I do not see it surviving at the current rate of lost sales: Last year the brand barely sold 100.000 units in the whole world, down 29% circa. The brand is far from the late 80′s/early 90′s when it sold 144.000 units only in Italy (6% market share). Last year it had to deal with only 2 models, as the 159′s production ended. In Italy, which counts for 42% of the brand’s sales, its registrations fell a massive 28%. 2013 Alfa Romeo may sell around 70.000 units, which is extremely bad. You cannot say this car had big plans when they barely sold 100 or was it 150 at most? Over priced, ugly little thing. Toyota is sitting on a ton of the iQ cars based on looking online at local Scion dealerships. I wonder just how many are sitting on lots and what that equates to as sell through for North America. Maybe like GM, it is time to just KILL Alfa Romeo and let it live in the history books. One can only have so many revival plans before it is a lost cause and this is clearly a lost cause.

Awesome read, very insightful glad the story was published. Makes sense for the brands they killed at the time. I could still see having a Hummer and Pontiac package for GMC & Buick. These would be niche packages for the public to purchase.

We had our first major fall storm of the year in Seattle with sustained winds of 60mph. It shut down the floating bridge across Lake Washington, numerous power outages and major disruptions to the ferry system, etc. Sadly convertibles did not get a good name as a man was nearly killed when a tree got blown onto his new Ford Mustang convertible and the local news talked it up that he would have survived better if he had a steel roof. Course I think either way, a heavy 150 foot tall evergreen crashing down on your car was going to cause injury no matter way. Maybe a bit less with a steel roof, but they still would have had to cut him out like the fire department did on his convertible as they cut the support structure of the roof away and the side of the car to get to the man. While I know there are those that love a convertible and the open wind type driving, without plenty of money, the low cost cars that are convertibles are just not fun to drive.

So in reviewing this and seeing it includes a 240v charging station, I asked myself, Where is support for a Level 3 charger? If electric is what we all should be moving to, then why do they not support the rapid charging you can get with a level 3 charger? Am I missing something?

I will say that while I love the new Yukon, the front on view of the Grill does give me a solid FORD Vibe with that massive grill.

Interesting, Fiat Down, Chrysler staying luke warm, jeep having a nice little bump, Dodge & Ram coming on Strong. Durango and Charger showing strong sales gains. Seems the rest of the family needs to refresh ASAP.

Is it me or does this Chevy have the same headlights as what was in the SAAB auto's? It sure hits me as SAAB influenced.

All track with hybrid / diesel / CNG engine options would be a great competitor to Subaru.

Thanks, I did find it amazing that the fully loaded MB for 30 has a Pole to hold up the hood compared to all the other auto's with their shock/struts pushing up the hood. Just 500 more on a stripped down MB and you have the difference in hoods. I would think MB could have standardized every auto including their starter/entry level car to have the same hood support system.
