How General Motors was Really Saved
A great plan that hopefully someone at GM will realize can be done in a Niche fashion.

Tyler Shipman's Fiero
Ya never know what you might find on the internet or for that matter YouTube. In today's world of post anything be it tacky or inspirational it came as a great video to watch about people coming together to make a persons dream happen before he left this world. I bet you will shed at least a few tears. Awesome to all who contributed to making this happen.

Marchionne: New Five-Year Plan For Alfa Romeo :Comments
I do not see it surviving at the current rate of lost sales: Last year the brand barely sold 100.000 units in the whole world, down 29% circa. The brand is far from the late 80′s/early 90′s when it sold 144.000 units only in Italy (6% market share). Last year it had to deal with only 2 models, as the 159′s production ended. In Italy, which counts for 42% of the brand’s sales, its registrations fell a massive 28%. 2013 Alfa Romeo may sell around 70.000 units, which is extremely bad. Full Details see here: http://fiatgroupworld.com/2013/05/04/alfa-romeo-sales-2012-full-year-analysis/ Over All, either they need to make it a niche model with a smaller profitable number of auto's or kill it and invest the R&D dollars into Fiat & Chrysler.

Toyota News: Rumorpile: Aston Martin CEO Says Toyota iQ Will Be Canned Next Year
You cannot say this car had big plans when they barely sold 100 or was it 150 at most? Over priced, ugly little thing. Toyota is sitting on a ton of the iQ cars based on looking online at local Scion dealerships. I wonder just how many are sitting on lots and what that equates to as sell through for North America. Does anyone have a subscriptions to wards to look at this latest report to see just how many iQ's are sitting around the us? http://wardsauto.com/datasheet/us-light-vehicle-inventory-summary-october-2013

How General Motors was Really Saved
Awesome read, very insightful glad the story was published. Makes sense for the brands they killed at the time. I could still see having a Hummer and Pontiac package for GMC & Buick. These would be niche packages for the public to purchase.

Toyota News: Rumorpile: Toyota GT86 Convertble Off Again?
We had our first major fall storm of the year in Seattle with sustained winds of 60mph. It shut down the floating bridge across Lake Washington, numerous power outages and major disruptions to the ferry system, etc. Sadly convertibles did not get a good name as a man was nearly killed when a tree got blown onto his new Ford Mustang convertible and the local news talked it up that he would have survived better if he had a steel roof. Course I think either way, a heavy 150 foot tall evergreen crashing down on your car was going to cause injury no matter way. Maybe a bit less with a steel roof, but they still would have had to cut him out like the fire department did on his convertible as they cut the support structure of the roof away and the side of the car to get to the man. While I know there are those that love a convertible and the open wind type driving, without plenty of money, the low cost cars that are convertibles are just not fun to drive.

WOW, Just glad you are OK. Did the bear make it ok? Keep us updated as I am interested in what hitting a bear costs to repair the car. We have bear and deer here all the time. So far so lucky I have not hit either.- 2013 Seattle Auto Show
