Intersting read from Car and Driver on the new trucks: http://www.caranddriver.com/news/2014-chevrolet-silverado-gmc-sierra-spy-photos-future-cars Here is a report with spy shots on what they call the Ford Ranger replacement and GM's Mini truck with photo's. The Ford does look smaller than the GM truck. http://www.fordpartsbans.com/blog/2010/05/spy-shots-next-gen-ford-ranger-and-chevy-colorado-replacements-spotted-in-the-u-s-but-where-will-they-end-up/

Having owned a Dakota for 12yr's before giving it to the wifes side of the family as a member needed something that was dependable since I take care of my auto's with all the scheduled maintenance it still goes and for larger folks like me, While my first truck was a Luv Series 5 1976 that I still wish I had, it was small and truly a 2 person only short drive truck. Yet the Dakota could get 3 snug and you could go on long trips. It was a nice truck and I think many people liked them as my sister bought a crew cab version of the dakota before they stopped making them and loves it as it is not as big as a full size, but bigger than all the small trucks. Great trucks, not distractions at all. Yet in todays day of high fuel costs, I can see the need as there has always been a need for small trucks. Who ever brings in the mini truck again will win with innter city folks who want a truck and for suburban folks who would like a 1/2ton or stiff 1 ton mini to haul the occasional weekend house project.

Wonder if GM thinks they could do a Dodge and have the mid and full size trucks like the Dakota and Ram? Course having everything Heavy Duty to take advantage of loop holes will just be a silly small step as they will end up shutting it down eventually and too many people have no clue on how to drive a large truck let alone a mid size auto. It amazes me how much body damage I see on small commuter cars from people that cannot seem to gauge space and size around them.

CVT is like classical music. Some you love some you hate and some just leave ya Blah! I really do see the Engineering aspect of CVT, but there is passion missing in them all. I have driven some rentals that drove fine, some that drove like nothing was under the hood and I could have run faster and some that had engine and just seemed to rev. I find CVT auto's to be souless commuter cars that suck the life out of you like a Prius. I will pass on them at this stage, I would rather have a GM 4 spd over a CVT.

Hey Camino, Found that if you put your vin in at www.gmpartgiant.com they do give you the complete list of parts for the doors rear and the contacts are available. 050 **693450 CONTACT,DR LK HARN(4 PIN CONTACT)(R/D RH SI) CK1,2(06-16)(AU3,ZW9) 92-95 01 $18.28 $12.90 * 051 **693402 CONTACT,DR LK HARN(BODY RH SI)(5 PLUNGER SWITCH) CK1,2(06-16)(AU3,ZW9) 92-95 01 $54.40 $38.38 * 091 **693403 CONTACT,R/WDO DEFG HARN(USED ON BODY LH SIDE) CK1,2(06-16)(C49,ZW9) 92-95 01 $23.35 $17.34 * 090 **693451 CONTACT,R/WDO DEFG HARN(USED ON RR DR LH SIDE) CK1,2(06-16)(ZW9) 92-95 01 -- -- Now mine being a 94 suburban has both sides with contacts, but as we know most parts from 93-99 fit on all the Full Size SUV's. Good Luck.

Here is what GM shows for the Back Door Electrical connections and yes, as they wear out, they will cause electrical disruptions. Order a Cargo Door Contactor and door Jam Switch. JC Whitney has two or 4 node universal contact switches http://www.jcwhitney.com/painless-universal-door-jamb-switch/p3065031.jcwx?skuId=2929427&filterid=c2789d50267y1993g183u0j1

Interesting observation, I wonder if it would hold up if one poled woman and looked at the sales to see what woman were buying in comparison to men. GM would be wise to check this out to make sure they continue to have product that pulls from both sides and sells well.

Welcome to C & G, Great group of guys with passion for all types of Auto's. Nice little Mazda. Love what you did with the Beretta, yea they were not the best built, but I still love the looke especially of the GTU. The work you did really makes it look sharp. Pontiac were sweet for their time and we all have a special place in our heart for those cars. Welcome again, will look forward to your posts and getting to know you and debating with you about the auto world.

Fuel Cell's have great potential, but I do not believe it will be the turn key solution to Zero Green House Gas. I really doubt they will have infastructure and mass choice of auto's ready by 2017. These are the same type of comments made in the 80's about Natural Gas and Propane and today we are only just now starting to get larger adoption. While I love the idea of going zero emissions, reality is it cannot happen in a short time nor can the world just flip like this due to the profits companies will still want to get. End result this is just a way to get Gov's to fund the R&D and get them to back off the auto companies as they continue to sell petrol and current alternative energy auto's like Natural Gas.

Bummer to hear, I have to do the radiator on my daughter Durango. Cracked this winter and is a slow leak. Just keep refilling it for now till I can get to it on the weekend.

Very cool, So are you going to weld tips back on or use the frame from the donor truck or how you going to address the tips being gone from cutting? Also, any pictures of it so far to show us where the project is at? Love hearing about it.

Nissan News: 2015 Nissan Titan Lineup To Grow
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Nissan
I think we will see an increase in companies pushing to get into the full size market before some realize it is little to late and just need to stay focused on their auto lineup with small size trucks that people will want. -

Saw today on the way home a PT Cruiser that they had turned into a pickup truck. Dodge is advertising base level full size Pickup trucks here with V8 engine starting at $14,999. This sort of pricing on a base level truck makes it hard to build and sell small mini trucks at the same price point.

Jeep News: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Pricing Leaked?
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
Diesel is not for your 2-3 yr lease deals or casual buyer, but for those 5yrs and longer who want the Torque, Mileage and performance that a diesel can give a 4x4. When you think of the price and mileage over 5yrs, this is a fair price. Yes I wish it was half that price, but then they are buying them from someone else. GM hopefully can leverage their baby Duramax Diesel line around the world and bring it in at a reasonble 2000 to 2500 with high mileage.- 8 replies

They need some style as does BMW. They both have become a bit stale in the last 10 years.

My thoughts go out to you and your family. I understand the pain and loss of such a loved one. I have a 96 year old grandma, all that is left from both sides so I truly feel for your loss. Hang in there as I know you have a life time of amazing memories.

All I can say is that as long as I keep my foot out of my custom built 402 in my suburban it gets good gas mileage while cruising at 70 with about 1500rpm. It is only when I open up the fun factor by smashing the pedal that my V8 takes gulps.
