Like the U.S. Market, Cadillac is sold out for the first couple of years in China and they increased production there too just like here. Right now, I think Cadillac will be fine in ramping up to an all-EV portfolio unlike other automakers that are still a year away or two from launching their first EV. It will be an interesting next 18 to 24 months to see how the EV roll out goes for everyone. Hopefully GM can avoid the pitfalls that Ford has had with recalls lately on their EVs. In regards to Loyalty, just as has been stated by the hard core Tesla owners in my own company in our own company #social-autos slack channel, the Tesla S is a perfect example of still being on the same style 10 plus years, only front and rear bumper covers have changed and except for the Platinum power train change over, Tesla is working old EV when one considers how long they have been producing now and the focus point told to me over and over by these folks is that while they love their Tesla, at 10 plus years on the S that many of them own, the quality/fit-n-finish still leaves much to be desired. As one that instead of buying a Tesla Y, bought a Mach-E as their second EV, Ford Fit-n-Finish is leaps above Tesla even with the few recalls. The quality of the auto and how fast companies update their auto's is going to be the area that could hurt Tesla long term. Software updates can only do so much.

Per the news release from GM: Production of the Cadillac Lyriq has started early, with the first vehicles taking shape at the Spring Hill manufacturing plant in Tennessee. The Lyriq has seen strong demand, with reservations full in just ten minutes when they opened in October 2021. This prompted GM to increase production numbers, from 3,200 vehicles to as many 25,000 in 2022. All 2022 models are sold and the books opened up on ordering the 2023 Model and for that AWD is also now available for 2023 Production, but after 4hrs, the 2023 models are all sold too. 2022 Production is all RWD models. https://insideevs.com/news/588048/2023-cadillac-lyriq-sold-out-70percent-buyers-are-new-to-brand/#:~:text=It's safe to say Cadillac is planning a,2023 Lyriq%2C the company opened a preorder waitlist. Seems GM has started a Pre-order waitlist if enough parts can be built to build the LYRIQ for the 2023 model year. 70% of the customers are new to Cadillac 68% are Gen X & Y demographic I have to wonder how many are previous Tesla Owners who want something different and better built?

@Drew Dowdell Very cool, but Mark Reuss has posted that the Test mules are out on the proving grounds for the Chevrolet Silverado EV. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/mark-reuss_ev-ev-activity-6948288758261645312-lJ5b?utm_source=linkedin_share&utm_medium=member_desktop_web I wonder how long before we see the GMC truck version?

Hyundai News:All-Electric IONIQ-6 Streamliner Sedan is Unveiled
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Hyundai
I have to say that I am really digging the two-tone interior lighting and for me the sparse interior design actually works here compared to the Tesla which I cannot stand. @ccap41 @surreal1272 @Drew Dowdell Thoughts on what everyone thinks will be the HP/Torque for RWD/AWD models? -
Hyundai News:All-Electric IONIQ-6 Streamliner Sedan is Unveiled
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Hyundai
Interior is very spartan, but while the exterior is a Jellybean, there is something very different than the Jellybean shape of the MQS or Tesla S. It reminds me of the early Chrysler cars due to the short front and rear overhang. The front area from the side view in front of the wheel reminds me of the shape of the Audi TT. While not a fan of the Coupe style, it does work here as they keep headroom of the back with the front before curving off to the rear. Have to say that Hyundai is really bringing it and I think Tesla needs to rethink their stale old style. Way overdue for a modern update. -

From a tech standpoint and as one that works in the Cloud and sells cloud services to companies, you have a very wide paintbrush stroke on your question. Are you looking for cloud storage for personal or business use? What is your preferred tech access type? (Android, Windows, Apple, Linux, etc.) Please post more specifically what you are wanting to use it for as your use case will dictate the choices. If you are wanting to just learn about what the cloud is, then let me know that and I can point you to info about the Cloud, but please let me know if you are looking at personal or business use. There are huge differences that most do not realize about the various Cloud options out there. EDIT: OK, I see personal based on @Drew Dowdell and your discussion above. Sorry I was late to the party, Drew nailed it.

