This week, Nissan launched a new ad wondering what the world would look like if everything ran on gasoline. From household appliances to MP3 players, the bleak world Nissan portrays in their ad says it's time for the electric car. The ad also shows the main character filling up a Chevrolet Volt, saying how it's part of the problem.

GM wasn't impressed with Nissan's new ad and decided to give Nissan a piece of their mind. GM product and brand communications chief Jason Laird wrote on Twitter today this,

"A carmaker poking gentle fun at our product ignores towtrucks they need and rental cars they recommend as backup to their product."

Ouch.

However, Laird alleged plausible deniability, stating he didn't make any reference to ad, Nissan, or the Leaf. True, but its understandable why we think its Nissan Laird is referencing and not Fisker, Tesla, Smart, THiNK, or other EV manufacturers.
