  1. Seems to show that the baggage of GM is going to haunt them for life. If they can truly change the perception of Opel / Vauxhall auto's then fine. But I think the sales issues are more a dealership issue as the dealerships are old dinosaurs that suck and need major refreshment.
  2. Look like everyone wants to get into the compact / sub-compact luxury CUV market.
  3. Washington state has established a review board to study the possibility of going to miles taxed instead of a gas tax. This would apply to all vehicles regardless of the type of propulsion system. Personally I think it could be a better way to go and drop the crazy gas tax which Washington is one of the 5 highest in the nation. Suck for Mass peeps as you are in essence being double taxed. One or the other not both.
  4. Not sure about the death clock being set back. If anything they got a bit more oxygen to see if they can really run or not. My gut tells me they have a line in the sand to meet certain sales goals or be closed and so a bit more oxygen to see if they can jump start sales and keep them going.
  5. Durango rocks, my daughter is planning to trade in our 99 Durango for a new one in the spring time. Would be a shame to kill what I see as a quality built mid size SUV that is doing really well as I see a ton of them all over. Plus if memory serves me right, is it not a sister to the Jeep Grand Cherokee? I cannot see killing off a solid auto that has less R&D costs since it is a shared platform.
  6. Have to say I love what I see over all, nice big rims, solid body style. I think the compact CUV market has a ton of growth for AWD luxury models. My one dislike is the Military style small windows. I am hearing from more and more people who are so over the small windows and want a bigger green house. I know there is a market for people who like that slim small window, but more people like a bigger green house and if auto makers do not watch it, they will find themselves with product that does not sell as customers are looking for that bigger green house affect.
  7. Nice write up, seems to be a bland basic people mover for commuting. At least it looks a little better than the older model but the interior is pathetic. You are so right that for this price point, they have gone way to cheap and yet people will buy it blindly due to the Toyota name rather than look at better alternatives. It will sell, but I cannot say it will be a home run hit.

    I believe

I think the new Cheerokee is pretty awesome, I was not a fan at the begining, but after seeing it in person and being able to check the auto out, the trail hawk is awesome. http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/82320-2013-seattle-auto-show/#
  9. Racing seats can be used in any auto, even daily drivers if a person loves a stiff very supportive seat like that. Also a 4 point racing harness is very safe, even safer than traditional seat belts IMHO. As long as a person realizes that racing harnesses do not have the same give and take as traditional OEM seatbelts, I love them for the snug fit they give you.
  10. Sold GM performance. Amazing what a FWD appliance can do like the XTS. I think a certain person who is all high and mighty about german engineering needs to eat a little humble crow.
  11. FTFY. :smilewide: Mucho Appreciate it. Learn something new everyday!
  12. Ya, the R/T.. https://autos.aol.com/article/2011-dodge-grand-caravan-rt/ WOW, that is pretty interesting, wonder what type of premium they got for a Man Cave mini van.
  13. Why not? True, but you just cannot make it a true sports vehicle. It is a people mover after all.
  14. A blacktop edition for the van??? Why???
  15. Naw, Frogs are cuter than this thing. Looks more like a bridge troll.
  16. FTFY What the? I so hate acronyms. Makes it so much harder to understand some times.
  17. Agree that the names hold more emotion, yet even then they were still over priced luxury Honda Versions. Acura needs to truly stop rebadging Honda and go their own way with body style and interiors that set it apart if they want to be a contender.
  18. Lovely Car! That would be killer as a Buick GS Coupe!
  19. I bet on the following, the ugly big plastic nose is for Euro spec pedestrian crash standards / ease of repair for auto crashes and probably the only way they can get at the engine for service. Remove the Nose, service the engine and put the nose back on again. Vans have never really had an easy service access except in the 70's when you had the huge hump inside come off so they could do an easy tune up.
  20. 3 strikes and your out, we heard this all before and they continue to rework the same old relaunch plans. Same message different platforms. Eventually they will realize they lost the opportunity and just need to fold it or have it as a niche vehicle. There is no global ability for Alfa. Those days are past I believe. I believe this is talk to just keep certain few exec's or investors pacified to keep them from causing trouble as they need to focus on the lines that can make them money and not invest billions in a line that has a past due date.
  21. Except for the taxi drivers, they still drive wicked fast and tend to hit the horn if you hold them up. After all time is money.
  22. Lets just hope it helps pay down the R&D to get this into more variety of models. I think a Suburban Volt Power Train with a small Diesel generator would do amazing.
  23. Impatiently waiting,.......... Both are still very ugly IMHO. I agree with Balthazar that there is some cheapness going on with the all plastic nose. But knowing the idiot Socialist Republic of Euro, they probably will say it is people friendly when they get hit by the crazy drivers. Lately it all seems to boil down to what is people crash friendly. I wonder just how friendly it is compared to a nice looking body style.
  24. Wow, I wonder if they will get any law suites over the name since there are many other products called ProMaster? This is one ugly van. I really hope they redo the nose.
