  1. Very true, if they do not move the needle, I think they will loose customers in numbers.
  2. I am sure he would fit in a CTS or XTS far better than that Buick. Course non of us Shreks really fit into any car, just keep us in our Full Size SUV's.
  3. I still think Honda is making a mistake here by putting this into a limited group of cars, they should do their whole product line and get this going sooner rather than later. Role it out car by car, but plan to have it out to all cars within 6 months.
  4. While it could end up being a competitor, it also could end up being a pig as the luxury category seems to always want to start out doing a light weight version and then the It must have everything luxury on it and ends up being bloated. Should be interesting to see what happens considering that their style is anything but a style with the predator nose.
  5. Big guys in little cars is just WRONG! in my book. I will never understand it. Yes - I agree 100%!! Here's another one to prove this point: That looks like the Buick, but no one can sit behind this guy I can promise you that.
  6. Alternative Energy, what is the logical next step for America? Join me as I write about the various forms of alternative energy and how I see them stacking up in today’s market place. Green Fuel Ethanol / BioMass Touted as the answer to our high gas prices, ethanol is an alcohol based fuel derived from fermenting and distilling crops that are broken down into simple sugars.Ethanol fuel is mainly produced in the US by a company called Archer Daniels Midland, an agricultural giant with years of experience and investment in the Ethanol industry. This industry is supported by Billions of approved tax dollars and the legal requirement that Oil Company MUST buys a percentage of Ethanol and mixes it into regular gas.Ethanol was touted as a cheaper form of fuel with an acceptable smaller amount of energy per gallon or BTU’s.The problem with Ethanol production or the issue is that ethanol production is supported by energy produced with Coal Power, which is the dirtiest form of energy. The question asked then is why is a clean fuel being hailed as such a wonder when it has to use the dirtiest form of energy production to produce it?The EPA has recently in the past few years had to tighten down restrictions on Ethanol plants due to the excessive spewing of chemicals that are dangerous to the environment and known to cause cancer in humans. Sadly the EPA since 2004 has Ethanol listed as a major source of Pollution. This has been pushed down into the bowls to be seen only by people driven to see testing results for alternative fuels production but the details are on the EPA web site.It is clear that in our search to move away from oil dependence and find new green fuels that we are polluting in new ways or at least other ways when it comes to production. So where do we stand when it comes to Ethanol? Does the subsidy really make sense to pay these companies billions to make a fuel that now on average costs $2.13 a gallon but without the subsidy would cost equal to gasoline and has less power and pollutes equal to if not greater when you factor in the coal power required to make it?This does not take into account the added cost put on Corn as a food source since a required amount of corn must be sold and used for production of Ethanol. Currently a bushel of corn is over $8 per bushel and a We have a problem on our hands and it is time we step up and truly move to an alternative form of Green Energy. Is it algae, fruit based ethanol, Biodiesel, CNG, Solar, Electric, Hydrogen (Cold Fusion), wind or just what is the next logical step for the US to take? Over the next few months I will attempt to review both renewable and non renewable energy!
  7. So would it be safe to say you could if you did not know your engines say that BMW DOHC engine is the NorthStar DOHC engine? Based on this, while the North-star was a solid engine, it still was not capable of doing what the push-rod version could do.
  8. Happy Birthday 98, Rock hard and have a lasting memory!!!
  9. Freakin weird, but interesting for a turbo charged custom ride.
  10. So I wonder if the next President will be ridding in one of these pimped out diesel powered rides? Other than the clear longer length, it is amazing how they tend to look allot alike. Will still take the caddy ride over the Nissan every day.
  11. Big guys in little cars is just WRONG! in my book. I will never understand it.
  12. Simple is fine, but even Simple needs style. They have no design mojo and so the US will bring this to Honda. The next version of the CIVIC and NSX are going to be very interesting to see.
  13. I do like the minimalist interior, but the outside just does nothing for me. While it is nice that they connected the front headlight design with the rear tail light design, I just get a total FORD vibe from this and for the money Land Rover charges, I should not be getting this cheap vibe.
  14. Will be interesting to see how this sells and how the customers respond. I suspect we will see two messages. 1) it is a slow car with ok gas mileage 2) It is a nice car by why is the gas mileage so bad. Performance folks will complain it is not fast enough and tree huggers will complain it does not have good enough gas mileage.
  15. Fisker is looking to protect themselves with all the investors money they took, so now is the time to bring in new mgmt to fix the issues. Saw the new Fisker auto store in Bellevue washington yesterday and have to say it was freaking brown box ugly with just one fisker on the show room floor and two out front but a few Porsche's and a Maserati on the show room floor. Still get a feeling this is a fly by night operation. But after 30 years guess the guy figures he could leave GM and retire and then 60 days later take up a hobby.
  16. UGH, How Fordish of this auto with those headlights. Not a fan at all, I think they have lost their style sense.
  17. In Seattle, this has become very true as the average age of driving has risen to 18 and more people are just looking at an Auto as an appliance that gets them from point A to B and so they do not care about how it drives since they are not in it very long. Yet the test drive is very important to people who drive more than 5-10 miles one way to work or have long commutes as the layout of the dash, comfort of the driving position and over all road handling becomes very important. I suspect that this read the reviews and follow the trends will stay this way for as much as 20% of car buyers going forward. I also will say that 50% of these people will end up trading in that auto in the first year and realize just how important the test drive is.
  18. Man does that give me some weird images in my head!
  19. I liked the Beretta and the Cavalier Z24, but the conquest was freakin awesome to drive. Which is why it beat out my other favorite the Beretta. I would have bought one of them, but the Chevy dealer who had a fully loaded white one at the end of the year was not willing to dicker on the price.
  20. Total Confidence is that they are totally confident that they will have your money!
  21. Yes, I would agree that pure electric is a money looser at this stage, but it is a compliance issue and as such, if a company is to play in all states, then they must comply. Sad that they could not use CNG auto's to comply since Electric is such a green house gas pig of production.
  22. Stage
  23. Only way to change this perception is to get people into the auto's. Since many do not like going to dealerships, it would make sense to take some auto's to the local busy park so people can check out the auto's and test drive them.
  24. That red car is the Alfa Romeo 159, what the Giulia will be replacing Boy talk about getting confused on their cars. No wonder I like to stick with American.
