GM Also needs to realize that the Baby Boomers are NOT buying Blinging Chrome Auto's that they used to. Most are into their last or 2nd to last auto. Those of us with cash to spend on new auto's are in the 30-50 age range and most of us like luxury that is subdued. I love all my GM auto's including my 2006 Escalade ESV Platinum. If it had more chrome than the door handles, grill, tips on roof rack and running boards along with the very nice 20" chrome wheels, I would have passed. The thing I hate about the last generation was that ugly big brick of Chrome on the back tail gate. Yes I understand some love a chromed out blinged out auto, but I believe their are more of us that love monochromatic auto's. GM should explore doing a Escalade in the Plum Color with BLACK Chrome for wheels, grill and door handles. That is the perfect accent and no more.

That is really weird, In looking at charger forums, it seems the 2010 and 2011 chargers seem to have the recirc box break or motor break and this keeps the recirc from working. Requires pulling the dash apart to get to the motor and box. Have them check all your bi-level flaps to see if any are cracked and get those fixed also so you can address all the AC issues at one time. Good Luck, sorry you will have to take this back in. Let me know as I am interested if this is the actual problem or not but like I said it seems to be a common issue on Charger and dodge forums in searching.

Stupid question but did you make sure you did not have it in Defrost mode or foot / Defrost mode. I know my auto's all being GM work with face blowing or Face and feet blowing only for recirc. My daughters Durango works the same way.

According to VW, the DUNE will have 2 inches taller ground clearance, .8 inches wider and will end up being only .5 inches taller than a standard Bug. Seems strange to give it such an increase in ground clearance but only small increase over all in total height. Less interior head room?

June 2014: Porsche Cars North America, Inc.

I think to a certain extent every brand needs a halo auto, sedans, sports car and suv/cuv. Trucks, do not need to be part of everyones lineup but the rest does. -
Bummer, that is a sad thought. GM should be investing in this auto.

Is it possible that it has the transmission due to already being a produced auto for Australia and as such would require more work to upgrade the transmission? I would think if the transmission could handle the HP / Torque and it would get better gas mileage, then GM should have upgraded the transmission before importing it. This seems like a common sense upgrade that should have been applied before importing the engine. Or is it that GM needs to fulfill a contract and figure those that want the performance will pay the GG Tax and we get the contract fulfilled and if all sales go well then upgrade the Transmission in year two?

10-4. The s-class sells at an ATP BELOW the MSRP for a no-option car, and you KNOW they are never sold with no options. The option list last I looked totals around $30K, so even taking the 50% dollar figure of the option list, the discount/incentive/dealer price cut is monstrous. I'D like to see proof MB is selling it @ 100% of capacity. Not passing the smell test, just like the "$1500 headlight" didn't. The best information I could find on selling prices and impressions seem to come from this report. US News did a report on the S Class showing average selling price ranges from $89,971 to $134,705 depending on equipment. This runs on average about $5000 below the stated selling price. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Mercedes-Benz_S-Class/

While many including myself find this a bland looking car, I really do hope it is a success for GM as they need a Halo Family sedan for Chevy.

June 2014: Subaru of America, Inc.
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2014 Sales Archive
The local news here was talking about how some companies are surging in the 21st century and others seem to be faltering. The news reporter speculated that Mazda and Subaru would be consumed by some bigger company in the next 5 years and that VW who is seeing terrible sales here will either pull out of this country to survive or end up going bankrupt. I had to laugh as he clearly does not know the companies. The only part I would agree with him on was that I still expect merges as we narrow down car companies. Still far more than the world can support. -
Better to over recall and then recall with clarification in today's news where news and politicians wants to cremate you to get voters and viewer points than to not recall and get caught with having missed it. I am perfectly happy with GM do this and shows they are paying attention.

Very interesting video that covers early info on the Hellcat but also comments on how Brembo is growing to become the standard for new brakes and flat mgmt to allow growth.

Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: June 2014
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2014 Sales Archive
VW is wanting to position itself as a premium brand. This is not all bad thinking. VW is and always will be a Cheap auto company for the masses. They are NOT a luxury auto company. Leave that to their sister divisions. Fahrvergnügen- 5 replies

Design Style - They need to get some unique style into the auto's and move beyond the retro mustang. The concept was great, but the watered down version is just Ehnnn. Plastic basic consistent interior. I know some here say ford has upped their interior yet I sit in the car and the vents in the top of the line Platinum Lincoln is the same as the one in the Fiesta or mustang. Manual Flip airvents, radios, aged My Sync, etc. The list is long. Final piece is I walked in 2 weeks ago to the ford dealership sales floor to just look around. From a people stand point, they need to really update their sales approach. The old Used car pushy sales person is just terrible. Hounding you and trying to force you to buy is just terrible. Not a fan of coming into a dealership and having 12 guys stand around as you want to go in and look at the auto's and they just stalk you. Auto's, Fit and Finish is still not up to par on what I see at GM, Chrysler, Asian or European cars. I understand you will have some rust on wearable parts, but when you see rust, poor stiching, Finish and the attention to detailing a car it just yells cheap and cutting corners. Auto's are not cheap anymore, we all know that and it is really hard for college students to buy a car now. So I demand that the cars come up on a higher quality level.

Camry and Corolla are the true LEMMINGS car of the 21st century. Plain boring, a car that should have auto drive so you can sleep since there is nothing there to inspire you to enjoy driving.
-
Porsche does make a car with 887 hp though. The Bugatti Veyron has 1200 hp, but that is made in France even though Volkswagen makes it. But 707 hp in a non-super car is crazy, so kudos for Chrysler for going big. It's also much cheaper than either of those cars which means even a crazy middle income person can buy one if they want. I have to say I doubt it as even American has woken up to the need for auto's to handle better. Shredding tires, sure but then any auto company that builds 500HP or more into an auto is also looking to shred tires. Who does not like to do burn outs.
