Intersting reads on the life of suburbans and based on the pictures on how much they get repurposed and cut up and changed, I can see by year 5 a suburban has run it's life based on Secrete Service life, FBI, Military, etc. WOW, they are used in ways non of us would ever think. Look Inside The Secret Service's Command SUVs That Are Being Converted For Special Ops Use (thedrive.com) Life is not easy or paid well for being a Secret Service agent, you truly love what you do. What Is It Like To Be An Agent Of The U.S. Secret Service? (forbes.com) Very interesting story done on the Presidential Motorcade and the large amount of SUV (Suburbans) in active duty, reserved and in service that seems to confirm that you need 3 times what is used to ensure the protection of the president. $36.4 Million for these HD Suburbans is barely a rounding error of mention or even noticed compared to the billions wasted in our military such as the storage of thousands of unwanted tanks in the high desert in California. It is an interesting topic on how the U.S. government spends money.

Sadly yes, the Yoke ships on all Tesla S Plaid cars and Musk has stated it will go on the Tesla X update that is coming. Yet so many problems for people trying to use it, I see class action law suite coming for Tesla.

Good things coming for Ford Mach-E as an over the air update will allow it to keep fast charging to 90% rather than the original 80% capacity limit Ford had at the start. Enough history is gathered from the current Mach-E out on the road to allow longer fast charging reducing the time to a full battery pack. Exclusive: Ford Mustang Mach-E Fast Charging Update Coming (insideevs.com) This is the best way to view Mercedes big showing of Electric Auto's to come over the next few years. To me a very consistent ugly conservative image of dated electric auto's IMHO.

Total Mountain German Genes here, I turn pink fast, then burn faster and am a lobster by the end of the day without sun screen and a hat too. My wife and kids, their mongolian roots in their Korean Heritage makes them turn lite pink, then brown and by the end of summer, dark brown. Crazy.

Interesting as I did not doubt that EV mode would help out on the trail, but seems people experience is showing EV over ICE is a better mode. Tested: 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime is better off-road with EV Mode (greencarreports.com)

Seems based on this write up, that Consumer Reports is NO FAN of the Tesla Yoke Steering wheel as they feel there are many safety concerns compared to a traditional circular steering wheel. Gotta say this can come back to bite Tesla in the butt again. Tesla Model S steering yoke is a pain and possible safety concern, says Consumer Reports (greencarreports.com)

Lucid Tesla Porsche Mercedes Even Audi e-tron sedan that is coming to market and pretty much a Porsche with a redesign on the front is better looking than the EQS. I would honestly take an Audi or Porsche over these other cars from a exterior design standpoint, but like @balthazar has stated only American auto's in my driveway. But everyone knows I am an SUV/Truck man, so either Rivian, GM or Ford at this point. So this is my options:

Found this on a Lucid Forum to be of interesting Context for the all glass roof on Rivian and Lucid auto's. A Rivian “guide” (personal sales representative) answered a series of questions posed by a Rivian reservation holder. Some of the answers possibly shed light on some issues that have been raised about Lucid Airs and might help us understand what could be going on at Lucid on these matters. Electrochromic Dimming Glass The technology required for curved glass was too expensive at present. The Rivian glass roof will not have a retractable shade, but Rivian is using a tint that actually blocks more light than electrochromic glass – less than 2% of the total spectrum gets through. (Lucid is making similar claims about the performance of their tint in southwest desert conditions.) Interesting Tech Piece | Lucid Owners - Lucid Motors Forum Then we have a .21 coefficient of drag which makes me think that Mercedes took the easy way out of designing the ugly jelly bean look of the EQS. Lucid Air | Lucid Motors Watch the auto run videos here where you see that the glass roof seems to be electrochromic glass as it darkens or maybe just the way they video'd. They do state the following which makes me think they are taking a tint approach like Rivian. Quote: Glass Canopy A roof with a view. Lucid Air is further opened up by its incredible Glass Canopy. This optional solid glass roof spans the entire cabin almost without interruption – giving everyone in the car a gorgeous view of the sky above. And while it’s crystal clear to your eyes, the Glass Canopy has a slew of protective interlayers to block out heat and sunlight. Lucid Air | Design | Lucid Motors
