Opel/Vauxhall News: Morgan Stanley Says GM Should Say Goodbye To Opel
True, this is a company trying to play the stock market like any other stock manipulating company. But they do truly hit the nail on the head. The World has way to much capacity in production and with China and India coming online with auto manufactures, the money loosing dead wood needs to be trimmed. Does Opel really need to be around in 10 years from now with Global names like Chevy, Buick and Cadillac? GM needs to only look to their old past to see that it is time to trim this label and focus all their resources on building up their strongest options. Roll the opel product into the Chevy lineup and simplify and grow their strongest brands.

Chrysler News: 2013 SRT Viper Can Be Yours For $97,395*
Exciting, but I have to wonder how many people will step up to order with the current global economy. With credit charges down 17% and the clear facts that the rich are not spending money, one wonders how successful this launch will be. Now the reduction in charging is a good thing for the long term viability of this country as people get debt paid off and then will have more free disposable income.

Opel/Vauxhall News: Morgan Stanley Says GM Should Say Goodbye To Opel
I see a greatly reduced Opel. Best thing is to take a hybid approach to this. You need to keep a connection to your Euro Customers, but Opel would best be served by reducing down to minimal engineering to make sure product is inline with Euro requirements and taste. Manufacturing, reduce to minimal but otherwise close the over capacity plants and move to eastern Europe. GM should use their Opel distributors and build out a master dealership that can cover Cadillac, Chevy, Buick and Opel and call it good. No need to have stand alone dealers. I believe you can reduce Opel down to being profitable, but it will cause some bad press due to the massive closures to right the ship. They cannot continue with the bleeding they currently have. Time for front line dressing of the wounds and cut off the damaged/dead plants now.

Honda News: 2013 Honda Accord Starts At $21,680*
This gives me the impression that Honda realizes they have an image problem and are giving features away to lure people back to their bland design cars.

Dodge News: Are Manual Transmissions To Blame For The Dodge Dart Slow Sales?
Darts are taking off in Seattle. Larson Auto Group and the over all Dodge dealers are showing off in TV commercials the Manual Dart and clearly telling people if you are into performance and want maximum gas mileage, then come test drive the Dodge Dart. They also clearly say they are taking orders for the Dart with Automatic tranny available starting in Oct. Does not seem to be stopping them from aggressively selling the Dart.

Tires
Yup they are pretty popular in Seattle Home of the asian love for so many tech transplants. Seem to do pretty good in all the water we get here.

Opel/Vauxhall News: Rumorpile: Did GM China and Buick Water Down The GM-PSA Alliance?
This comes across as a pissing match of turf wars and who cares what dynamic benefits and cost savings it can bring to the party, Clearly some people do not want others there. Sad that in this day and age, they cannot understand the importance of bringing higher quality products along with lower prices to beat out the competition. I do not see much gain from the GM-PSA alliance since it is so watered down.

Honda News: Honda Introduces The 2013 Accord Sedan, Coupe, and Plug-In Hybrid
WOW, better bland styling than the last generation, but still blah. The interior is freaking crazy and ugly to me. The cut up dash with layers and buttons all over just looks like an after thought. Not a fan of this car at all, the MPG are impressive if they hold up in real world, but I doubt it. After all we do not live in a perfect society. All Car makers should have to have real world EPA figures not these perfect world EPA figures.

What did your Chevy truck do today?
Do you get it back out for winter use? Nope, wround here my suburban has become a summer driver only as my Trailblazer SS awd and Escalade AWD get me around in the fall and winter rains and up the pass for skiing. It is nice having a deep bench of American Steel to choose from. I found that the blend or crushed gravel as we call it in seattle is best for the base and then sand on top before working the pavers and you end up with an amazing space that drains really well.

What did your Chevy truck do today?
My suburban is stored for the season, summer is over for now in Seattle since work will have me tied up for the last couple weeks so I will not need it to haul the waverunners or pull anything else. At least it got cleaned up and then stored dry for the season.

Industry News: What Brands Are Saab Owners Turning To?
I totally agree, GM should have spent the money on cleaning up their own house and it might have not only kept them out of Bankruptcy but also allowed them to get to better products sooner. SAAB was the biggest black hole anyone could have purchased. It should have died far sooner than it did.

New Trailblazer
I am so ready for this to be sold here with that engine. I can see adding another trailblazer to the family if only GM brings it here to NA.

Am I being a dick to used motorcycle sellers?
Old new. It's an '09 with a hair over 10K miles, and still incredibly clean. Way to go, you are not the problem, they are. I have found you have 3 kinds of bikers. The morons who think they are better than everyone else and their bike no matter what the age or miles or condition is supiorer to anything else out there. The thugs, these are gang bangers who find it cool to be in a gang, dehuminize men or woman who are not part of them and still think they have superior product that is better than new or reasonable used. Last is the Resonable person, these people love bikes, but decide it is time for someone else to enjoy their ride at a reasonable price. In regards to the ad's you posted, all are way over priced and I see nothing special about them to justify the price. Ask them for better details as to why the price they ask is justifiable compared to KBB as a guide for price? You are being fare and professional and if they want to respond as a dick, so let them. No hair off your back.
