  1. The point is that for the level of work and when one adds in danger, the pay should represent the quality of the job and I have no Idea where you got your median income as MAYBE in some southern un-educated state like Kentucky you get that median income, but not here in Washington State and as @surreal1272 pointed out not in DC. Median Household Income By State 2021 (worldpopulationreview.com) Washington State is 8th in the nation for income at almost $77K a year to live here. Heck even your own state of New Jersey is almost $86K a year. As @Robert Hall pointed out, $44K to $75K is a starting wage depending on job, skill and education needed. I see Union Plumbers and Electrician Apprentices start here at $45K a year in Washington state and once they finish their 4 year apprentice, they are earning on average $85K a year. Again hard to have the best and brightest in DC especially the Secret Service when the pay is low and based on the stories I posted about the Secret Service, quality of life sucks as do the marriages with one of the highest divorce rates in the government sector.
  2. Ford issued their press release late Friday September 17th 2021 as Police departments have been looking for electric purpose-built police vehicles to start replacing older ICE auto's in their fleets. Michigan State Police and the United Kingdom will get a chance to run 2022 with a select group of purpose-built police concept Mach-E suvs. So many requests came in from various police agencies in the UK (United Kingdom) that Ford decided to rotate through various agencies there a limited number of concept Mach-E's to be used and for feedback to come in on the auto. Michigan State Police will start a evaluation for 2022 on the Mach-E Police Concept. Police departments have always put demanding duty cycles on the cars, trucks and SUVs that they have used and Ford believes that the Mach-E can demonstrate with an electric powertrain that the Mach-E can deliver strong performance while holding up to the demanding duty cycle of police auto's. This program while focused on just using the Mach-E clearly shows the direction that Ford is looking to help recover R&D as one can easily see them offering an F-150 Lightning Police Pickup also. Ford says this is part of their $30 Billion investment in the electrification of the Ford Portfolio of auto's that will take them through 2025 as they move to an all-electric auto fleet. 4. Just double checked and even in the base long range model, you have no choice but to have to have a Yoke Steering wheel.
  5. Interesting to see all the updated info on the web site: Introducing Cadillac LYRIQ: An All-Electric Future I see the Debut Edition will come in only two colors, Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic with interior being only two choices of Sky Cool Grey and Noir. Wonder what the Model Year 2024 will have for colors and interior options? I hope Cadillac does not go a couple model years with only these colors as I feel that would be a failure. I have to say that I am disappointed in the color choices both exterior and interior. They have expanded the info on Exterior and Interior Features. One has to wonder what the cost of the Full-glass Roof is if hail damages it? ? I do like the modern seats with built in speakers much better than the current seats Cadillac has.
  6. Cadillac had their press release out Saturday Morning. Cadillac Statement on 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Debut Edition Reservations “Today, reservations for the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Debut Edition sold out in just over ten minutes and we continue to see a lot of enthusiasm around the brand – both current product and in our all-electric future. The initial response for LYRIQ has been extraordinary. Since the show car unveiling last year, more than 200,000 people have expressed interest in learning more about the vehicle and our electric future. The opening of reservations for the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Debut Edition represents just the beginning of Cadillac’s journey to become an industry-leading, all-electric luxury brand. While 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Debut Edition reservations are full, more vehicles will be available to order through the Cadillac dealer network starting summer 2022. I can’t wait to share even more about our future EV lineup next year.” – Rory Harvey, vice president, Global Cadillac Within the 1st hour the 2023 model year Launch Edition was sold out. The Lyriq goes into production at the start of 2022. No defined number has been released yet by Cadillac other than to say the first year of production is sold out and states it on their web site. Interesting enough is that if you go into the Lyriq page on their web site for more details, while they also state there in big bold letters that the RESERVATIONS ARE FULL for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition, they also state that Starting Summer 2022 you can order a Lyriq at the dealership. One must wonder if this would be a 2024 edition model? Full details can be reviewed here: Introducing Cadillac LYRIQ: An All-Electric Future
  7. Will agree to disagree. There is a reason the government does not get the best and brightest and salary is one of them when you can get double that in the private sector.
  8. Intersting reads on the life of suburbans and based on the pictures on how much they get repurposed and cut up and changed, I can see by year 5 a suburban has run it's life based on Secrete Service life, FBI, Military, etc. WOW, they are used in ways non of us would ever think. Look Inside The Secret Service's Command SUVs That Are Being Converted For Special Ops Use (thedrive.com) Life is not easy or paid well for being a Secret Service agent, you truly love what you do. What Is It Like To Be An Agent Of The U.S. Secret Service? (forbes.com) Very interesting story done on the Presidential Motorcade and the large amount of SUV (Suburbans) in active duty, reserved and in service that seems to confirm that you need 3 times what is used to ensure the protection of the president. The Fascinating Anatomy of the Presidential Motorcade | The Drive
  9. $36.4 Million for these HD Suburbans is barely a rounding error of mention or even noticed compared to the billions wasted in our military such as the storage of thousands of unwanted tanks in the high desert in California. It is an interesting topic on how the U.S. government spends money.
  10. Sadly yes, the Yoke ships on all Tesla S Plaid cars and Musk has stated it will go on the Tesla X update that is coming. Yet so many problems for people trying to use it, I see class action law suite coming for Tesla.
  11. Running an errand saw this clean blazer across from me at the intersection
  12. Good things coming for Ford Mach-E as an over the air update will allow it to keep fast charging to 90% rather than the original 80% capacity limit Ford had at the start. Enough history is gathered from the current Mach-E out on the road to allow longer fast charging reducing the time to a full battery pack. Exclusive: Ford Mustang Mach-E Fast Charging Update Coming (insideevs.com) This is the best way to view Mercedes big showing of Electric Auto's to come over the next few years. To me a very consistent ugly conservative image of dated electric auto's IMHO.
  13. Total Mountain German Genes here, I turn pink fast, then burn faster and am a lobster by the end of the day without sun screen and a hat too. My wife and kids, their mongolian roots in their Korean Heritage makes them turn lite pink, then brown and by the end of summer, dark brown. Crazy.
  14. Interesting as I did not doubt that EV mode would help out on the trail, but seems people experience is showing EV over ICE is a better mode. Tested: 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime is better off-road with EV Mode (greencarreports.com)
  15. Welcome to the club of pinker than pink!
  16. Seems based on this write up, that Consumer Reports is NO FAN of the Tesla Yoke Steering wheel as they feel there are many safety concerns compared to a traditional circular steering wheel. Gotta say this can come back to bite Tesla in the butt again. Tesla Model S steering yoke is a pain and possible safety concern, says Consumer Reports (greencarreports.com)
  17. Be interesting to see if Cadillac ever adds an electric car. I kind of doubt it at this time as I think this is a shrinking field of desire. I think Cadillac did right with the Lyriq.
  18. With Pictures uploading again, I added the few Interior images to the picture folder for those wanting a detailed view of the inside of the Lucid.
