Cadillac has announced new details in the brand’s transformation to an electric future and a transformative EV customer experience, including ordering information, pricing and EPA-estimated range for the 2023 LYRIQ RWD. Cadillac also announced a special charging offer, designed to simplify the charging experience for LYRIQ customers. “These are important steps for Cadillac, as we make good on our promise to deliver an EV offering more than 300 miles of range and move toward an all-electric portfolio by 2030,” said Global Cadillac Vice President Rory Harvey. “Cadillac will define the future of luxury transportation through its range of forthcoming EVs, and it all begins with LYRIQ.” Ordering for the 2023 LYRIQ RWD and AWD models will open on May 19, with RWD deliveries expected starting this fall. Deliveries of the 2023 LYRIQ Debut Edition, which was available through reservation only, will begin this summer. The LYRIQ RWD model offers an EPA-estimated 312 miles of range on a full charge1 and has a starting MSRP of $62,9902. The AWD model, which will start at $64,9902, adds a second drive unit, placed at the front of the vehicle to enhance vehicle dynamics and performance even further for drivers. When orders open, customers will now have the option to select from two new exterior colors: Opulent Blue Metallic3 and Crystal White Tricoat3. Initial deliveries of the AWD model are expected to start in early 2023, with EPA-estimated range expected to be announced closer to the start of production. Creating a Seamless Charging Experience All 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ customers will receive the option to choose either two years of unlimited public charging credits at EVgo charging stations or a credit of up to $1,500 toward home charger installation through Qmerit4. Customers who select the home charger installation credit will receive up to $1,500 that can be applied toward an eligible professional installation of a Level 2 (AC) charger or at 240-volt outlet at home through Qmerit, for convenient, quick charging of the LYRIQ’s battery5. For customers looking to install a home charger, Cadillac can help throughout the process. Every Cadillac LYRIQ comes with a portable dual-level cordset charger, which enables customers to charge their vehicles from both 120-volt and 240-volt outlets. Through Cadillac accessories, customers will be able to purchase faster 11.5 kilowatt or 19.2kW wall-mounted charging stations. By installing a 240-volt outlet or wall charger, customers can reduce the time it takes to charge a depleted battery from 3 days to overnight6. For installation assistance, Cadillac is working with Qmerit, a nationwide network to help owners find qualified, experienced Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment installers. “This unique offer will elevate our customers’ experience with the LYRIQ, helping them make a smoother, more transparent transition to all-electric driving,” said Harvey. “Like the LYRIQ itself, the charging experience will set the standard for customers’ EV experiences.” LYRIQ Drives the Future The all-new LYRIQ elevates an iconic brand, building on a century of Cadillac’s design and technology innovations to usher in a new era in electric luxury vehicles. It is designed with premier technologies and stirring performance capabilities, enabled by the vehicle’s dedicated electric architecture. A 12-module, 100 kWh battery pack delivers a Cadillac-estimated 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque in the RWD model, while the AWD model amps up the output, with the addition of a second drive unit that raises capability with an estimated 500 horsepower. The AWD model is further distinguished with performance-oriented driving dynamics with power flowing through all four wheels, along with a 3,500-pound trailering capacity7. The LYRIQ RWD model offers an EPA-estimated range of 312 miles with a full charge1. That range is optimized with the Ultium Platform’s energy recovery system, which can capture and repurpose waste energy from the battery. In addition to optimizing range, the system can also help reduce battery energy needed for heating, increase charging speed and even contribute to the vehicle’s performance driving dynamics. When it comes to charging, LYRIQ offers at-home Level 2 (AC) charge rates of up to 19.2 kW, which can add up to 52 miles of range per hour of charge8. It also features DC fast charging rates of up to 190 kW, enabling an estimated 76 miles of range in about 10 minutes6 of charging time. Artfully Integrated Technology Cadillac’s user experience9 system and 33-inch-diagonal advanced LED display, artfully integrate the driver information center, navigation and infotainment systems to communicate information to customers in an organic, intuitive way. Additional technologies are designed to immerse the driver and passengers and enhance their journey. Highlights include: AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system, including headrest speakers, is a Cadillac-exclusive feature that employs advanced technologies, including Adaptive Volume and Surround Technology, to create an immersive listening experience Google Built-In10 compatibility offers a helpful and personalized way to enhance the in-vehicle experience, with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play delivering access to hands-free help, live traffic updates, favorite apps and more Next-generation Active Noise Cancellation helps cancel out undesirable sounds coming from the roadway. Remember, GM did use the locked down NT Kernel for some time, I have to think this change is them wanting a different user experience as well as a look and feel that is very different than what Microsoft offers. While I love the Mach-E and F150 Lighting EVs, I have yet to be impressed with the NT Kernel SYNC system. Here is hoping that GM hits a true home run as this system is already in the Cadillac LYRIQ and HUMMER by GMC.

I understand that it looks like it would not close, but I guess I should have had the auto show person take a picture with the door closed from the outside. It actually does close just fine. I have to think that because it is a CUV with a high roof line unlike the Lincoln Continental that I could not eve get in the back seat on but is a bigger auto is a big part of how that interior space is usable for a big person like me. To me, the failure of cars is that they forgot that there are still big people and they stopped making the interior space big while keeping it a car, low center of gravity, but roomy. I have to figure that the auto industry decided to push us big people into trucks/SUVs and let everyone else of average size get cars. Fine with me as my lifestyle choice is an active one that is better suited to trucks and SUVs over a car.