Hey McFly, I went to college and graduated from Kobe University. I know Japan way better than you and yes, everything is tiny there, but when my 5'8" tall wife hits her head trying to get into a Tesla X and finds the space tight to allow other adults to sit behind her, they have an interior problem. End of Line! And as I said, until I try it for myself, who knows. Yet, I have stated while they say it has more headroom, my wife would disagree with Tesla due to hitting her head to get in and out and the way their jellybean shape tends to fold in. Maybe Tesla is measuring from the center of the vehicle, who knows but paper is paper, and you are right on head room, on paper, Tesla beats LYRIQ, but in reality, it fails.
-
I will say that the numbers I see quoted for the Tesla X Cargo are off as in reality, those numbers just do not add up in that jelly bean shape especially the Identical cargo space for seat 3 and 2. Just looked and I see like the Chevrolet BOLT, Tesla added in the last couple of years dropped space behind a level floor to give it that space. Other wise that cargo space is like half the size stated due to the rook rake. Easy, paper shows almost 4 inches more room. If we take the approach you seem to have taken saying the Tesla X is roomy, then the LYRIQ should be even more roomy due to the added leg space. Again, I am an exception and as I have always stated, have to test fit myself in an auto first. Is the LYRIQ a Hit for Cadillac? On pre-sales yes, but for me who knows till I can do what I did with the Tesla X, try it. Iwas excited to buy a Tesla X till I tested it and it failed in so many ways for me. As such, I will wait and see about the LYRIQ and other EVs. Seems the new standard to beat is the Hyundai/KIA twins as they are selling like hot cakes and the reviews seem to love them over Tesla.
-
Possibly until I can actually sit in one and judge for myself if it is or not. Considering some of the early by the paper numbers of comparisons the Lyriq will do well against a Model X. Compare Cadillac Lyriq vs Tesla Model X | CarBuzz I can say this, the Lyriq has considerably more leg room and that is a need for me.
-
Measurements are just that measurements and do not actually attest to the interior space and comfort. We have all seen seats that say they support X, Y and Z sizes but reviews talk about how tight, pinching and uncomfortable the seats are. Tesla is in this boat, they state certain measurements, but in reality, it fails to live up to the real-world use. I agree with @oldshurst442 and @ccap41 that the Frunk is a missed marketing opportunity. If it was this way on full size EV especially the Trucks/SUVs, then that would be a major failure. On mid-size, Compact and Sub-compact EVs, I would say it was a smart thing to go with interior space over a small frunk. Tesla 3 & Y FRUNK sizes = 28 inches wide x 15.5 inches long and 8 inches deep. That is pretty much a couple bags of groceries or a very small suitcase. That space inside would add to the spaciousness of the auto and comfort of the people along with bigger storage in the back. I do not see value in those tiny Frunks. Ford Mach-E Frunk = 4.8 cubic feet of space, that is noticeable. Yet think if this was interior space in the back for larger cargo. Yes, the Mach-E Frunk is cool especially when you tailgate, camp, picnic, etc. Yet I am sure there are some that would also like that cargo space on the inside. Engineering tradeoffs.
-
I will have to totally disagree with you on this as one that has taken the time to test a Model X and found it FAILING in so many ways. Failed with the extreme windshield rake just like Mazda, you hit your head trying to get in and this is not just my 6'6" size, but my 5'8" tall wife find it a problem too. Interior space even for my wife was tight and not spacious. Failure as NO ONE can sit behind a big person like me and leg space was still tight even behind my wife. Roof Rake on the rear is a failure for many EVs just not tesla as it eats up interior space and Tesla is not that spacious. Especially if you get their 3rd seat that is a kids jumper seat, you lose more interior space. IMHO
-
We do not know what the reason was, but clearly compared to the pathetic FRUNK on Tesla that can barely hold a small backpack, Tesla was cool as the first, but now just a has-been as Mach-E has a superior FRUNK as does the F-150 Lighting and GMC Hummer.

Happy Birthday Robert, hope you had a great day! ?
-
Cool, Wishing you all the best Robert for your sister and you having a good return on the auction. Agree, the best part is that like you I also will be up for my next booster and both Pfizer and Moderna are saying they will have taken into account the B4 and B5 to help keep us resilient to the newest strains. I just hope that by 2025 this virus burns itself out for the most part like the flu did.
-
Yes, it is a start. Ugh, 81 is still too high. 90 here after high 80's over the weekend. I love my 60's weather.
-
Saw today the Korean EV Twins. Have to say I am really liking them both, way better than the Tesla Y.
-
Take care Robert, life is all about Balance. Look forward to hearing about the final stuff at the farm. Selling it?

Need a way bigger picture, so small cannot see any details, Olds. Nope, not everyone is a winner. That fact is what drives humanity to do better I believe. Saying everyone is a winner is the Lemming philosophy that pushes humans to just accept mediocre. So true, we do not have enough mental health experts to help everyone, proof is look at all the homeless and the issues one can find there. So true, politicians are the worst ever, proof is the last 6 years and how crazy things have become. A solid reason why I believe we need term limits. Stay cool guys, have a great day, look forward to our next conversation/debate on auto's. ?

Thanks, I remember those electric cars from Auto shop in the late 70's, the teacher had one. I remember all those lead acid batteries in the bottom in serial and how it was cool but your right, even in High School I could not fit in it.

B5 is the official current infection version of Covid-19 and as such, both Pfizer and Modern are hoping to have out by August an updated booster to fight these versions since B5 especially seems to attack the lungs more than any previous version and as such, being suffocated by a virus is not on my bucket list. For those that are not into the Science heavy medical papers, here is one that CNN makes simple to understand for everyone. GM Design has poste more images of the Wildcat on their Instagram account. Have to say I really like this car. https://www.instagram.com/p/CfMtYewp_aj/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Really like this green/white two tone. yes the white will get dirty fast, but at least it is not the boring all black.
-
Interesting read, very cool for Hyundai and Kia. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-06-25/these-electric-cars-are-quietly-dominating-the-ev-market

Not Irrelevant, he even says they might have to declare bankruptcy, that is very relevant to you bringing him into the discussion on Covid. He is distracted from doing the main job of running Tesla. Tesla Shares down 1/3rd this year alone and still dropping. Tesla Truck a no show even in Mule form Semi Trucks in mule form but years late already from delivery Auto line is delaying delivery due to of all things supply chain issues that he says they do not have compared to the Legacy OEMs. Vaccine is the thread here, but when one person throughs out a Narcissist that has problems focusing on the only job he has, running a company as he would rather be a rock or movie star due to his look at me attitude, yes that is the problem with Musk and why his paltry $5 million means little when he talks about solving world hunger? How about doing like the gates foundation spending billions to vaccinate children around the world to avoid having them go through what Humanity has already beaten. Let's also not forget that you yourself are not vaccinated as you have posted so why should it matter that he be praised for talking about covid rather than running the company he is employed to run?
