartphones. Samsung showed off their new foldable smartphone the Galaxy Z Flip. Small square screen on the outside, big foldable screen on the inside.
  14. @dwightlooi has clearly pointed out here, this whole mess of Turbo everything is a joke as you can get a NA V8 with that power or go with a less weight supercharged V8. Twin Turbo and Turbo engines are just over complicated messes. I agree with @balthazar as I also am reading on other sites that insiders are saying an Escalade V is still coming and that has the room to hold this engine. Read this the other day, seems the TT V6 from the AST-V edition will show up in the new CT4 V Blackwing edition. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/2021-cadillac-ct4-v-blackwing-expected-with-twin-turbo-v6-engine-from-ats-v-140638.html
  15. I was also thinking the same thing, are they looking to transition to EV versions of what they do on Diesel's? As they say, We live in interesting times!
  16. Will be interesting to see if the Diesel brothers can get the drive-able prototypes built in time for their fall show.
  17. Seems Jeep Gladiator could be in trouble. According to the web site The Truth about Cars, they reviewed the first year sales and said on average, Jeep moved 5000 Gladiators a month. Yet now in 2020, Jeep is putting $9,000 on the hood of a discount with some dealers going even higher to move Gladiators. https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2020/02/big-discounts-could-mean-big-trouble-for-midsize-jeep-gladiator/ The biggest problem seems to be that mid size truck segments have all the competition starting at $10,000 less than the base bare bones Gladiator truck starting at $35,040. Could Jeep have over estimated their brawny Gladiator is better than the competition and was worth $10,000 more for a base bare bones 2wd truck?
  18. @oldshurst442 I understand your POV and totally agree with relaxing at the beach!
  19. When Tesla showed off their Pickup Truck that was excessively polarizing, Nikola Semi Truck showed off a concept truck they had already worked on and offered it to Tesla as the real truck to go with. Tesla as usual thumbed their nose at Nikola who is focused on Electric semi's that use Hydrogen generators to achieve a 1200 mile range. With Billions on the books and with them moving from Prototype to manufacturing stage, Nikola came back out today and announced they have have teamed up with Heavy D from the TV Show Diesel Brothers. Nikola specs is AWD with 906 HP, 980 lb-ft of Torque and a 300 mile battery pack with Hydrogen generator for a total range of 600 miles. Prototypes for test driving by media and potential customers who have put down a deposit will have their chance later this year at Nikola World 2020 event. 20. I actually HATE the city. Too noisy, too many people, stench of Urine, Dirty, decay smelling. Hate the waste of tax dollars on Billionaire sports teams. I honestly see very little value in the City. Love the woods, the peace, natural sounds. I do not get how my son and daughter can have music blasting or a movie while trying to work or study. Very weird to me. I go into the city enough as my job is there at least 3 days a week and work from home 2 days in the quiet of my home office. As I have posted before, if I could do my job from a river front home in the woods of Alaska, I would.
  21. Did ya like the Ciel better?
  22. The more I look at the Elmiraj, the more I am confident that Cadillac FUCKED UP! Elmiraj should have been the face of the XT6 and the new Escalade as well as the CT line. Wish I had the Photoshop skills to put this nose on the 2021 Escalade. I feel it has the proper presence and elegance that an Uber Luxury SUV should have.
  23. And the ramp up of Battery Cell Production is hurting the ability to make EVs. Jaguar i-Pace production is being suspended as they have not received their shipments of batteries from LG due to LG not able to ramp fast enough after signing contracts with Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. All 3 companies have had to shut down production due to battery shortages and while all 3 have also signed contracts with Samsung to get additional battery cells, the ramp up has not happened fast enough to keep productions going. This is very hard for Jaguar which sold 18,000 i-Pace's last year making up 16% of their auto sales. I find this quote from the article very interesting: Some of these automakers are finally making big investments into their own battery production. But even VW, the most serious of the incumbent automakers, still predicts to sell only 20 million EVs over the next 10 years – and their annual sales are 10 million. So that makes ~80% gassers through 2030 when ICE car bans start going into effect in Europe. And yet these sluggish EV plans are still ahead of most of the incumbents. https://electrek.co/2020/02/10/jaguar-pauses-i-pace-production-due-to-battery-shortages/
  24. I grew up in a little town called Darrington, Washington. I can totally understand how you feel, even today, dial up modem is the only way, no radio other than the local church. In between multiple mountain ranges so even getting greater seattle TV over the air is next to impossible. Here is a current picture of the town now. Winter wonderland. Love it there, as my parents had us in a log cabin on 5 acres on the outskirt of this town. As you can see lovely sun sets and a weird triangle intersection is the core of the town. Great fishing and hunting. One can easily get off the grid here.
  25. Seems Electric auto sales have surpassed Manual ICE auto sales. 2019 only 1.1% of auto's sold were a Manual Transmission. Electric auto's were 1.6% of sales in 2019. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1127027_confirmed-electric-cars-outsold-manuals-for-the-first-time-in-2019
