VW Commercial who makes the Amarok pickup on a proprietary platform has confirmed along with Ford that the next VW Pickup truck will move to Ford's Global Ranger Platform and possibly come to America. https://www.motor1.com/news/444921/ford-ranger-advantage-vw-amarok/ To QUOTE the story: Ford Australia’s president, Andrew Birkic, told Car Sales the next Ranger already has the edge over the new Volkswagen Amarok. As a refresher, VW’s pickup will switch from its proprietary platform to Ranger underpinnings with the next generation. In fact, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles admitted recently the Amarok would’ve been discontinued had it not been for the tie-up with Ford. Australian media is reporting the Raptor variant is earmarked for North America this time around, complete with a revamped 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine while other markets will get the amped-up truck with 2.0- and 3.0-liter diesels. VW is preparing its own potent version of the Amarok that would carry the “R” suffix.

Electrify America is going strong in building out their DC fast charging network across the US. They have now created a new sub division Electrify Home. 80% of charging is done at homes for those that own ev's. One of the biggest challenges for home owners is finding an electrician who will install a Level 2 or 220V home charger. Electrify Home https://www.electrifyhome.com/ now aims to reduce this confusion and simplify adding home charging. As simple as choosing your charger, choose the area you live in and have them tell you who can install the product. 24/7 support for their chargers and 3yr parts n labor warranty. Very simple web site that helps you easily add EV charging to your home.

So true, they USED TO HAVE some good stuff, sadly, those days seem to be forgotten by the current executive team. I get where the Grill is coming from on this concept, but today this is really just seems retro weird on a 21st century auto. Just DOES NOT WORK for me IMHO. -

For comparison side by side, 2003 350Z Have to say the back end is better in this new version, front end is a FAIL! -

Hummer by GMC Truck reveal is Oct 20th 2020 with production set to begin first half 2021 on sale summer 2021. That is still way ahead of Ford now. As Ford had originally stated Summer 2021 on sale and it slipped to production start late 2021 and now late 2022. Like Tesla, they seemed to have slipped big time. I wonder if this is due to ramping up battery production which was also an issue with Tesla. GM / LG battery production will help them deliver far more reliably I think than others. Will have to see as I do expect Rivian to deliver their truck first, then GM and then is a toss up between Ford and Tesla.

Interesting first review of the 2021 Yukon Denali. I will say that I am tired of it being compared to smaller European luxury SUV/CUV's but then what else is there to compare it too. I do love the new interior on the Yukon Denali. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/reviews/2021-gmc-yukon-preview/

I do find it bothersome that Ford has continually slipped on when they will have their electric F-150 out in production. Now according to Detroit Press, production is to begin in mid 2022 as a 2023 model? This would put them behind Rivian, Tesla, GM and who knows who else. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2020/09/17/ford-invests-rouge-electric-f-150-uaw/5819541002/

WOW, The American brands need to pay attention to this car. European needs to watch as this is hot. Normal questions from the Sasquatch of the site. Headroom, hip room and Leg room for tall large people? Is the dash intuitive? Seat's, comfy lazy boy style, Ricardo racer style or somewhere in between? Road and wind noise, just how quiet is it?- 15 replies

ultium drive Ultium Drive - GM's New Power Train Lineup
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in General Motors
Here on the local news, Camry and Rav4 Hybrid are the top selling auto's in Washington state behind full size Trucks and Luxury SUV/CUVs. I honestly think we will go through a solid Hybrid with EVs move to total EVs around 2050. Course I will be pushing daisy's by then.- 9 replies

Not Advocating, pointing out that costs have dropped big time on various technology and I would expect unique interfaces to come out in both Chevrolet, GMC and Buick that are far more customizable and lower cost to product than a large assortment of manual gauges. I would not expect the OLED display in the other 3 brands, but I would expect lower resolution LCD displays to become normal as it is far more customizable and easier to produce. Tech has always changed things and I expect this in the 21st century.
