  8. Excellent read on how focused training allows Sales people on auto lots to sell 10 times more EV's. The focus of a sales person is to direct a potential buyer to an auto they understand and can sell quickly to get their commission and move onto the next sell. A study was done starting in 2017 to figure out how to better sell EV's. There are now kiosks that help explain the biggest question of buyers, EV charging and how the various different chargers work. Charge away kiosk helps potential buyers in more than just where chargers are located, by also answering basic questions to help educate the public about EVs. https://chargedevs.com/newswire/startup-chargeway-launches-kiosks-to-showcase-ev-charging-options/ This secret sauce allows people to plan and feel better about road trips, time to recharge an EV, etc. Breaking down the type of chargers and where they are greatly helps people decide. Green for Nissan Leaf, Red for Tesla and Blue for those that follow the CCS standard. This was especially helpful in that this software company and Charging infrastructure supplier realized the challenge for dealerships where turn over of 50% a year in sales is very common. The kiosk helps the sales folks get up to speed on selling EV's very fast. This became true as the company grew and started to put the Kiosks in dealerships that actually had inventory of EV's. Sales increased from 2 to 10 times greater turn over. Story for reading is here, the full report will be published in September. https://chargedevs.com/features/shoppers-buy-more-evs-if-they-understand-charging-and-now-theres-proof-exclusive-first-look/ Deliveries are starting for the VW ID.3 as the first 700 just got off loaded in Norway where they will launch the sales of VW ID.3 in Europe in what is currently one of the largest EV markets around.
  9. Interesting review, plenty positive but also plenty Negative about the Mercedes-Benz GLB. For a green car report, they clearly liked the Electric MB that was sold on the west coast and feel the GLB should have been pure electric from the start. With that said they did give a decent review on the auto and how it handled form City driving to a 900 mile trip. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1129420_2020-mercedes-benz-glb250-drive-review-price-specs-photos-info
  10. ALERT: GM moved their Corvette Engineering Team to the EV Team. This could signal the shift for a performance focused Electric Corvette. There is a much smaller team left on the ICE Corvette, but it seems that the future will focus on Electric. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1129406_chevy-corvette-engineers-moved-to-ev-team-at-gm
  11. Better be one hell of an ExPeRiEnCe for that kind of Coin and Weak ass engine.
  12. With Torque being so weak, how is the off the line pull? How is high speed passing in this car? Equal to the 2013, better or worse since your last review?

  15. Agree that there does seem to be allot of plastic. I wonder how long before they become painted or if that is an option. I also think to get auto's to weigh less, that high strength plastic will become a much larger use in the auto's.
  16. Those are awesome interiors.
  17. I like a warm brown interior. Earthy, but warm and not sterile like a white or tan interior comes across.
  18. @Robert Hall @surreal1272 @oldshurst442 @riviera74 @ccap41 @balthazar @ocnblu Have to say that VW ID.4 production EV that leaked out in China looks good. Close to the concept. Not a bad looking EV CUV.
  19. According to Electrek web site, VW will open up their reservation system in September. Online reservations for the ID.4 EV will only require a $100 deposit. VW production of the ID.4 for European and Chinese markets has started and is on size to compete with the Tesla Y small CUV. The auto is expected to have about 250 miles of range in base form and start at $40,000. 300 miles plus for the top trim version. Production for the North American Market will start in early 2022 at Chattanooga Factory upon the construction completion of the assembly line and battery production plant. The auto has a .28 drag coefficient. ID.4 Concept https://electrek.co/2020/08/27/vw-id4-electric-suv-orders-september-deposit/ Thanks to a Chinese web site not being secure, actual production models have been caught before the official introduction. A muscular clean CUV EV is seen here and close to the Concept. https://electrek.co/2020/06/17/leaked-photos-of-vw-id-4-electric-crossover-reveal-clean-design/
  20. India's Mahindra announces it will use the Isreal REE platform for commercial EV's globally. REE's modular platform uses in-wheel hub motors and has all electrical components in the wheel well's allowing for a quick change of body depending on the needs. Thus the plateform is very flexible for use as a taxi to delivery van, service truck, etc. India due to poor air quality has stated ALL ICE Auto sales will end in 2030 thus moving the country to EV auto's, Motorcycles, Bikes, etc. Thus Mahindra has become very bullish on building EV's starting with the Commercial market as it also plans for it's auto lines to convert to EV's but on an internal built platform. The REE platform will compete with Lordstown motors and Rivian who both have their own Skateboard module platform and is either already signed to build commercial auto's like Rivian for Amazon or in Lordstown case shopping around to get commercial companies / fleets interested in having them build specific EV commercial auto's. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1129390_india-s-mahindra-announces-it-will-use-ree-platform-for-commercial-evs
  21. I think the answer will be in having them look normal like any other auto and not looking weird like the Leaf has looked. Nissan already has stated the Leaf will not move into the future with their EV product roadmap. They will have their EV's look exactly like the regular ICE auto's. I think that will end up changing people perception. Once someone gets in an auto they like the look of, drives it, they might or might not realize it is electric. I think they will then see a larger change over. This will also require the dealerships to educate their sales staff on the subtle differences between the auto due to the powertrain differences.
  22. Between now and the end of the year, these will come out as each model rolls into the 2021 versions. Some already have an AT4 version, others will come out later this year. By the end of this year all GMC models should have an AT4 version.

  24. I understand, I have come to realize especially after the latest updates to the Ford F-150 line that GM will never replace Ford as the best selling truck till they offer a much wider assortment of interior and exterior colors on all models from base LS to top of the line at Chevrolet and same at GMC. To me it seems GM is willing to be happy at 2nd best compared to Ford in sales. I want quality, but I think they need to expand their color portfolio with the options mix. I honestly was hoping that with going to their new wire harness systems, GM Digital Vehicle Platform that it would have allowed them to offer a better pick your individual features you want. https://plants.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2019/may/0520-digital.html I understand there are aftermarket upgrades for both engines, diesel always seems to cost much more than gas. I also understand that the diesel would out performance the V6. Cost I think will still be a sticking point to Sales. People who come on the lot will look at the V8 versus Diesel and I think will go V8. GM has never marketed Diesel well. It sells to Diesel people, but any benefits are never covered nor is the dealership really understand it to sell either. I just do not see Diesel conquest sales to people who want minimal maintenance and thinking of what they need to do. Diesel fuel, Urea filling of the tank, that now makes two things to do compared to just regular gas. I just do not see people converting from gas to Diesel as they once might have done. The ability to go diesel in America has been missed by the auto companies.
