  2. I agree that there are many lazy people who will only see e-assist as a way to minimize them having to work out. Yet for those that have medical issues with their joints, tendons, muscles, cardiovascular or heart disease, e-assist will allow them to have more freedom and get out, they still have to pedal, just not as hard. I see it as some exercise is better than no exercise and getting fresh air is better than living in a box never moving much. For me, I never see the need for e-assist for exercise, I want to feel the discomfort of knowing I am pushing my muscles to the maximum. Deeper breathing to stretch and work the lungs, better firmer muscles to know that I have core strength. In regards to the Hyundai Santa Cruz Life Style Pickup, I expect it to sell very well. Far more people are getting into mountain biking, gardening and active life style where a pickup like this that allows them to go do fun things with friends and family makes perfect sense and Hyundai has had a good track record of marketing success. I think this truck will succeed and I can clearly see an e-assist hybrid model as well as a full on EV model. Course with Toyota USA announcement that they will also have BEV trucks by 2023 for the market, makes me think Hybrids will be ignored in favor of going pure electric.
  3. Engineering is always about making it better, faster and easier. Welcome to e-assist!
  4. It is offered in FWD and AWD per their press release.
  5. The culmination of a century of innovation goes with the start of a great new era as Cadillac introduces the all electric 2023 LYRIQ SUV. With testing running ahead of schedule, Cadillac announces that customers may place orders for the LYRIQ beginning September 2021, availability starting the first half of 2022. Vice president of Global Cadillac Rory Harvey had this to say about this auto reveal: “Throughout the next decade, Cadillac will define the future of luxury transportation through a series of exciting new electric vehicles, and it all begins with LYRIQ,” “The 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ’s stunning design and artfully integrated technology combined with GM’s Ultium Platform will deliver a high-performance luxury experience unlike anything that has come before it, setting a new standard for Cadillac.” At launch, LYRIQ premier technologies and performance capabilities will be driven by the dedicated Ultium electric architecture. Incorporating a 12 module, 100 kilowatt-hour battery pack with rear-wheel-drive the Ultium power train will deliver an estimated 340 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque (325 lb-ft) with over 300 miles of range with a full charge. LYRIQ will offer high-speed DC fast charging at 190 kW for public stations. This will add an estimated 76 miles of range in 10 minutes. Home charging will be a segment leading 19.2 kW charging module that adds 52 miles of range per hour of charging. LYRIQ will feature next-generation variable Regen on Demand technology, One-Pedal Driving and so much more. Toyota USA Press Release on the all new BEV product line: Toyota Debuts All-Electric SUV Concept - Toyota USA Newsroom While the US market can expect to get the Toyota bZ4X mid 2022, starting 2023 as a 2024 version Toyota USA has stated that they will have both Hybrid and BEV Pickup trucks, question being is will they start with the Tacoma or Tundra?
  9. Yes per earlier Media release, the LYRIQ will come in RWD or AWD. LYRIQ Show Car Leads Cadillac Into Electric Future
  10. Soooooo then this brings up the question...... ? ICE only auto's might get winded due to the small engines, so e-assist might just be the right way to go to help to little, bitty engines! So should we just e-assist all auto's then?

  13. It is actually a better streamlined look than the Chevrolet Bolt EUV. To me a more striking image than what Chevrolet released. At least gm is recovering costs by having Honda use their ev tech. Honda e-concept Chevrolet Bolt EUV

  17. WOW, crazy build and no where near done. A guy bought a Silva S15, had issues with it driving it home, strips it down and realizes it needs a ton of work. Now with a custom tube frame and a ton of Dimple Work done to add strength and reduce weight, they are painting it, but still has a way's to go. Pretty cool project if your into custom 2 door cars. 21. Honda showed off their first of 10 up coming BEVs, the Honda SUV e:prototype which is scheduled to go on sale spring 2022 as the first Honda-brand EV in China. Interesting is that Honda has kept very quiet about their Global plans for EV's or even PHEVs. Honda which has not in the past had much R&D into BEVs signed a contract with GM to use their BEV platform for EVs and one could make the assumption that this is based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV auto. Honda has also stated that they will use the Ultium platform of batteries and motors in future auto's also. If this Honda SUV e-prototype is based on the Chevrolet Bolt platform, it is a striking image. Honda also then premiered their Breeze PHEV as their first ever plug-in hybrid model. This auto is based on Honda's original hybrid system that has been sold in Europe as well as the North America market. The Breeze will go on sale in China in the second half of 2021. Honda has stated that their third generation of Honda CONNECT will be available in the Breeze and all new products coming out in China this year and moving forward. All Honda brand auto's will have advanced driver-assistive systems and over-the-air updates, wireless delivery of software updates. 23. I always question everything. Facts and science can be twisted to meet anyone's means, I acknowledge that. With the Billions spent on Nasa and so little to prove for it, one has to ask the hard question in regards to is this real or not? I love space, future and change, but I also have the realist side of me that has to question everything. So yes, I will question the moon landings, Mars, etc. After all, gotta have something to debate that is just not about auto's
  24. Seems Honda Ridgeline is a truck to respect, they just won their class at the San Felipe 250 off road race. 25. Seems Toyota is in the news and NOT for good reasons. Toyota has been leading a campaign of suing countries, regional and local governments as they fight what they believe is fake climate change pushing their ICE agenda and Hydrogen agenda as the future. From Europe, Asia and even in the US they have been spending money on lobbying groups and lawyers to fight ICE bans that start in 2030. This is heavily due to Toyota investing heavily in Hybrids and Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that it says is the future of transport. Now Toyota is reevaluating it's anti-climate agenda since European, Asian and North American large investment funds have stepped up their pressure to dump Toyota as an investment stock. Four global funds managing $235 Billion in assets all related to Toyota are representing their investors demands for Toyota to step up and support carbon neutrality. These large institutional investors have warned Toyota that this cannot be a PR move but must be a clear end to their role in negative climate lobbying based on their support of the past US administration, lawsuits against California and other negative viewed attacks across Europe and Asia. Toyota finds itself in an unusual light as they just settled a $180 million dollar fine with the US Justice Department due to Toyota delaying the required filing of emissions-related defects that show millions of Toyota Auto's produce far higher levels of ICE emissions than they stated. Investment funds from Danish investment companies, UK, Sweden and Norway has stated that if the executive management team does not make real valid changes, they will first introduce a measure at 2022 shareholders annual general meeting and if Toyota still does not make changes, they could sell off the $235 Billion portfolio in Toyota. End result is that Toyota has a PR nightmare on their hands as the global population puts pressure on auto companies to step up to greener motoring.
