So far I have not had good luck with AMD. Their CPU's and box's seem to always be buggy and have never run reliable for Windows or Linux. So far while I love competition I have yet to stay on anything long term other than Intel.

Nice Changes, Thanks for the update.

So it would seem that we could have very efficient performance v90 V6 and V8 engines with Superchargers or totally re-engineer the V6 and V8 engines to send the exhaust to the center of the engine where you would mount a single more efficient turbo that can handle all of the exhaust but that would require major re-engineering of the engines or at least the top end of the engines. Personally, I will take a larger V8 engine over smaller turbo engines. I loved the 3800 SC in the Buick, was a blast to drive. Loved the Supercharged Cobalt as it was also fun to drive and while many here say Turbo's are very reliable in high mileage cases, I have not seen that yet myself and after yesterday where a kid in his Civic all turbo'd out tried to cut me off on the highway and my Trailblazer SS only needed a nudge to jump ahead and get away from the idiot driver. I am sold on my pushrod V8 Corvette engines for long life, solid performance and a total fun factor that 4 and 6 bangers just do not seem to produce for me yet. Happy Holidays all!

I think GM needs to look at dumping the Euro Union jobs and go with the better built Korean folks. I think this would help them in quality and long term growth of the market. Sadly, I think GM still needs to shrink departments around the world to deal with the over all world economy issues and over capacity problems.

While I love the idea of an AWD Sports car and would love to see a Cadillac V AWD. Right now I have to agree with those that say they need to go on a diet and loose some weight. Or at least get the HP/Torque up high enough to give the performance of a light 3000lb auto with the MPG of a decent mid size sedan. We have been stuck on teen MPG for a long time.

I agree that there is market place for these auto's and that they need to be refreshed. Yet I think they could dump the Dodge version and just have one Chrysler version that starts with a plain Jane model and goes up to an ubber luxury model. With Chrysler, Honda, Toyota having the bulk of this market, I do not see any reason for GM to get back into the Mini van market. CUV's are the future and would limit the stretching out of R&D dollars as they are needed to get GM current products back to World Class Quality. When GM gets to a high profit stand point like their arch rival Toyota, then they can look as niche auto markets.

BMW News: BMW i8 Spyder Runs Into Some Problems
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in BMW
Seems common sense to produce the hardtop version to get sales going and work on the convertible version over time, a year or two probably behind the hard top version. -
Acura needs so much help in style it will be interesting to see what they do. In regards to the FIT, a New updated model could not come soon enough for this overly hard plastic ugly little monster. The inside is as bad as the style on the outside. I still do not see why people want the Fit when they at least in Seattle are always fully loaded and cost more than a civic and yet are so much smaller.

Nice write up, I have to say that this SUV has gotten uglier and uglier. Man does Toyota need to go back to school on style as this is just butt ugly.

A loaded LT like this would still be plain on the outside. The loading up of the outside was left to the GMC versions of these auto's or the rare chevy Tahoe GT. One option is if you want to take it off road and withstand dents and dings and scuff's then from the belt line on down cover it LineX. I have a friend that actually covered his whole suburban in LineX so he did not have to worry about a scratched paint job.

As always, Clearly their love for Japan comes through over America. I would disagree with more than half of those choices. Big benefit is it leaves many awesome auto's at lower prices for those of us that can and do love American Rides to pick up.

I had a friend that brought over a car he had loaned to his nephew for a few years. There was just about everything ground in and he had tried to use a rug doctor to get it all out but still looked bad. I took the time to remove all the trim pieces so that the whole carpet could be pulled out of the auto. Trust me this did require removing seats. I then bought commercial carpet cleaner and laid the carpet out on the driveway, covered it in commercial carpet cleaner and use a stiff brush with my own arm power to scrub the whole carpet. I then covered the carpet in more cleaner and let it soak in the sun for about 30 min. Then took a hose with a strong nozzle and hosed it out. Only a couple places needed a second treatment but over all it cleaned right up and then I hung it over a ladder so the water would drain out and let the sun dry it. Once it was dried, reinstalled into the auto. No need to fear about changes as the auto carpets even with their pre-formed areas seem to hold their shape really well and it looked almost like new on the inside.

Front Page and Article format updates

Testing in Productions Rocks, plus I expect more people to be involved in the holidays so not many will probably notice till after the new year. Good Luck with your agenda. -
Washington is a stupid t plate state.
-
I consider myself a car nut and while I wish the Fed's would just standardize a single back plate for all states, I know it will never happen due to idiot politicians. Not worth getting upset over and I would always take the better quality of life, job and family over an auto with 2 versus one plate.

Interesting Ideas, thanks for posting Dwight.

Nice write up, learned allot about the Rav4. Have to say that the interior dash is just plain Hideous! Not a fan and it looks utilitarian cheap to me.

Hey SAmadei, Very Cool on the 2 door Tahoe. I myself have been kicking around the Idea of picking up a GT model as I loved the two door versions. My understanding from owning a 94 suburban and having friends with 4/2 door Tahoe / Yukon's is that the tail gate is inner changeable and for the most part the front door panels. Interior becomes a mix as Chevy and GMC did their own thing but mostly used the same base parts. If you go out to any of the 3rd party GM sites that sell GM parts you will find the same part fits the 2/4 door Tahoe / Suburban's for the 93-99 model year. There are certain specific parts for each year but many of the core basic parts are interchangeable. I have used the following to buy quality parts for my Suburban without paying dealership gouging prices. http://www.gmpartscheap.com/ http://www.discountgmparts.com/index.html http://www.gmpartsnow.com/?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=gm%20parts%20online&utm_content=ad+copy&utm_campaign=gm+makes http://www.newgmparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=213815 http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ http://www.gm-parts-dealer.com/replacement.htm http://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214533 I am sure you will be able to get the right parts at a reasonable price to fix up your 2 door Tahoe. Good Luck.

Rumorpile: Next Commodore To Become Front-Wheel Drive
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
Australians have given up...the Commodore is only 4th in sales last year, they mostly buy FWD appliances like Americans do, and some Japanese trucks. 1. Mazda3 - 44,128 2. Toyota HiLux - 40,646 3. Toyota Corolla - 38,799 4. Holden Commodore - 30,532 5. Holden Cruze - 29,161 6. Hyundai i30 - 28,348 7. Toyota Camry - 27,230 8. Nissan Navara - 26,045 9. Toyota Yaris - 18,808 10. Ford Focus - 18,586 I have a friend who went to work for a tech company in Australia and just came home for the holidays. He says he pays double what we pay for gas and everything else is almost double if not triple. He was shocked to see some items like wine from there cheaper here than down under. The public is in a pull back to the cheapest and most fuel efficient auto's they can get. Only the true upper 1/3 of the population are buying performance Holdens that tend to guzzle gas. From the sounds of things that Terry told me, it sounds like they are going through crazy prices and interest rates like we did in the 80's. Sad, but a fact of life, their next so called full size sedan will probably be a re-badged Buick. -
Nice write up, always enjoyed the Maxima, but based on the pictures, it is time for a new model that is modern and competitive. Does not look like it would stand up to a 6'6" tall person driving with room for another behind. These cars need much more space.
