  1. SWEET, This is one car I would pay that price for and drive it home. Great way to get a piece of history at a resonable price.
  2. Boy for $500, I would take it and strip it down the the Frame and start over. I can see this baby with a nice Black Powder coated frame, modern suspension and then put on a RamJet 502 with a 6 speed tranny, properly insulate the body as it would be finished in a Metallic Candy Apple Red with about 6 coats of clear to give it some depth. Decent clean on the simple side 20" rims riding at factory stock height. No beaner car, but a beautiful P60 with Modern engine, electronics and a paint job. Drive it around to all the High Schools to show the teens what a real car can look like and then burn it out and show them what real American V8 is all about. No, gotta go buy a lotto ticket so I can do a project.
  3. It was amazing what people paid for those rebadged Troopers just for the Acura Logo on them. What over priced SUV's.
  4. WOW, Love this car, to me I could see it sell for about 20K, so it is about 48K over priced. CHEERS on Quality of the Auto JEERS on Price.
  5. Letter to GM, You finally have world class quality products and the competition fighting to stay in the game. You are making your biggest profits ever. Take a page from Toyota, SELL THE VOLT FULLY LOADED FOR $25,0000 You will sell everyone you can make, people will be happy and before you know it, you will not only have recaptured your R&D cost, but you will be able to easily expand the product lineup for auto's based on the Volt. NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR DEALERSHIP GOUGING!!!
  6. GM, Needs to take a bigger loss on these cars just as Toyota did to get them out on the roads and get people using them and being seen on the highways. With 8 Billion in profit, they should see a few million loss on these as marketing to get the cars out and running. Sitting on the dealer lots due to the price being to high does not help GM. I also wonder just how many are base models, the units I saw at the two chevy dealerships were fully loaded and the sticker showed after gov rebate that the cost would still be 40K for this car. I think this is still about 10-15K to high for most people.
  7. Booty
  8. Walked through my companies parking garage, I now work for Isilon which went public a little over a year back and was recently bought out by EMC. The engineers have gone nuts with car purchases, a total list of Porche, BMW M, Cadillac V and AMG. Very weird to see how groups seemed to all buy like cars, the dealerships must have gone nuts in the last couple of months here.
  9. Growing up in the late 60's and 70's Muscle cars and Disco is in my Blood!!!
  10. That is Freaking way to funny. Amazing auto's in the ad. Your right that is a mindF@*K.
  11. Bunker Buddies
  12. Not sure exactly, but it's been some time... Around 2001 we started to become a country of Can't seems 9/11 has allowed the Gov to tell you what you CAN'T and Can do. More CAN't thand CAN. Very sad editorial of our last 12 years.
  13. Sweet Rocket ship that would have helped propel the sales allot higher and kicked the ugly Miata down to the ground.
  14. Awesome safe ride for a teenager to learn in.
  15. I do find this interesting as we already seem to have far to many brands in the world market with some companies struggling to remain profitable. This does not mean that they could not become profitable with a select focused market segment for bare essential cars. Yet how will they hold up against other more established players who are in the market? Interesting move for Nissan, will be watching this one for sure.
  16. Excellent review, I have to agree with the other guys that Ford and Hyundai's styling is a bit trendy and while it can strike a cord fast and gather sales, I do not believe it will age well and could have just as fast a cold drop in sales as the fickle buyers of trendness shift their focus next year. I believe that people will find a higher resale value in the cruze over the long haul more so than the Hyundai or Ford. I still get plenty of compliments on my 94 Suburban and people are shocked it is as old as it is. The auto manufactures need to find just the right balance and with that, they will have a vehicle that will age well and continue to sell well.
  17. Ehh, I pass, not a useful car for the seattle area. California enjoy it.
  18. I liked SLP 2012 Escalade ESV-V edition with 700HP supercharged.
  19. Was the same way in Denver...and Audi A4s also... I'm quite fond of the Land Rover Defender 90 also.. I agree they are all fun good vehicles, wether your in the rockies or here in the cascades, AWD / 4x4 platforms pay for themselves if you drive them in a prope defensive manner.
  20. Weird, I thought most auto manufactures, especially the japan companies were already on a module product /assembly line to quickly build product? Was this not the reason GM, Ford, etc American auto companies were lagging in quality and ease of producing more than one type of auto off a single assembly line? Or do I have this confused with some other process?
  21. It is amazing how many EVO's and STI's I see with mountain bike and snowboard/ski racks on top going up the mountain here in Seattle.
  22. Starting off this months observations was the motorcycle I saw on my way into work. What looked like a restored WWII Motorcycle with Sidecar. Funny thing was the guy was all bundled up in modern motorcycle warm cloths on a day of mixed snow and rain. The motorcycle looked like it should be in a museum as it was in great condition butt clearly ridable.
  23. Interesting input from talking with my 24yr old son last night. As he saves for his new AWD/4x4 CUV he was hanging out with his friends last night who all live in Seattle and they decided to Pool their resources. The 4 all came together and signed an agreement so they are going to buy a used Subaru Forrester AWD so they can get up the mountain to do their favorite winter activity of snowboarding and still go mountain biking, etc. Due to the lack of Mass transit to get up and down the mountains and go places, they figured all 4 paying 25% of the car payment, insurance and maintenance will be a cheaper way than using ZipCar or going it alone. I know money is tight and where there is a will, the early to mid 20's will find a way.