Here I am in the Bolt in 2016 at the Seattle Auto Show. Would I want to do a road trip in this CUV, Hell NO. Am I comfortable enough to be a passenger or drive it around locally, yes. Wife drove it and liked it how it drove, but as I have stated in the past, she hated the grey and white interior to make it a NO GO for purchase. Chevrolet FAILED at only having the lone single blah interior colors and that will be the downfall of GM if they do not offer interior color options. Happy Wife, Happy Life.

And you seem to have ignored the pictures I posted in the past here showing I could fit in the BOLT. I have tried Porsche and while they are great cars, I know for a fact that they are built for tiny people as I do not fit in them.

Which I would disagree with, the auto leveling system of airbags does an outstanding job as it is the same system used on the Escalade and I totally disagree with the stiff and harsh. I would have to make the assumption that the writer is a pills berry dough boy that cannot handle anything that is not a lazy boy recliner. Want stiff and Harsh, drive the Camaro or Corvette, many others that are stiff and harsh even Chevrolets full size trucks one could say are stiff and harsh, but the Trailblazer SS is far better dialed in for spirited driving while still giving a comfortable ride IMHO. -

It is interesting how the C&D does not talk about the electronically adjusted suspension that the 2006 to 2009 SS Trailblazer has. I do not nor does my wife who drives it far more than I do feel a harsh ride. With the growth of the Seattle area, pot holes are becoming more common, but for most parts, unlike Detroit and Montreal I agree, our roads are far better and we have no problem living with the comfort of our SS as a daily driver. ? Wonder if it could be cause we have more muscle mass. @oldshurst442 Needle all you want, does not hurt me. I agree that the sub-compact and compact EV CUVs seem to be more of a sedan style now. Will be interesting to see what and if Acura builds sedans in the future as their first EV is an SUV and the local Acura dealer has no sedans on the lots, just RDX/MDX and a ton of used Jeeps, Ram and Ford Pickups. Will also be interesting to see what Honda does as their first EV will also be a SUV. @ccap41 Thanks for the link to the story, interesting to read, but sad that they did not really cover the suspension better. -
Open here too, but a smart choice is being pro-active on being protected due to the virus still being aggressive. Nothing wrong with wearing a mask, washing hands, using hand sanitizer, etc. to protect oneself. Sadly, too many people I observe have gone back to old habits with poor hygiene and as such, you see people sneezing without covering their mouth and too many other nasty habits to describe. This virus is not done yet with Humanity and as such, I agree with the CDC that we will easily see 100 million Americans infected come the end of summer/Fall when things get colder and wetter and the virus will replicate in that moisture.

@oldshurst442 I get the point your making, but I still also think that for most drivers, they will not see the difference between those two SS in daily driving. The video is right on, the higher the center of gravity, the more likely you will roll over when you make emergency hard turns. Really comes down to the suspension design of the auto and GM nailed it for the Trailblazer SS. I think they also nailed it for the SS sedan and you are right in performance handling, the SS Sedan would beat the SS Trailblazer. Yet, most people will never drive it like a race car and the way the SS Trailblazer handles, I see no reason to doing deep squats to get into and out of a car compared to the SUV. I wish you all the enjoyment of driving the last of the cars out there as they die off and I will enjoy my suv my friend. -

Howdy all, Back from Dell Technology World 2022 in Las Vegas at The Sands Convention center between The Venetian and The Palazzo. Had 5,500 folks attend, was surprised, but the hands-on labs (HOL) did about half of the number we did in 2019 and talking with customers in the booth brought back lots of folks wanting to talk in person. I saw it as a dry run for bigger numbers in 2023. Sad part, I and one PM was masked the rest of the group from my division was not and from the Executive leadership team of my group on down everyone except myself and the lone PM that wore masks every day and was probably for others a bit OCD on cleaning everything and our hands and not touching our face everyone else is sick with Covid-19. BA-2 version, they all have pretty much the same sickness symptoms. Sad that so many that want to think we are back to normal cannot seem to take a little caution to avoid getting sick. Tradeshow over all was a great success for me, customer meetings and sales deals were awesome, I have no problem with having taken the caution of wearing a mask all the time and staying safe. Sadly this makes me very confident that what I posted above will be true in many getting sick un-necessarily this summer.

@oldshurst442 Bring up an interesting point, ground clearance which is the whole point of center of gravity. ? Guess center of Gravity does not make a difference here. At this point, I would say that both auto's are darn near impossible for most drivers to tell the difference in regards to center of gravity. Experience of the driver and how they respond to motion, pitch, yaw, etc. would make the difference in how they respond. Before you say the Trailblazer SS is taller so it would not do as well as the SS Sedan, the specifications are as follows: Full list in case you doubt me. 2008 Trailblazer SS Full list in case you doubt me. Trailblazer SS is 14.6 inches taller than the SS Sedan. For most driving that people do, that difference will not be noticeable in daily driving or spirited driving of the average person. Yes it would be noticeable in a serious race. Overall, I would take the ease of getting in and out along with the interior room space of the SUV over the Car. But I respect that we each have our own preferences. Market is saying they prefer the room of SUV/CUVs over cars as we both know.
